1.0 Introduction
The solar panels are associated with the Power subsystem because the solar cells
mounted on these panels will convert sunlight into electricity and help power HokieSat.
Each solar panel will contain an array of solar cells that is made up of several soldered
strings. At the end and in between of each string will be wires that lead either to another
string or the inside of the satellite. All eight solar panels (six sides, one top, one bottom)
were designed individually to accommodate the uniqueness of each surface. This
included maximizing the number of solar cells on each surface and at the same time
avoiding other physical features.
