Key Skills & Attributes

BS degree (computer science or equivalent preferred) 3-4 years Experience with MS SQL Server 2005/2008 Administration (Must)

Experience creating and maintaining an extraction, transformation, and loading process from source systems (Must) Understanding of XML (Must) Ability to plan, organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously (Must)

Good communication skills required (Must) Database Administration, Tuning, Management & Security (Must) RDBMS

Hands on knowledge of SQL 2000/2005/2008 administration tasks 2-4 years of Experience in IT Industry in large projects as SQL Server DBA in production support role Worked in 24/7 production support environment with relevant ITIL experience

Ability to provide standard documentation of technology and processes and implement SQL Server infrastructure projects for SQL databases Strong Technical Knowledge in SQL Server 2000 , 2005, 2008 (sql engine functioning, TSQL, backup , recovery, database maintenance, installations, upgrades, migrations, application change deployments, database security, disaster recovery solutions, 3rd party compression / backup utilities) Strong troubleshooting skills in SQL Server 2000 , 2005, 2008 in production support environment Advanced DBA knowledge - Clustering, Partitioning, Performance Tuning, DB Infrastructure High Availability, Replication, Mirroring, VLDB DB maintenance. Windows related DNS, DHCP, Clustering, System troubleshooting Proven Database related Infrastructure skills

Ability to prepare high level document for SQL Server infrastructure solutions; support the same with relevant documentation during implementation Good Problem Solving skills Good attention to detail and strong focus on quality Results focused and should be a good team player

Ability to impart training and technical sessions amongst team and peers on relevant SQL Server and associated technologies

For L1 DBA Work Experience in SQL Server 2000, 2005 and SQL Server 2008. Should be willing to work in shifts. Should have strong communication skills and experience in handling bridge calls. Relevant Experience should be more than 4 Years. Should have worked in Database Refresh Scenarios and Orphan Users. Should have experience in troubleshooting database Connectivity & network related Issues. Should have experience in troubleshooting database performance issues and query tuning. Should have worked in High Availability Features like Log Shipping, DB Mirroring and Replication. Should have hands on experience in Database Clustering. Experience in patching SQL Server is mandatory. Experience in Installation of SQL Server would be an advantage. Experience in ITIL would an added advantage. Should have understanding about the database audits.
