AllahorderedustobestowprayersupontheProphet(Allahblesshimandgranthimpeace but wearecertainthatweareunabletodoanythingofourownaccord,soinsteadofaNempMngto dosowerequestthatAllahHimselfbestowsprayersontheProphet.Hecalledthisrequestof oursprayersfromusandsaid:Bestowprayersandpeaceuponhiminabundance.1Inreality, however,theseprayersarefromHimasweareincapableofbestowingthemourselves.Thatis whyifwewishtobestowprayersupontheProphetwesayOAllahorOLord..bestowprayers uponhim. IfallyouracMonswereplacedononesideofthescalesandoneprayerfromAllahwasplacedon theother,theprayerfromAllahwouldoutweighthemall.YouracMonscannotbecomparedto theacMonsoftheLordoftheWorlds.InfactwerenotonlyyouracMons,butallthegoodacMons ofthewholeofcreaMonfromtheMmeofAdamtotheDayofJudgementplacedononesideof thescalesandoneprayerfromtheLordoftheWorldswasplacedontheother,theprayerfrom AllahwouldoutweighallthoseacMons.ThisisoneprayersowhatabouttenprayersthatAllah sendsinexchangeforoneprayerupontheProphetMuhammad(Allahblesshimandgranthim peace)?

HowtoBestowPrayersUponHimandtheirEect
BestowingprayersupontheProphet (Allahblesshimandgranthimpeace) strengthensyour connecMonwithAllahandMessengersinceindoingsoyouarerememberingbothAllahandHis Messenger.Thisisespeciallytrueifyoudoitinastateofintense love,longingandvenera?on. YoushouldbeawarewhiledoingsothatthesourceofeveryblessingwhichAllahhasbestowed uponyouandthewholeofcreaMonisMuhammadandthathissublimelightwasthebeginning pointofcreaMon.Alsotrytopicturehiminfrontofyouwhileyoubestowprayersuponhim (especiallyifyouhaveseenhimpreviously)orpictureyourshaykhorhisblessed Masjidorhis RawdahorhisShubak.2SendprayersuponhimasifyouwerethereunMlthedoorisopenedto youandtheveilisli>ed. Ifyoubestowprayersuponhiminthisstateitwillbringlimitlessbenetsandwillbearfruits thatnoneofyouracMonscouldbring. ItwillbeameansofpuricaMonandassistyouinyourjourneytoAllah.Ifyoudonothavea shaykhitwillbeacauseofyoubeingunitedwithhim;ifyoualreadyhaveashaykh,itwill

strengthenyourspiritualconnecMontohimsothatthedoortotheProphetcanbeopenedmore swi>ly. ThehadithofUbbaybinKa`bissucientevidenceofthebenetsofbestowingprayersupon theProphet.HesaidtotheMessengerofAllah(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim) :Isend prayersuponyouanddosoinabundance.HowmuchofmyprayersshouldImakeforyou? OnemeaningofthisishowmuchofmyMmeshouldIspendbestowingprayersuponyou? Anothermeaning,whichisclosertothewordingofthehadith,ishowmuchoftherewardof theprayersshouldIdonatetoyou? Heasked:HowmuchofmyprayersshouldImakeforyou?Aquarter? TheMessengerofAllahreplied:Ifyouwish,andifyoudomoreitisbeNerforyou. Half? Ifyouwish,andifyoudomoreitisbeNerforyou. Twothirds? Ifyouwish,andifyoudomoreitisbeNerforyou. InthatcaseIwillmakeallofmyprayersforyou. Ifyoudothat,yourworrieswillberemovedandyoursinswillbeforgiven. 3 IfsomeonesworrieshavebeenremovedandhissinshavebeenforgiventhenhehasaNained felicityinthislifeandthenext.MayAllahremoveourworriesandforgiveoursinsthroughHis Beloved,thehealerofourhearts.

TheRela?onshipbetweenBestowingPrayersupontheProphetandCallingtoAllah
WemustallotaporMonofMmeinwhichwebestowprayersontheChosenOne.Noonecanbe acallertoAllahiftheydonotspendsomeMmebestowingprayersupontheonewhorstcalled toAllahandguidedpeopletoHim.Inreality,noonecallstoAllahexceptasarepresentaMve anddeputyofhim. WhensomeonebestowsprayersupontheProphet(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim)andthen calls people to Allah a light emanates from his mouth which reaches the people that are listening.ThepeoplearethusaecteddirectlybytheProphetandbythelightoftheprayers, notbythespeakerhimself.ThusifsomeonebestowsabundantprayersupontheProphetand thencallspeopletoAllahhiswordshaveagreateectonthoseheiscalling.

ThosecallingtoAllahhavereceivedmanyopeningsa>errepeaMngtheprayerwhichSayyiduna MuhammadalBakriandothersreceivedfromtheProphet(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim) :

AllahinspiredintheCompanionsandtheknowersofAllahthosethatcamea>erthemamazing prayersupontheProphetwhichhaveagreateectuponandilluminatetheonereadingthem. YoushouldreadaporMonoftheseprayersregularlybecausetheyareprayersthatemanated fromthosewhoareinhispresence(peaceandblessingsbeuponhim) .Thosewhocomposed them or received them have knowledge of him which cannot be described and which you cannotcomecloseto.Ifyoupraywiththeprayersthatemanatedfromtheirheartsyouwill receivepreciousgi>sfromthem.Itwillbeacauseforyoutobeswi>lybroughtcloseandto reachlo>ystaMons.OAllah,donotdepriveusofallthegoodnessthatYoupossessbecauseof theevilthatyoupossess! OAllah,bestowYourprayersandpeaceuponourMasterMuhammad,theonewho opensthatwhichisclosed,thesealofthosethatcamebefore,thedefenderoftruth withtruthandtheguidetoYourstraightpath(anduponhisFamilyandCompanions),in accordancethegreatnessofhisrank. 2. OAllah,bestowYourprayersandpeaceuponourMasterMuhammad,thekeytothe doorofthemercyofAllah,prayersandpeaceasnumerousasthatwhichtheknowledge ofAllahencompasses,remainingaslongasthedominionofAllahremains,anduponhis FamilyandCompanions. 3. OAllah,bestowYourprayers,peaceandblessingsuponourMasterMuhammad,the foremostreceiverofyourrstoutpouring,themostnoblebeloved,uponwhomYou havebestowedYourfavourandhethusexcelled;anduponhisFamily,Companions,his followersandthoseloyaltohim,[prayers,peaceandblessings]lasMngaslongashis receivingfromYouand hisascenttowards You, andYour approach to himand his approachtoYou,andhiswitnessingofYouandhishumbleprostraMonbeforeYou.By this prayer we shall witness You through his mirror and enter into Your presence throughhispresence,displayingtoYouandhimthebesteMqueNe,fullyenvelopedin inwardandoutwardspiritualassistancefromYouandhim.
