There cannot be an IF Aline Demirjian

For so long weve been struggling to get recognition of the Armenian Genocide by different nations, trying to make justice for the worst crime of humanity, and restoring the dignity and the pride of the 1.5 million martyrs. However, often, the efforts and the struggles of the surviving generations have been met with the ridicule of the so called power nations. These nations that pride themselves that they fight for humanity, for freedom, for justice, they dont get ashamed of trading a humanitarian cause with political achievements. Our heroes do not deserve to be massacred again. Our cause does not need to be shot over and over again. A massacre, whether it is for the death of one person, or the life of 1.5 million, should not be the subject of a trade. It doesnt work saying I will recognize the genocide, if you elect me, or while addressing Turkey If you intimidate us politically, we will recognize the Armenian Genocide. The recognition cannot start with an IF and it should not include an IF. It is just pure mortification by the nations that represent the humanity. Who wants to be part of this mockery of life? For those who say that a group of historians should be created to debate and discuss the events of 1915 and whether it was genocide or not, in reality, they should create a group of psychologists to discourse the diminishing aspects of the humankind. Living in darkness, creates more darkness. And this is the case of the humankind. What does it really take to acknowledge the fact that the death of 1.5 million martyrs was genocide? Pictures? Videos? Statements? Historic Books? What? Only a fool will go down the path of this argument. If recognition will be based on self-interests and political achievements, it will not be a proper recognition. Its only a political statement and marketing for that country, who brags to be a world leader. A leader does not put his own interests in place of the interests of the whole organization. And in this case, the organization is the world, and the leaders, they are the power nations who seem to be leading the world. Thus, these leaders cannot put the interests of their own political agenda in place of whats best for the humanity representing the whole world. And the recognition of the Armenian Genocide is a human/global cause. Recognizing it is not a favor for the Armenians or a trade for another political subject. Recognizing it is defending for humanity. Recognizing it is saying that the world is a safer place for human society to live in peace. Recognizing is simply penalizing genocide, and all those who commit it shall not go unpunished. Recognizing is saying that whats leading us in dark periods, towards the light

symbolizing the hope for humanity, is the human conscience, and not some political/inhuman interests.
