Introduction My friends, in todays Gospel, people listened to Jesus in a setting much like ours today they were at worship.

. And the worshipers were spellbound as Jesus taught them. Jesus speaks to us today, too. Let us resolve to listen carefully, to put away distractions during our time together and be attentive to Gods message for us.

Toy Drive for Childrens Ward MSA is looking for: wooden puzzles, dolls, board games, books, DVDs, music mobiles for baby cribs and building blocks (no Lego) to donate to the Gosling Ward at KEMH. Please, NO stuffed animals! Batteries are also greatly appreciated! Please drop off the items to the School Office by January 31. For more information, please contact Lisa Stevens at lstevens@msa.bm Caritas House of Prayer Activities Caritas House of Prayer: Quiet Wednesday: Rosary at 10:30 a.m., followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until 5:15 p.m. There will be Mass at 6 p.m. on this coming Wednesday, February 1 with Father Joseph Morley. Next Bible Study sessions will be on February 8 and 15 at 3:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. All are invited. Womens Retreat: A womens retreat will be held at Grotto Bay Hotel on the weekend of February 24 26. The presenter will be Sister Patricia Wilson. The theme of the retreat will be Lent: A Time of AtOne-Ment. This would be a wonderful way to begin the Lenten Seasona weekend vacation with the Lord. There is room for a few more retreatants. For further information, call Sister Judith or Sister Dolores at 236-5877. We know it seems costly but remember it includes five meals, set-up and use of the room for presentations and all gratuities as well as a stipend for Sister Pat. Registration Forms with details, cost, etcetera are at the entrance of the church and need to be returned to Sister Judith with a $50 deposit by February 9. The registration forms can be left with Fr. Paul, dropped off at the Diocesan Center or at Caritas. The full payment will be due with checks payable to the Sisters of Charity either before or upon arrival at the hotel on February 24. All women 18 and over are invited. World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life The annual Eucharistic Celebration of Religious Life will be held at St. Patricks Church on Thursday, February 2 at 7:30 p.m. The World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life provides the Church with an opportunity to celebrate the vowed life of the Religious who serve in our Diocese the Sisters of Charity and the Congregation of the Resurrection. Their contribution to the Catholic life in Bermuda has been significant. Please come out and witness their renewal of vows, support them in their commitment, and pray for vocations to the Religious life. New Website to Promote Vocations Vocationculture.ca is up and running! A new website that is designed to help us discover and celebrate vocations to Married Life, Single Life, Consecrated Life, the Priesthood, and Permanent Diaconate. And to kick it off Fr. Toby Collins, C.R. is traveling to meet people living out these vocations in Poland, Rome, France, and other parishes near and far. Special Collection for the Holy See If you were unable to contribute to the special collection for the Holy See last weekend, please consider making a donation this weekend. Additional envelopes are available at the entrance to the church for your convenience. Please drop the envelope into the collection basket with your usual Sunday offering. Thank you for your continued generosity. Envelopes for Sunday Offerings There are many packets of envelopes still available at the entrance to the church. Please help yourselves to a packet and use it as a means of thoughtful stewardship. No names or numbers are recorded; no receipts given. Use these envelopes as a personal commitment towards the support of your church. Marriage Preparation for 2012 The mandatory five-week pre-marriage preparation program starts February 29 and ends March 28, 2012. All sessions take place at St. Theresa's Cathedral Hall, Laffan Street, on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 9:30 p.m. Please see Fr. Paul for a registration form. All couples are required to speak to their pastor prior to the first session. Ecumenical Friendship Social/Tea On Saturday, February 11, from 2 5 p.m., St. Phillips will host men and women from the Smiths parish area in an afternoon of fun, fellowship, tea, and goodies. Invite a senior all are welcome! P.A.L.S. 24th Annual Sponsored Walk P.A.L.S. was founded in 1980 to provide service to allow cancer patients to remain in their homes rather than being hospitalized. P.A.L.S. is a registered charity that relies on the generosity of the community to continue its work. Please join them on their 24th Annual Sponsored Walk on Sunday, February 12, at 7:30 a.m. from Dockyard to Albuoys Point. There will be no registration on the day so sign up now at the Washington Mall or at the P.A.L.S. office: 18 Point Finger Road, Paget. Argus Walks the Walk -- RAIN or SHINE!
