General Information

1.1 BRIEF HISTORY


Balaji wafers is private limited company. It was established in1981 Rajkot with help of the capital & resource. And then in the year 1981-1982 they started the balaji wafers limited. A small quantity which had capital resources. Day after day started, various units and they invested more capital, so their development is growing very quickly. Till 2004-2005 balaji wafers limited 26 employees permanent. All employees are percents on job training, but non in the current year all the work are done

automatically with the help of modern machinery and equipment for development of company.

1.2 OBJECTIVE OF THE COMPANY


Balaji wafers limited has developed in large quantity due to the good distribution dealing and quantity products produced by them .their main objective were as follow: Their main objective is to provide good services to the customer. Their another objective is provide necessary resources required for They have even thought of minimum wastage of products .as they management system believe in minimum input and maximum output

Production process is that part of an organization which is concerned with .the transaction of a range of input the require quality. Production and operations management conversion of input into outputs. 3.1 INTRODUCTION

The management of people can be said as a process of your step-getting them preparing them, activating them and keeping them. The field of personnel management i.e. personnel management is a very complicated and challenging task for organization

Personnel hold a key place in industry. The success of business enterprise also mainly depends to a large extend on the quality of its personnel. More ever the growth of business depends on the wiliness ability and can gaist and function without employee.

3.2 Recruitment & selection


Recruitment is a process of searching for and obtaining application for jobs from among whom the right people can be selected. Thus requirement is a process of finding and attracting capable for employment. By selection we mean a process by which the qualified personnel can be choosen from the applicants who have offered their services to the organisation for

employment. It is a negative process of employment in which only a few who quality for the job are offered employment and other are denied the opportunities. Dale yoder defines selection as the process which candidates for employment are divided into two classes- those who are to be offered employment and those who are not. The steps of the selection process are as follows.

Training is a learning experience in there it seeks relatively permanent charge in an individual that will improve his ability to perform on the job. How they work, their

The function of the welfare department is basically to be engaged in the welfare of employees the function of the welfare department is as under.

Balaji parivar provides canteen facilities to the employees, where all are treated equally.

The arrangement of cricket matches and cultural programs are hold for the entertainment of the workers. Also monthly home visit is taken at the houses of the company employees.

For transfer policies it is necessary to have a proper job description and job analysis, care should be taken to ensure that frequent or large scale transfer are avoided by laying down adequate selection and placement procedures for the purpose. But in balaji wafers has adopted katariya transpot.

3.8 WAGES & SALARY ADMINISTRATION


Wages and salary administration implies the compensation paid to the employees for their services and their work. Wages are paid to the laboures and salary is paid to the employees. It includes such as wages evaluation, survey of wages and salary, analysis of relevant orgnisational problems, development and maintenance of wages structure, establishing rules for administration of wages, wage payment incentives, profit sharing, wages change and adjustments, supplementary payments, control of compensation costs and other related items. Proper and regular salary and wages are paid to the employees and workers of the Balaji wafers. the payment of salary and wages depends upon the performance appraisal. The yearly performance appraisal helps to make any type of increase or decrease in the salary and wages of employees and workers.

3.9 TIME KEEPING SYSTEM


To keep the records of employees presence, absence, time of arrival, time of departure etc. is called time keeping system. Balaji wafers L.t.d. has different time keeping system for employees and workers. For this purpose, punching cards are used for workers and registers are used for employees in which they put their signature when they enter in the office. So far as leave rules are concerned, four types of leaves are granted: Privilege leave Causal leave Sick leave Leave without pay

3.10 PERFORMANCE APPRISAL SYSTEM


Once the employee is selected, trained and motivated, he is then apprised for his performance. Appraisal is the step where management finds out how effective it has been at hiring and placing employees. Problems are identified and steps are taken to communicate with the employees and to remedy them. Performance appraisal is a process of evaluating an employees performance on job in terms of its requirements. In Balaji wafers Ltd. yearly performed appraisal is done by the human resources department. The performance appraisal done is reviewed by the head of the department and further by the Managing Director. If any problem is found with the employees, remedial steps are taken for the same.

3.11 JOB DESCRIPTION & JOB SPECIFICATION

Job description is a document which helps personnel department to understand the scope of job activities, measure responsibilities and the positions of the jobs in the organisation. Job description describes the job and not the job-holder. Job specification is a statement of acceptable human qualities necessary to perform the job. It specifies the type of person required in terms of educational qualification experience, Aptitude etc. Edwin Filppo defines job specification as a statement of minimum acceptable human qualities necessary to perform a job properly. The company has a job description for managerial level describing the duties and the responsibilities, place of work, extent of supervision etc. used in the job. It has also job specification defining the physical, psychological and personal characteristics and qualification of the job holder. An appropriate candidate is selected by job specification and job holder becomes well aware of their own responsibility due to job description and they try to fulfill it as for as it is possible for them.
