Author dpthemes replied Thanks! Glide comes with 4 Slider Options. If you open the drop down menu under home you can preview the 4 styles. The AnythingSlider option (http://www.densepixel.com/theme/glide/anythingslider/ ) allows you to add any HTML including hosted video. Preview the third slide which shows a vimeo video. In terms of audio, what were you after? You could include a soundcloud player or any other externally hosted audio player.

For the audio I was thinking of a regular mp3 player with an image; but any player will do really. One other point, not being a coder, i wonder how does one move the main menu up, (as per the exact changes to be made to the header l i would like to reclaim some of that space on the front page. cheers.
Author dpthemes replied For the audio unless it is hosted by a service which offers some sort of embeddable player it would not be displayed in the slider. It is a good idea and have added it to my list for a future update. Maybe you could release a version where the end user can leave it out from the admin panel? Also, just a quick heads up. Sliders and featured icons the links to the images appear to be broken. And maybe you could make the CSS switcher on the left a bit more prominent I didnt even know it was there. Just a suggestion. Other than that very nice
Author dpthemes replied Thanks for the comments, when you say leave it out, which section are you talking about? At the moment all the sections are optional apart from the navigation bar. The bar right at the top is optional, slider height is customisable or can be removed. And the callout can be removed as well. Which images are broken? Ive just gone through all the pages and cant see any broken images. Because the images are hosted externally (imgur.com ), there may have been some temporary downtime or the site is being blocked. Will you be able to check again or visit imgur.com and see if it works. Thanks Will make the CSS switcher more prominent.
iamthwee replied I was just commenting on bollyos suggestion that he wanted to reclaim some of the header space (box containing the paperairplane and logo) because it does take up a lot of room. I was wondering if this was xed or editable from the back end? The broken images in question are: Home > Shortcodes > sliders Home > Shortcodes > Feature Icons Home> Shortcodes > lightboxes and images The slider image shows but doesnt appear to do anything. As far as Im aware I dont have any image blockers. Testing this on Xp on latest version of google Chrome. I havent checked in other browsers.
1 more reply Author dpthemes replied The header space with the logo size is adjustable in the theme options, however will expand with different sized logos. If you wanted to make it smaller you need to change a single number in the CSS . At the moment the padding is 30px, but could be changed to 0 if you wished. Ive xed the issues with missing images, its because they were pointing to my local server which isnt accessible externally. The slider issue was a small bug which I have xed and is in the update queue. Thanks a lot for your suggestions and pointing out problems. All xed now

Without knowing exactly which plugin you are going to be using I could not conrm 100% how it would look, but because Glide is coded to WordPress standards there should be no problems with the functionality. I have had problems with another theme cutting off the right side of my images. The images are price charts with the price scale on the right side of the image, so its not so good for me. Looking to purchase your theme asap!

Author dpthemes replied Yes the theme does use the timthub script on portfolio images and slider images. However if you inserted the image using the HTML code such as
<img src="image_src.jpg" />
the timthumb script would not be used. If you provide me with some more information I could help work out if you would be affected or any possible workarounds

The skin editor doesnt let you save multiple skins, however you can turn the editor on/off so you can prevent the changes from showing on the front end if you wish: Just added a new video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5spAGUqFcw The skin editor section is about 4:40 in.

Quick question: would it be possible to use embedded Slideshare (powerpoint slides) in a similar way as youve used for the videos: http://www.densepixel.com/theme/glide/shortcodes/video/ I basically want to have several 3-column portfolios with embedded slideshare slides, and ideally with content hover. On click, it would go to a post with the embedded slideshare and description. Would that be possible? Thanks!
Author dpthemes replied Thanks! Ive not used slideshare before, but have taken a quick look just now and it seems to use similar embed code as videos. You wouldnt be able to use the Portfolio Items custom post type and Portfolio template to do this because that only allows images with video overlays. Instead you could create your own standard page and create the layout manually with a grid of your slides and add links to your post page. On the 3 column grid, were you planning on displaying images or a small embedded version of the slideshow?
kharji replied Thanks, so just to clarify is it possible to create a custom post type with properties similar to Portfolio, but for slideshare embeds? I would want this to be a dynamic section (as I add additional presentations, the grid of slides automatically updates instead of manually). And I would probably want to display a small version of the slideshow, similar to what you have done for videos. I will be purchasing the theme as the functionality and features are great, and will email you separately with these questions. Many thanks for the quick response!
Author dpthemes replied Its denitely possible to create another custom post type similar to the portfolio one eg. named presentations. You could then use the portfolio template as a base for the new presentation custom post type. If you require any help just give me a shout and Ill try to help you.

