Kills bacteria by binding to and inactivating penicillin-binding proteins on the inner bacterial cell wall Weakening bacterial cell wall and causing lysis.

To treat ear, nose, throat, GU tract, skin and softtissue infections caused by susceptible gram positive or gram negative organisms. To treat lower respiratory tracty infection. To treat gonorrhea and acute uncomplica ted anogenital and urethral infections.

Hypersensitivit y to amoxicillin or its components Use cautiously with patient who have hepatic impairment.

Monitor hepatic and renal function and CBC as ordered in patients receiving prolonged therapy. Also those patients who are breastfeedi ng. If allergic reaction occurs, stop amoxixillin immediatle y and provide emergency care as indicated and ordered. Monitor closely for diarrhea.

Acts to normalize RBC production by binding with hemoglobin or by being oxidized and stored as hemosiderin or aggregated ferritin in reticuloendotheli al cells of the liver, spleen and bone marrow. Iron is an essential component of hemoglobin, myoglobin and several enzymes including cytochromes, catalase and perioxidase. Iron is needed for catecholamine metabolism and normal neutrophil function.

Give iron tablet and capsules with a full glass of water or juice. Dont crush entericcoated tablets or open capsules. Dilute and administer with a straw or place drops in back of patients throat. Mix the elixir form in water. Protect liquid form from freezing. Monitor patient for signs of overdose which may include abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, severe vomiting and sharp abdominal cramps.
