Power-Supply Failure Alarm

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
We take this opportunity to express our deep sense of gratitude and
respect towards our

Co-Ordinator Projects, Mr. Kausar Ali,

Lecturer, Sub Co-Ordinator Projects, Mr. Mitesh Jindal, Lecturer,

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Vivekananda
Institute of Technology. We are very much indebted to them for the
generosity, expertise and guidance; we have received from them while
working on this project and throughout our studies. Without their support
and timely guidance, the completion of our project would have seemed a
far-fetched dream. In this respect we find ourselves lucky to have them as
our Project Co-Ordinators. They have guided us not only with the
subject matter, but also taught us the proper style and techniques of
working.
We are grateful to our respected Head of Department, Mr. Sanjiv
Kumar and all the staff members of Department of Electronics &
Communication Engineering for their constant encouragement.

Power-Supply Failure Alarm

ABSTRACT

At the time of power failure, it will feed power to the alarm circuit which sounds
an alarm without any need of separate power supply for themselves. Most
of the power-supply failure indicator circuits need a separate powersupply for themselves. But the alarm circuit presented here needs no
additional supply source. It employs an electrolytic capacitor to store
adequate charge, to feed power to the alarm circuit which sounds an
alarm for a reasonable duration when the main supply fails.