I would like to have dynamicly content on the homepage and no static page. & I think the read more link in the blog would be nice if there were buttons like with the shortcode && i think the really round (big radius) input-elds from contact in the footer and the hover effect in the main-menu did not t to the straight design. (The input-elds of the contactform unter contact are quite good).
Author dpthemes replied In this version its not possible to have a blog+slider but I will denitely consider adding it in an update. Were you just looking for the blog posts to appear underneath the slider instead of the sample content? I originally tried buttons for the read more links, but they made the meta area look clickable as well which would confuse some users, but if you wanted to use buttons, its a single line of code. Thanks again for the suggestion, Im not sure that I will change them at this point, but will keep them in consideration for a future theme. Thanks very much.

Author dpthemes replied Thanks! There is an option to hide the author name within the options panel, however if you wanted to remove the meta info completely, you would just need to delete those lines within the code. If you need help, just give me a shout. I do plan on updating the theme with future WP releases as well as feature updates and am open to suggestions on any features users may nd useful.

With regards to the menu drop down it is unavoidable with a central drop down style. Initially I had it set so that it would be visible, but that meant the Home button wouldnt look uniform with the page. A potential workaround is to not have a drop down menu on the rst link. I was not aware of the scrollbar issue and am investigating it at the moment. The scrollbar does not appear on the inner pages (blog, portfolio) and is caused by the arrows on the slider. I am working on a x which should be out later today.

Yeah I was trying to edit my post to mention about the arrows causing the scroll but TF didnt allow that. Anyway, yes, it would be pointless to have a submenu below home so I guess no big deal there. For the scroll; maybe try decreasing about 10 or 20px from the slider width? But then the whole content area has to shrink too I guess. Maybe include the arrows within the slider div like an overlay with a negative margin if needed. I dunnoyoull gure it out

I have now made a couple of changes so the slider arrows will not cause the scrollbar to appear on 1024!768 resolution monitors. Author dpthemes replied Thanks, There is a slight shadow on the body section. The page was tested with various shadows and with the colours being so customisable keeping the shadow less prominent worked much better for the content area. However if anyone wished to make the shadow more obvious all it requires is changing 3 lines of CSS . Could you explain the TEXT slide appearance please, not sure what you are referring to?

Ok i can see that you placed the caption in the NIVO SLIDER at demo site. is it customizable through the admin panel or not. Also, can we be able to place the logo in the center instead of on the left or is it just xed for LEFT hand side. Also, can we change the header and footer height. At this stage the header is too big and occupies lot of space. Regards Kashif
Author dpthemes replied Yes the caption is customizable using the admin panel: http://i.imgur.com/JoDGb.png The image shows the text box in which you would enter the caption text. The logo placement is set to the left of the page, but using some CSS code, you could place the image in the center of the page. The header height changes, based on the height of the slider which is you can choose by typing in a custom height: http://cl.ly /1F0o1V0W3u1M3i0O0222 You can disable the callout (the section with With Glide, Creating Sites Within Minutes is a Reality) using the toggle: http://cl.ly /0G1M0N2r152F3P2o0b1J Any other spacing changes you could add to the Custom CSS Box in the options panel and if you require any help or guidance you can just send me an email. The footer height is based on the height of the content inside. If you only want the copyright text you can hide the widgets by clicking the hide widgets checkbox in the options panel. Could the main menu text links have the light to dark background taken out and be moved up to sit to the right of the logo where the sign up free button currently sits? This would be a great option as it would provide a much tighter use of space. I also nd it a bit jarring currently having the gradient colour bar behind the menu interrupt the background image above and below it. 2. Can a custom size nivo image slider be used on the homepage instead of the full width one? I would like to have the image slider on the homepage across a two-thirds column of the page with html text to the right of it. 3. And some comments on the internal page right sidebar column it would be good to have an option less wide, like a 1/4 width sidebar. It would also be nice if the entire row was linked rather than just the text link itself. I notice this is the case only on the active page link with the arrow.
Author dpthemes replied Thanks very much! 1. It could be done in about 1-2 hours by editing a couple of the template les. Ive added it to my list potential updates, however it probably wont come with the update being released tomorrow. 2. At the moment the nivo slider is full width with the height being adjustable. If you wanted to add text, you could use the AnythingSlider to add HTML /Shortcodes to set up columns within the slide. 3. It may be an option in the future, however the template comes with standard width advertising widgets, two of which would not t in a 1/4 column sidebar. I will change the sidebar links to span the row. Thanks for pointing it out.

