Analysis of Different type of Videos

To study behaviour of video quality we have taken three different videos in terms of changes per frame and speed of motion. 1) Claire- news reader (only facial movement and very slow motion speed) 2) Silent- Deaf news reader(facial movement, hand movement and medium motion speed) 3) Coastguard(moving boat and steamer in opposite direction with high motion speed) Analysis based on types of network To study behaviour of video quality over network, we have taken 1) Best effort delivery 2) DiffServ Architecture (for QoS and priority) Claire-news reader: When we transmit this video with best effort delivery, there is no any packet loss cause of little bit movement and very low motion. We get PSNR value above 37(<37) which shows excellent quality of frames as per PSNR-MOS table. When we transmit this video with DiffServ Architecture, we get same result as we get in Best-effort delivery.

Silent-Deaf news reader: When we transmit this video with best effort delivery, there is no any packet loss cause of facial-hand movement and medium speed motion. We get PSNR value between 33 to 35, which shows good quality of frames as per PSNRMOS table. When we transmit this video with DiffServ Architecture, we get same result as we get in Best-effort delivery. Coastguard:

When we transmit this video with best effort delivery, there is highly packet drop cause of object overlapping and high speed motion. We get PSNR value below 20 from frame no. 50 to 200 which shows bad quality of frames as per PSNR-MOS table. When we transmit this video with DiffServ Architecture, we get PSNR value above 20 from frame no. 150 to 200 which shows poor frame quality as per PSNR-MOS table but PSNR value comparatively good than Best-effort delivery. With DiffServ Architecture, we can observe that PSNR value is in Zigzag manner whereas with best effort delivery we get continues low PSNR values which affect Quality of Experience. This effect can be seen during frame no. 150 to frame no. 200. To understand the effect of network, we have taken one more video called foreman. Foreman: When we transmit this video with best effort delivery and DiffServ Architecture, from frame no. 250 to 370, we get PSNR value below 20 with Best-effort which shows bad quality frame, while we get PSNR value above 30 with DiffServ Architecture which shows good quality frame.

Video quality analysis based on Frames: I-, P-, B- Frames size varies as per video types. This parameter can be used to assess video quality and set QoS parameter accordingly. I-, P-, B- frames size changes based on changes in frame compare to previous frame and speed of motion. I-Frame Size: I-Frame size is always greater than P-, B- Frames. I-Frame size is varies for different kinds of video based on changes in frame. We can understand this by analysis I-Frame size for above videos.

Claire video has very few changes (only facial movement) per frame and very low speed motion, so I-Frame size is nearly 1600 and there is no drastic change in consecutive frames. We get excellent quality for this video. Silent video has few changes (facial and hand movement) per frame and medium speed motion, so I-Frame size is nearly 3100(approx. Double than Claire video) and there is no drastic change in consecutive frames. We get good quality for this video. Coastguard video has high changes per frame when object overlap and high speed motion, so I-frame size varies between 2800 to approx. 4000. There are drastic changes in I-Frame size in coastguard video, when object overlap. cause of bursty traffic packet are loss during transmission. P-Frame Size: P-Frame size is always greater than B- Frame. P-Frame size is varies for different kinds of video based on changes per frame. We can understand this by analysis P-Frame size for above videos.

Claire video has no changes or minor changes per frame and low motion so Pframe size is about 200(very low size) for whole video. Silent video has few changes per frame and medium motion speed so P-Frame size is varies from 200 to 600 in zigzag manner. Coastguard video has object overlapping and high motion, so P-Frame size is varies from 800 to 2000. When there is change in frame and speed P-frame size is increase up to 2000.

B-Frame Size: B-Frame size is smaller compare to other frames.B-Frame size is varies in zigzag manner.

Claire video has B-Frame size between 0 to 200. Silent video has B-Frame size between 200 to 400.B-Frame size is increase upto 600 when there is change occur. Coastguard video has B-Frame size start with 200 to 1200. B-frame size is increase as change per frame and motion speed increase. Total no. of frames: Total number of B-Frame is very high compare to I-, P- frames. B-Frame size is very low but total number of B-Frame is high so B-Frame has its own importance. B-Frame is nearer to I-Frame so I-Frame size affects B-Frame.

Analysis baesd on Importance of Frames: Claire video and silent video have minor changes and low speed motion, so we can not analyse importance of frames in such type of video. If we loose complete GoP for minor changes and low speed motion, we can not see effect as framerate is 30fps and generally GoP size is 13-15 frames. we take video with object overlapping, scene change and high speed motion to understand importance of I-, P- and B- Frames. In our case we can take coastguard video as well as foreman video. If we loss I-Frame, PSNR value decrease continuesly for consecutive frames for frame no. 40 to 60 in Coastguard video. In contrast if we loss B-Frame we have comparatively good PSNR value.

I-Frame has more importance to B-Frame but in high speed motion video we can not ignore the importance of B-Frame.for high speed motion B-frame loss impact on QoE of video same as I-Frame.
