Software exchange for the TNC 426 CB/PB, TNC430 CA/PA and the TNC 426 M and TNC

430 M with EPROMs (Id. Nr. 324 990-xx to 324 997-xx). The procedure for software exchange on the TNC 426 M and TNC 430 M with flash EPROMs (Id.-Nr. 344 958-xx to 344 965-xx) is described later in this document. ============================================================================ The NC operating software of the TNC426/TNC430 is located on EPROMs. System files, the language and cycle files and all other files are saved on hard disk. To exchange the software on the TNC426/TNC430 you receive an EPROM kit and floppy disks with new language and cycle files(saved in compressed format in the files SETUP.BCK, SETUP.LST). These floppy disks also contain a data transfer program (TNCBACK.EXE) and the files SETUP.BAT and SETUP32.BAT, which calls the data transfer program with the correct parameters. This enables you to transfer the new language and cycle file over the serial interface or Ethernet (only with SETUP32.BAT) to the control. One floppy disk also includes a description of the machine parameters for the new software level (LIES_MP.A or READ_MP.A file). Data transfer is in LSV2 protocol and is started from the PC by entering SETUP or SETUP32 after the DOS prompt. Use SETUP for the operating systems Windows 3.1 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11. Use SETUP32 for the operating systems Windows 95, 98 and NT. Data transfer over the serial interface: You define the interface by entering a parameter after the SETUP or SETUP32 command, separated by a space. The parameter value 1 indicates the interface COM1, the value 2 indicates COM2, etc. The baud rate adjusts itself automatically to the baud rate of the control. Example: COM2: SETUP 2 or SETUP32 2 Data transfer over Ethernet: Data transfer via Ethernet is possible only with SETUP32. The IP address of the TNC is entered after the command SETUP32, separated by a space. Example: SETP32 160.1.180.21 In both cases, transmission can be canceled with ESC. Please proceed as follows to exchange the software: ======================================================= ************************************************************************* * CAUTION: The software must be exchanged only by properly * * trained personnel! * ************************************************************************* - ************************************************************************* * Note: If customized (OEM) cycles are saved on the TNC, read-out the * * cycle structure with cycle design. Software exchange for the TNC 426 M and TNC 430 M with flash EPROMs (Id. Nr. 344 958-xx to 344 965-xx) ============================================================================ The NC operating system software of the TNC426 M/TNC430 M with the abovementioned ID number is supplied on flash EPROMs. The system files, language files, cycle files, and all other files are saved on the hard disk.