Is it possible to change the Popular Posts widget to recent posts? No one really comments on my blog posts, but I want to show a couple recent posts on the sidebar with the thumbnails. The current widget only shows posts if they have at least one comment. Thanks!

Purchased mcollins replied If you were able to, I would buy this theme again for a few shop projects I have coming up. This would be hard not to keep purchasing for each site then as the templating of the theme is really brilliant.

Author dpthemes replied Thanks for purchasing! 1. You can have a page with a left sidebar. When you choose the Page with Sidebar template when creating a page, a set of options appear within the Glide Theme Options area which allows you to choose between left/right sidebar: http://cl.ly/1y0C2o2U2t2y0A20001x 2. In tomorrows update I have planned for a couple of small bug xes, choice of navigation bar location (normal or top of page), optional social icons on blog posts, optional about author box and a recent posts w/thumbnail widget. Upgrading is quite easy, if you havent made any modications to the theme les, just overwrite the old theme. If you have made modications, I will provide a change log of modied les and you can replace any les you havent changed and then incorporate your own changes into the new les. 3. At the moment each page cannot use different colours, but it an idea that could be incorporated into a future update. The demo sometimes shows different colours if you use the demo colour switcher because I have a caching plugin installed. This would not appear on your site, because the demo switcher is not included. 4. Ive not used the jigoshop plugin before, however I believe it should work, but may not have the same styles as the theme. I have set some time aside next week to look at the possibility of adding some templates/styles to allow users to install a couple of the e-commerce plugins if they choose to. I hope that answers your questions, and you enjoy using Glide.
Has been a member for 2-3 years Bought between 10 and 49 items modern_blue says Purchased One more quick request: when using the small thumbnails for the blog (set in the themes options panel) the image on the individual blog post, along with the images used for related post still have the same size ratio as the large thumbnails. This makes my images cropped really weird on single entries and related post when using the small thumbnail setup. Is there any way you could make the single entries have a small thumbnail as an option where the text simple wraps around it. Kinda like if you were to just put insert and small image into the body of the post and text would wrap to the left of the image. Thanks,

Author dpthemes replied The single post screen now mimics the list of blog posts when using the Small Thumbnails option, with the post text wrapping around the image. With the Related Posts, the ratio cannot be changed without changing the dimensions of each related post. If you dont mind changing the height of the related posts section, just let me know and I can send you a replacement le to change the dimensions.

Its something Ive looked at in the past but I feel that if there are a lot of items, the animations sometimes look jerky. However if it may be something that could be added as an option in a future update.

Has been a member for 2-3 years Bought between 10 and 49 items Australia soulnecta says My vote would be to make the sidebar arrow strip a very light grey similar to the toggle bar this would help it stand out a bit more. It would also be good for the full span of the toggle bar to be clickable rather than just the circle. Another feature request if I may which would be fantastic would be to make the dark grey footer panel boxed when selecting the boxed option to give a true boxed look rather than continue out to the sides. Thanks!

Author dpthemes replied Hi, The latest update is still 3rd in the queue, awaiting approval. Unfortunately its impossible to say when it will get approved for download. Sometimes it takes less than an hour, other times it can take a lot longer. You can download the current one and familiarise yourself with the theme and then just replace the old version with the new one and youre good to go. All the settings remain in place. No problem about the rating

Author dpthemes replied Thanks for the comment! 1. When you say the header, do you mean the slider on the homepage? It is possible to add videos from an external site such as vimeo, youtube, dailymotion. You can either use the video shortcode or paste in the embed code. Take a look at the last slide on this page: http://www.densepixel.com/theme/glide/a-2-4/ Because its a HTML slide, you could have half a video and the other half text. 2. The theme is translation ready, as it comes with the necessary les (.mo/.po) les required for translating the front end and backend. You would need to use these les to create the translation. A quick guide: http://urbangiraffe.com/articles/translating-wordpress-themes-and-plugins/ 3. The background of the site can be changed. You can either upload an image for the header/body/footer or use a large image for the whole page. You can embed videos using the Video Module and entering the url of the video, e.g. http://www.youtube.com /watch?v=Y2Bu5NoYZ7M and then entering the dimensions. If using the HTML module you can use the [video_embed] shortcode which is explained in the Documentation:

It seems to change the color and remove all of the pattern images excepting the footer area. Even though it saves the changes in the admin area the footer area still retains the pattern and color of the selected color scheme. Please let me know how I can correct this. Thanks!

