Hardware exhibition & competition

Descripition:

This competition mainly focuses on the engineering ingenuity skills portrayed by students in variety of engineering projects they have developed during their academics. The competition provides the platform for showcasing all these creative projects so that they could be appreciated by all in true sense. The projects can be either research oriented or application oriented related to various diversified areas of communications, controls, instrumentation, robotics, optics, mechatronics and other areas.

Preliminary Evaluation

1. Team members for the Hardware Exhibition & competition should not exceed 3 members. 2. Teams will be served on "first come first serve" basis. 3. The following must be emailed with subject of email as "HARDWARE" at ______________; 4. Group Introduction 5. Project Abstract (200-250 words). 6. 1 Page Document with complete Project features. 7. Tools Used. - Future Scope of Project

Rules and Regulations 1. Only students of Universities & Institutes are allowed to participate. 2. For computer interfacing projects, the only transferable mediums allowed for software are CD ROMs and USB device. Hard Disks are strictly prohibited. 3. Project must have a proper documentation (poster, block, diagrams etc.). 4. The projects will be on display for general public. The participants are required to be present with the project to demonstrate it. 5. Participants must inform the Hardware Exhibition & Competition management Team about any hardware or software they bring along with them, in order to better deal with Security Department. 6. A panel of judges will evaluate each project during the event organized at FAST-NU, Karachi Campus. Participants are required to be present at the time of evaluation of their Project by the panel of judges. (Note: Different judges will visit projects at different times). 7. 8. Acceptance to provide any extra hardware is subject to its availability. In any case the participants are encouraged to bring their own hardware. 9. Any prototype not executing properly will not be considered for evaluation.

10. If any project is found to be a replica of another project, the act shall be considered cheating and judges can disqualify participants and the entry fee shall be forfeited. 11. Only selected projects will be exhibited. Participants will not be allowed to display anything other than the selected projects.. 13.In all matters regarding competition, decision of the organizing committee and the judges will be considered final and binding on all participants.

Judgment Criteria - Working Project - Novelty of design and Idea - Practical Aspects - Knowledge - Presentation

The panel of judges shall comprise of representatives from Industries. The panel shall be responsible for judging the projects and deciding the winners of the competition. The decision of the panel shall be final therefore; no participant or Team can challenge the decision.
