Dear Raleigh Water Customer:

Due to recent rainfall events and improved conditions at Falls Lake, the Raleigh City Council has moved to rescind the Revised
Stage 1 Mandatory Water Use Restrictions, which have been in effect since May 28, 2008, and implement the Everyday Perma-
nent Water Conservation Rules.

Use of Raleigh supplied potable water is limited to no more than 3 days per week with a maximum accumulation of 1 inch per
week. The irrigation days are based on odd or even property addresses where irrigation is to occur and limited to the time period
specified for the type of irrigation.

Please refer to the City's web page at www.raleighnc.gov for complete information, and the chart below is a short
summary of Everyday Permanent Water Conservation Rules:

Lawn & landscape irrigation in ground Odd Property Addresses
automatic/non-automatic systems Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 12:00 AM till 10:00 AM
Even Property Addresses
llfednesdar. Prickly, Sunday 12:00 AM till 10:00 AM

Lawn & landscape irrigation by garden Odd Property Addresses: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
hose-end sprinklers 6:00 AM till 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM till 10:00 PM
Even Property Addresses: Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
6:00 AM till 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM till 10:00 PM

Hand Held Hose Not Regulated


Drip Irrigation Not Regulated
Swimming Pools Not Regulated
Vehicle Washing Not Regulated
Pressure Washing Not Regulated

In addition, water from the City of Raleigh public water supply shall not be served in a public restaurant for drinking water except
upon specific request by customers.
Hotels/Motels and Bed and Breakfast inns served by the City of Raleigh Public water supply shall ask guests staying more than
one night to use towels and bed linens more than once between laundering.

Customers who are installing a new lawn or landscaping may apply for a $50.00 permit to allow for irrigation everyday for one 45
day period from the date of installation.

Violation of this ordinance will result in the issuance of a Notice of Violation, and a written warning for a first offence, a Civil
Penalty in the amount of $50.00 for the second violation, $200.00 for a third violation and a fourth violation will result in the
interruption of water service.