Ive just retested on my servers and it seems to working correctly here. Do you have any temporary login details I could use to try and work out the problem? If so can you send them via the contact form on my prole page. Other things to try: Have you got a caching plugin installed. if you do, you may have to empty the cache before reloading the page to see changes. Force a reload of your browser cache, by removing temporary internet les, or try shift+refresh
Purchased adamsmall replied I tested as well. Turns out it was me. The pattern image was displaying a broken image link and I thought that indicated no pattern was set. Turns out the light noise pattern was set. I selected non and that xed it. Thanks

Author dpthemes replied Its puzzling me as well, as I can view the demo site on IE8 , IE7 and IE9 and can see your site on IE7 and IE9 , but not IE8 . Do you have any plugins installed? Also could you try one thing: Open header.php and go to line 13 which should be a stylesheet reference to fonts.css, and remove the line. It was supposed to have been removed earlier when the theme was packaged up for download. Let me know if that works for you.

Has been a member for 2-3 years Bought between 50 and 99 items debondo says Purchased Okay, I removed the font.css line and now the site comes up on IE8 , but with this line of text at the top: Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: unmatched parentheses at offset 14 in /home2/hgfair/public_html/wp-content /themes/glide/header.php on line 42 This line of text also appears on Firefox. I will leave it as is so you can take a look. Also, no plugins except for Wordpress Importer. Thanks for your help!

When I go to the home page in the WP dashboard, I notice that in the Glide Theme Options window that two widgets disappear right when the page opens. Has been a member for 0-1 years Bought between 1 and 9 items bollyo says Purchased Hello I uploaded the update as a new theme and when i switch, the homepage slider runs amok. the images are displayed one after the other on the entire page as single images and everything else on the page disappears. I switch back to the earlier version and everything is ne. Perhaps you could indicate which specic les were changed so i can simply copy them into my les and replace the previous ones. Furthermore the css code to change the header space does not seem to be working for me. Earlier you sent me the template with the main menu at the top of the page. here again i think i would rather just change the les rather than switch the theme given the issues with the update. can you tell me which les to replace? Thank you. Other than that, loving theme. thanks for a great job. cheers
Author dpthemes replied The best way to update is to overwrite the old les unless you have modied the theme. Just take a backup before updating. I tried running 1.1 and 1.2 simultaneously and it works, except the menus need to be reassigned each time you switch. The slider does work though. Within the downloaded package there is a change log.txt le which contains a list of the changed les showing whether the le was added or changed. Are you using a caching plugin as it may cause this when updating as some les will be being served by the cache, while others are the new versions. Also you may need to press shift+refresh to reload your browser cache. Ive just tested the header code and it seems to be working, again it may be necessary to empty the cache to show the new CSS code. Thanks again.

But the GLIDE theme is blocked based in that you use modules to build a page. There is a HTML module that when used external links work as they should. It is only when you try to put them someplace raw (not using the manager or module) that you run into problems. The question I am asking is how to add an external link to a post.
Author dpthemes replied Im sorry I dont really understand what you mean by raw or an external link. Using the Page Editor (modular) you can add links using the HTML module or the Text Module. Both require you to enter the full url to the page such as http://google.com. Could you maybe email me some more information including login details if you think it would help via my prole page. This is the closest thing to a full-blown WYSIWG WP editor Ive been able to nd. There are a few things I need for a project, so please let me know if these are possible with Glide 1) Can the main nav menu (when at the top) be made sticky so it never scrolls with the page? Like an absolute CSS positioning or something? 2) Can the blog be one column, no sidebar? 3) Can the menu items be anything at all and mixed? That is, can a dropdown have links to different blog categories and maybe a static page as well? 4) Can I create a page that is automated to display blog posts with the same category? Author dpthemes replied Thanks! 1) The menu by default scrolls with the page, but to make it xed, requires a single line of CSS code 2) The blog currently is sidebar only. You could use a sidebar with no widget, but you would have an empty space. 3) The theme takes advantage go the WordPress Menu Manager which allows nearly anything, so you could have blog categories, portfolios, static pages and external URLs to exist on a single menu. 4) WordPress automatically creates a page for each category created. So for the category Articles in the demo, you can visit : http://www.densepixel.com/theme/glide/category/articles/ I hope that answers your questions. Let me know if you have any more.

