ADVANTAGES OF STEEL
Low maintenance
Galvanized steel poles have an expected life of 80 years or more. Steel poles come pre-drilled and require minimal maintenance.

Ease of installation
Steel poles are approximately 1/3 the weight of wood poles and less than 1/5 the weight of concrete poles, making transportation less expensive and the pole easier, safer and faster to handle and install.

Uniformity and safety

Steel poles are of consistent quality. Under extreme environmental conditions steel poles may bend but not shear or break. Steel poles are not susceptible to structural damage from insect infestation or fire. Steel behaviour is reliable. Steel poles can be grounded during live-line installations while other materials cannot.

Environmentally Friendly
The environmental impact of chemical leaching of preservatives in the surrounding ground soil and water by wood poles is a developing issue for the utility and wood treatment industries. Steel is recyclable and has a salvage value, i.e. no disposal cost. In addition, tapered galvanized steel poles are aesthetically pleasing.

Facilit dinstallation

Uniformit et scurit
les poteaux en acier sont dune qualit constante. Dans des conditions climatiques extrmes, les poteaux en acier peuvent plier mais ne se cisaillent pas et ne cassent pas. Les poteaux en acier ne sont pas sensibles aux dommages structurels infligs par des insectes ou par le feu. Le comportement de lacier est faible ; les poteaux en acier peuvent tre mis la terre pendant les travaux sous tension alors que ce nest pas possible avec dautres matriaux.

Ecologique
limpact sur lenvironnement du lessivage chimique des produits dimprgnation provenant des poteaux en bois dans la terre et leau environnante est une proccupation qui prend de lampleur dans les secteurs du traitement du bois et du transport de lnergie. Lacier est recyclable et a une valeur rsiduelle, sans frais de mise en rebut, en outre, les poteaux coniques en acier galvanis sont esthtiquement plaisants.

El impacto sobre el medioambiente de la lixiviacin qumica de los productos de impregnacin procedentes de los postes de madera en la tierra y el agua cercana es una preocupacin que toma importancia en los sectores del tratamiento de la madera, del alumbrado y del transporte de la energa. El acero es reciclable y tiene un valor residual, sin gasto de desecho. Adems, los postes cnicos de acero galvanizado son agradables desde un punto de vista esttico.

Our range of transmission monopoles is completely suited for todays international utility market. Our transmission products, or Transpole, are of high strength, address major concerns such as safety and reliability, and are available in heights up to 83M (272 ft) and voltages up to 500 kV.

H-FRAMES STRUCTURES
H-Frame structures are one of the most cost efficient ways of providing power to customers. Not only are they reliable and predictable as to their performance, but also provides a very small footprint which can easily be worked around. The galvanized structure, with its dull grey finish is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and almost transparent against a sky background. H-Frames normally are in the 20M (70 ft) range with voltages from 35 to 115 kV.

Distripole, the tradename used for our line of preengineered steel utility distribution poles, are manufactured using our proprietary welding technology. The Electrical Resistance Welding is a cost-effective support process being sold to our global markets. The round-conical shape adapts well to all the accessories currently being used by alternatives and saves on installation costs, thanks to its light weight. The use of high tensile strength steel also makes our pole resistant to extreme weather conditions.

Distripoles are pre-drilled during manufacturing, thereby avoiding and/or reducing any field drilling. The poles are protected by hot-dip galvanizing making them virtually maintenance-free. Most importantly, Distripoles are environmentally friendly being completely recyclable, with a salvage value.

Our poles comply with strict local specifications. They can withstand loadings 3x that of wood poles. A steel pole returns to its original position when the load is released, even after the load has been applied constantly for a number of months. Standard products are typically 7 and 8 M (23 ft).

WIND MILLS
Petitjean/IUSI tubular steel construction lends itself very well to Windmill applications. The high loadings put on poles for windmills are easily accommodated with our range of structures. Our engineers have designed a product that incorporates the vertical loadings of a generator, the horizontal wind inflection, as well as the vibrational forces of a turbine load. Given the exposed location of Windmills, our galvanized product provides a strong, durable structure at very competitive price for our customers. Furthermore, the low maintenance needed on the poles reduces down time for the turbine, thus saving valuable wattage hours. Petitjean/IUSI is the cost competitive alternative for todays competitive utility market.

The Universal Pole Band and Mounting Kit help in mounting objects, signs, or nameplates to most Petitjean/IUSI poles. All tools are firmly contained in a padded safety case.

Hold the body of the step in one hand with the hook pointing up.

3 Rotate the step 90 degrees so that the hook becomes horizontal and is pointing towards you. The wedge will just hang there.

4 Maintain the horizontal attitude while placing the head of the hook against the hole. Once in position use the head of the hook as a pivot point to swing the body of the step approximately 45 degrees towards you.

5 Guide the tip of the hook into the hole and swing the body of the step back 45 degrees so the step becomes perpendicular to the pole.

6 Now apply a gentle outward pulling pressure so the hook comes up against the inside of the pole. At the same time twist your wrist to rotate the body of the step so the hook is pointing up inside the pole. The wedge will just hang loose.
