Welcome to the FlowBreeze Walkthrough. FlowBreeze is a text to flowchart automation add-in for Microsoft Excel.

Your First Flowchart - Instructions:

1. Click the FlowBreeze tab on the ribbon, then click the Sta

Flowchart Wizard

(Standard Edition Only)

In this section we will convert the text on the left side of the page into a flowchart using the Flowchart Wizard. Follow these steps:
1. Enter the text. For best results, enter the text in the approximate layout that you would like the flowchart to have. (In

this example, the text has already been entered.) 2. Click the Flowchart Wizard button on the toolbar. (This will open the Flowchart Wizard form.) 3. In Step 1, use the default settings and click Next.
4. Select the "Done?" entry. - In the Connectors section, click Add Connector. - Select "2" from the Connect To drop down. - Select "Right" in the Side column. - Enter "No" in the Branch Label column.

5. (Optional) You can click the Symbol and Style columns to customize the output. 6. Click Finish and FlowBreeze will generate the flowchart. 7. If needed, you can click and drag the shapes to re-position the flowchart. Also, clicking a connector (arrow), then clicking Reroute Connections from the toolbar will automatically route the connector to the shortest path.

Swim Lane Template Generator (Standard Edition Only) FlowBreeze Standard includes a Template Generator feature easy to create templates for Swim Lane diagrams. 1. Click Templates > Create Template on the ribbon.

Flowchart Editor (Standard Edition Only)

FlowBreeze Standard includes a Flowchart Editor feature that easy to change the formatting after the flowchart has been c 1. Click Edit Flowchart on the ribbon.

Adding Shapes:

You can also add addition shapes to your flowchart by clickin Start button and continuing a flowcharting session. Alternate you can use any of the tools in the Insert group on the ribbo to manually add shapes and connectors, then use the Flowch Editor to apply the styles.

More Features There are many other features beyond the scope of this walkthrough More features are covered in detail in the Help file, which can be viewed by clicking Help Contents from the FlowBreeze toolbar, then clicking the Open Help File button. Highlights include: Save as Picture:Exports the flowchart and/or sheet to an image file. Insert Branch: Adds branching structures such as those used in org charts. Insert Group Box: Adds a labeled box around a group of symbols. Create grid: Creates a grid on a normal worksheet. Toggle gridlines: Shows / hides worksheet gridlines. Apply styles: Applies the default style for each shape in one click.

1. Open the Excel Options screen: Excel 2010 - Click the File tab on the Excel ribbon (toolbar). - Click the Excel Options button in the left menu. Excel 2007 - Click the Office Button in the upper left corner of Excel. - Click the Excel Options button on the bottom of the menu. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Click Add-Ins in the left menu of the Excel Options window Click the Manage drop down, select Disabled Items from the list, then click the Go button. If FlowBreeze is listed, select it and click the Enable button. Restart Excel. You can view this file again by clicking About FlowBreeze > Open Walkthrough.

Why was FlowBreeze disabled?

FlowBreeze is digitally signed for security, and the first time FlowBreeze runs Excel validates the digital certificate via the issuing Certificate Authority's online server. If the validation takes too long, Excel may disable the FlowBreeze add-in if it slows the startup. If FlowBreeze was disabled on your system, we apologize for any inconvenience. Fortunately, after re-enabling the add-in this problem typically does not re-occur.