Any possibility of a one-column blog option being added in the near future? Or is there a workaroundlike reducing the sidebar width to 10px and adding some px to the blog text left-margin? Author dpthemes replied I may be adding it in the future, but dont have a timescale for that option right now. You could edit it yourself, it would require customization of the blog page, single post page, categories and tag template les. Because the theme uses timthumb you would need to change the set widths/height for images as well as the width of columns. Thanks again!

The only problem I have is that I cant seem to change the font size for the text that appears within the body content. I tried to change the pixels in the typography setting, but its not seeming to work. Im building my pages using the custom page builder and the text has been placed within the text module. Any suggestions on how to increase the font size by 1 or 2 pixels ?

Just folowed by the letter the instructions, by creating the homepage, then the creating the slider and then conguring it at the homepage page. Author dpthemes replied Thanks for purchasing! It seems to be a problem with the TimThumb script which is used by the theme to resize images for the slider. Ive had a look at the source and your images have uploaded correctly, but the resizer is not outputting the resized image. This guide is very comprehensive and outlines the issues that some users have: http://goo.gl/bUkQx Points 3, 7, 8 and 11 are relevant, the rest should be okay because the theme generates the code If your unsure about changing any of the settings yourself, you can also submit a support ticket with your host. Tell them that you are having some issues with the timthumb script and give them the URL to your site. My own host had disabled timthumb but with a single email they enabled it. Please keep me updated and hopefully the issue will be resolved quickly.
Purchased jaclerigo replied Thanks for helping, it was permissions in cache folder. It works now. But, another issue. When I upload the logo via Theme Options, it returns always a bad url for the image. Any x to this?

A workaround is to upload the image using the WordPress Media Uploader http://cl.ly/2C0A341I1C413C0h3X19 Then once it is uploaded, copy the url as shown in the image below: http://cl.ly/0L3n360t1f093O2R083n and paste it in the url box for the logo

Author dpthemes replied Version 2.7 seems to work ne but just waiting a while before adding it to the downloadable le as its completely new code. If you want to replace it yourself, just download the le from the timthumb site and replace the timthumb.php le in the image folder. The version included with the theme is v1.34 which has the security patch. What problems are you having with the current version?

Author dpthemes replied Ah I see, its not as easy to add a watermark to the contents area, but Ive created a few examples so you could see what is possible. They were created by adding a few lines to the Custom CSS textbox in the Theme Options Panel. Eg

If you want the gradient, send me a message via my prole page so that I can send you the le after I make it. PS You should remove the margin-bottom:-35px you have applied to the bottom of the nav element. It is messing up the page heading on child pages.

Author dpthemes replied The content side is 2/3 of the total page width, and the sidebar is about a 1/3 of the total page width. You could change the width however it would require quite a bit of customization of the template les. The blog module seems to be working correctly. Author dpthemes replied The cevhershare plugin should work, the problem was that the JS it was being loaded on all pages even if the share box wasnt there. If you could get the JS to load on only the single post template everything else would work. On the theme, there are share links at the bottom of the page, and you could add extra buttons by editing the single.php le. Other than that I havent really used any share plugins before, I normally just hard code them in.

I have looked at the skin editor, but I cannot nd this option. Also, is it possible in the future to save a template from the skin editor? Sidebar menu: is it possible to have some styling for the vertical menu in the sidebar? Is this somewhere in the admin area that I just havent found yet? Also, when adding the rows, is it possible to add a custom vertical menu in the visual styler?
Author dpthemes replied The skin editor allows you to edit the main areas of the page. For other more specic areas you could either add CSS to the extra CSS box or edit the css les directly. If you need any help doing this, send me an email via my prole page and I can guide you through the process. I will consider adding a save template options. The sidebar menu is designed to look similar to the lists in the sidebar. What kind of styling did you have in mind. The only way to add a vertical menu, is to use the sidebar page template and add the menu to a custom sidebar.

