Five times Academy Oscar Award winner, including Best director in 1999, Saving Private Ryan is set in Normandy, France in the 1945. The American troops who are a part of an allied force land on Omaha beach and aim to push the Germans out of France. 2. This movie has a strong, serious, and dramatic theme. The story of movie is about a private (allied forces soldier) named Ryan (Matt Damon) fighting in world war two. His three brothers were already killed in action on the war front of same war within days of one another. Therefore General George Marshall in higher command on knowing this sorrowful fact decided to rescue Ryan at any cost and sent back to his home where his mother was alone. He tasked a team of eight soldiers headed by Tom Hanks playing Captain Miller to rescue Ryan safely who was dropped on D-Day in German occupied territories. Unfortunately no one knows where he is because of mis-drops. 3. During the mission, the rescue faced many hard tasks of war losing two of their men and at one point the team almost falls apart. It is truly a heart breaking moment. At the end of the movie they finally find Private Ryan. Surprisingly he decided not to leave his post (protect a key bridge) and fight until reinforcment comes. The captain than decides to stay and help them fight until help comes. They prepare for the German attack and await them. Once the Germans do come, a big battle brakes out and the fight starts. After a horrible fight, only two out of eight rangers and private Ryan survive, the captain dies. The reinforcements came at the last minute and the bridge was saved, but left Ryan with horrible memories of war. 4. One of the important facts in the movie was none of the soldiers saw real importance of the mission. It seemed too dangerous to put eight of their lives for one of private Ryan. Captain Miller showed his loyalty for the assignment and died in action saving Ryan. The strongest message of movie was how devastating and brutal war is and it should be stopped at any cost. The movie id on the bloodiest war front of world war, i.e., Normandy landing and that too at Omaha beach. This film is one of the most important contributions to cinema ever.
