*LANGUAGE Wow! Have you taken a close look at your childs handwriting? There has been so much improvement since the beginning of the year! Keep encouraging your child to use that neat writing while they work! We studied the letter G this week and came up with a great list of words! We enjoyed reading some special gingerbread stories, writing our own and worked in our reading books! We also have been working hard in our beginning reader books which your child has in their book bag to read to you! J
A little something we have been working on for the Auction! J

Next week we will study the letter C and continue practicing our independent reading and writing! There have been a few AR quizzes so far, keep up that reading at home! J

*MATH The 100th Day of Kindergarten! Monday, January 30th Kindergarten will celebrate the 100th day on Monday, January 30th! We will be doing many counting activities and it is sure to be a very special day! Collections of 100 items can be brought to school on Monday. These collections could be 100 pennies in a bag, 100 legos built into something special, 100 toothpicks on a poster board (in the shape of 100), etc. These are only suggestions and your child can be as creative as they like. Please be sure that you listen to your child count their 100 items independently. They are all such great counters and I want you to be as amazed as I am each day! J Please let me know if you would like other suggestions or have any questions. If there is anyone that would be willing to help with a special snack, please let me know. (It wont be anything too complicated, just some treats in the shape of zeros!) We have enjoyed reviewing patterns, number words, skip counting and other concepts in various games this week! We also had a special visit from Zero the Hero on Thursday which was the 90th day of school! Mrs. Belt found the bag in the 4th grade room and called us down ask your child what they had to do! Next week we will continue to review concepts, practice our skip counting and explore coins! Ask your child to begin thinking about their collection of 100 things! Its never too early to get started! SOME OTHER ITEMS . . . *Mrs. Jagels is our new Spanish teacher! Ask your child what words and phrases they practiced this week! *Mr. Marshall has been joining us for music! He is our student teacher for music this semester. *Please keep the Stapleton family and Baker family in your prayers as they have had a family member and friend enter their heavenly home.