If you open this URL : http://webjump.co.uk/wp-content/themes/glide/image /timthumb.php?src=http://i.imgur.com/l9wfV.jpg which is the path to an image on slider, you can see it is saying there is a le permissions error. The same applies to portfolio and blog images. If you can email me via my prole page with your FTP details, I can see if I can x the issue for you.

Using VersoPress, Im trying to add 7 Blog modules (on two rows) in grid mode, to show the most recent post for each on the 7 categories on my static homepage. Author dpthemes replied At the moment, its not possible to display one post in they way you wanted, however its a good idea and I would like to implement this in Glide. The way it was designed to be used was, to enable users to display multiple blog posts in rows. Eg. http://www.densepixel.com/theme/glide/a-2-3/ <- The blog module is added to a 3/4 column and displays posts in a 3 column layout. That is what the 3 or 4 option is. It denes how many columns to display the posts in. Ill add the option to display in 1 column, so it takes up the full width as you wanted. Its currently past midnight in the UK so I wont be able to do it tonight, but in the morning Ill add the option to the theme. As it will only require changing a single le, if you send me a message via my prole page (http://themeforest.net/user/dpthemes), I can email you that le directly, so you dont have to wait for it to be approved which may take additional time.

Author dpthemes replied The width of the image should be at least 960 pixels. The theme will resize it to 960 pixels. The height can vary and you can set it when you choose Static Image in the Options. By default it is set to 350 pixels. Let me know if you need any other help.

Author dpthemes replied It depends whether you used the VersoPress Page Creator (Drag and Drop) or just normal shortcodes. For normal shortcodes, you need to use the link attribute and enter the full url of the page as in section 4.20 of the documentation. Eg.
[callout title="The Title" caption="The Caption Text" buttontext="Buy Now" buttoncolor=blue3 link="http://google.com"]
If you use the Page Creator, when you add or edit the Callout Module you have the option to enter the URL for the link. For standard buttons to add the link use the href attribute in the button shortcode. Eg.
[button size=small color=blue3 href="http://google.com"] Button Text [/button]
Hope that helps you get your links added to your site. With regards to downloads, there isnt anything special you need to set up. However if you just link to the resource you wont be able to track how many times it has been downloaded. Im sure there is a plugin for that, but Ive not used one myself.

Author dpthemes replied Yes, you can upload your own image and set it to repeat if you wish. All you would need to do is use the skin editor built into the theme. When you uploaded it online, did you export the data from your local installation? If you did you need to add widgets to the sidebars again. WordPress does not export widgets when you export data. But again, if you can send me an email with a link to your site as well as login info I can take a close look. To remove the top social links, you just need to clear the boxes in Header Options (http://cl.ly/1U0718101d2H0x2Y3y0u) tab within the Options Panel. To remove the search icon, set the Enable Header Search to No and to remove the menu, set the Enable Quicklinks Menu to No.

Has been a member for 0-1 years Bought between 1 and 9 items Japan wwstall says Purchased Love the theme so far But a couple of questions. 1. is there a max width for picture sizes for galleries? i have mine at 666px wide and it is cutting off the picture a bit when i have Lightbox/Overlay Options set to default. 2. when i set the Lightbox/Overlay Options to Large image the image is ok and no cropping happens, but when i click a actual photo in the gallery, all photos i click show the large featured photo only. 3. in theme options under glide, i click to have Enable Keyboard Navigation ON. but onc in gallery it is not letting me use it. I also have it set to full width. im new to this and i cant seem to gure it out. what i would like to have is it set to default but not have it crop the picture, or the correct pixel width if there is a limit. thanks, and great theme.. hope you the best in sales.

