T will form groups of three with the entire class. T will have each group get a volleyball. T will explain that Ss will start in their group on the black line. T will explain that each group must get the volleyball to the other end of the gymnasium using only three passes. The volleyball cannot hit the ground or be dribbled. T will allow Ss to find their own way to the other side with different ways to pass the volleyball. T will explain that if a group drops the volleyball they must start back at the black line. When a group reaches one end they must then turn around and come back to the other end. This will continue for five minutes, from one end of the gymnasium to the other. This warm-up is used as a lead up to understanding the rules of Tchouckball. T will allow Ss five minutes to work on the warm-up.

Safety: T will use the entire gymnasium floor space so that Ss have adequate space participate in the warm-up. Students will be reminded to be aware of their surroundings in

order to prevent any collisions. Variations: Remediation: T will have Ss stand stationary and just practice passing the volleyball back and fourth. Enrichment: T will have Ss go back and fourth from one end of the gymnasium to the other only passing the volleyball two times. After the instant activity T will have Ss learn how to throw and defend shots during Tchouckball game play. T will divide class into two groups an put each group on either side of the gymnasium. One group per net. Hot Potato: a. Ss will stand outside the crease (3 feet) away from the net. b. Ss will throw the ball at the net and another S will catch the rebound and pass it off to someone else that is not standing on

next to them on their left or right. c. When the next person receives the pass they are to shoot the ball at the net for another S in the group to receive and hand off immediately d. So Ss are handing and shooting the ball quickly as if it was a hot potato.

After about 5-8 minutes T will stop this activity and move into full game play for Tchouckball During the activity T will be circulating the gymnasium ensuring that all rules to the game are being followed and that all Ss are participating.

After the Hot Potato Drill, T will stop this activity and explain to the class the rules of Tchouckball. Tchouckball a. Both teams can only pass the ball three times, and the ball cannot touch the ground at any time. If the ball touches the ground it is a turnover. b. When shooting the shooter cannot step inside the crease around the net. If they do it is an automatic turnover. c. To score you must shoot the ball at the net and get it past the other teams defenders. If the defenders stop the ball (catch it) then they obtain possession and begin their attempt to score on the other end of the court.

T will take the two groups used in the hot potato activity and make them the two teams used in the Tchouckball game. T will explain that the first team to 10 wins. Then T will start another game at zero. During the activity T will be circulating the gymnasium ensuring that all rules to the game are being followed and that all Ss are participating.

Remediation: T can have Ss play three on three in a round robin to become better acquainted with game play. Enrichment: T will break the class into four teams and have both games only using half the court.
