Day 7 2nd Feb Takayama Go to JR Central, take the Takayama line to Takayama via hida limited express (08:43 Train, track 11, Hida Wideview) (if we can make it, theres a 7.43 train) Arrive at Takayama Best Western 10:57 put bags down at the reception. Buy bus + entrance tickets to Hida Folk village, 900 yen pp. Go Hida Folk village! Day 8 3rd Feb Kanazawa 07:42 train From Takayama to Inotani (JR Takayama), Transfer train to Toyama, Transfer Train To Kanazawa (thunderbird 18/Track 3) Arrive at 10:47 In Kanazawa Drop bags at hotel Nagamachi Bukeyashiki-ato (Nagamachi Samurai Residence (including Nomura Family Residence? ) 10 mins by bus Walk to Kanazawa Castle/ Kenroku-en garden (right next door) (check time, if we have time, we go to Ishikawa Prefectural history museum no.9 on map) Take bus to Myoryuji Temple Walk across to Kutani Pottery if possible Bus back? Day 9 4th Feb Kyoto Leave Kanazawa 18:51 Track 1 Taking Shirasagi 16 to Maibara, transferring to JR Special Rapid Service, arriving in Kyoto at 21:48 Check into Ks House ASAP!!! Day 10 Purchase Kyoto Sightseeing Card, 2 days Yogen-in Sanjusangendo Higashi and nishi Hongan-ji (optional) Umekoji steam locomotive museum Nijo Castle Day 11 Kyoto Walks First (NORTH EAST) Ginkakuji - Path of the Philosophers Get to the gate of Ginkaku-ji (looking at it)and turn left and walk toward to stone torii gate for about 1 minute. Just before the stone torii gate, turn right. Walk up into the mountain for about 2 or 3 minutes and you will come to a V in the path at a small shrine, take the path to the right. Fill your water bottle at the little spring just up from the head of the trail, this is the taste of Higashiyama. one hour climb to top of Mt Daimonji