Author dpthemes replied 1. No, there is not a max width, however images are automatically cropped/resized to t the size of the gallery. This may result in the image being cropped slightly. Changing the lightbox/overlay options doesnt change the size of the image, it changes the icon when hovered. 2. Im unsure what you mean exactly. When the lightbox appear, the image is not cropped and the full image is shown. When you view the image by clicking on the title, the image width is resized proportionally. I love it and recommend it to all, and I have worked with about 20 theme so far this year. In setting everything up I seem to have run into an error in the header.php le that I can not x. Im sure it is something that I did. After trying to reload the the header.php le from my backup to no avail, im stuck. I am wondering if you can tell me if you understand this error message. An aside: I dont remember ever touching line 41 and am wondering if it is possible interacting with something else that I can not see. If this is the case and you can point me in the right direction I would be happy to try and resolve myself. Error Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Compilation failed: unmatched parentheses at offset 14 in /home/content/92/8247092 /html/wp-content/themes/glide/header.php on line 41 Below is Code from line 41: if(preg_match( #\[ slider([^\]])\]#i, $post->post_content )) { $sc_slider = true; } I have modied the line in a few different ways but get the same error msg except the offset changes slightly each time. Author dpthemes replied Button shortcodes dont support the target attribute. Instead you would need to use the full HTML . For example:
<a href="#" class="button button-big button-blue3" target="_blank"><span>Button Text</span></a>
You can change button-big to button-small or button-medium. You can change button-blue3 to another color. The list of colors is available in the documentation. Let me know if you need anymore help

I added an image on my local installation and seems to be displaying correctly. Author dpthemes replied Hi, Yes that would be possible. The HTML slider allows you to add videos (from youtube, vimeo etc.) and text or a mixture of the two. If you only add a single slide, it wont look like a slider and will always show the video. Let me know if that answers your question. Thanks,

Id like to have a setup similar to yours in your demo page where the blog page (the one showing the rst 10 blog posts) shows a shorter version of the post and a detail of the image. Then, when one of the blog posts is open Id like the whole image to be displayed. Is it possible?

Author dpthemes replied Hi Vince, Thanks for purchasing! The way the blog image works, is there is a single featured image which you upload as you have done. You cant have different images on the blog page and the post page. When you set the image as featured, you do not need to add it to the post content, this is the reason it is being repeated. So if I understand correctly, for each post I can decide to have an image or not and that image has to be te featured. Now it seems that no matter the original size of the image, the system wil resize it. Is there any easy way to control the resizing? Now that I am here, I noticed that in the demo, just below the slider in the home page you have that nice banner that says With Glide, Creating Sites Within Minutes is a Reality..etc. The only place I found to imput the content of that banner was from te theme options and it doesnt seem to give me many options in terms of formatting. Author dpthemes replied For each post you can have as many images as you want, but for the image to appear on the list of post (blog) page, the image must be featured. Theres not an easy way to control the resizing without editing the template les. It would be REALLY REALLY awesome for my needs and Im sure others would like this if you could also set a header bg per page? So say on one page the header bg I could set to a different color or even a different image than the rest of the site. 2. The ability to save modules for use on other pages? I know theres the export/import of html on VersoPress pages but it would be nice to save a module and recall it on other pages. 3. Im sure this is a semi ridiculous request. But theres a great plugin by CrowdFavorite called RAMP that lets you send content from your staging site to your live site. Would be awesome if you could work RAMP support into VersoPress. Loving it so far.

Author dpthemes replied When you are using the VersoPress system, it replaces the WordPress content with the version that the SexyBookmarks creates. There are a couple of ways to solve this, rstly you can convert the VersoPress layout into HTML using the tools provided. Alternatively the SexyBookmarks plugin allows you to add the code manually to the template les. You can use the code:

I have installed the theme today and then I deleted most of the pages except the Homepage, the Contact page and the Showcase. The pages still show up in the navigation menu and when I go to a page it gives me a 404 error. What could be the problem. Thanks Peter
Author dpthemes replied Its probably just a permalinks issue on your installation. You can try to x it following these instructions: To ush the permalinks go to the Permalinks settings page found under the Settings Menu. Then change your permalink setting to one of the other unselected options, click save. Change it back, click save again and the new rules should be working. If this doesnt work, could you message me via my prole page (themeforest.net/user/dpthemes#from) with your website URL and login details and Ill try and x it for you. Regards, EDIT : I just re-read your question. If youre asking why the nav items are still there, its because WordPress doesnt automatically remove them when you delete pages. You need to go to Appearance>Menu, select the correct menu tab and delete each item individually. Its a bit annoying but until WordPress deletes them for you its the only way

Author dpthemes replied On multisite, if you do not enable the IMAGE UPLOADS , under Network admin -> Settings, featured images will not be enabled Tick that box. Save. After verifying that image uploads are active, the featured image box may be hidden, so click the Screen Options tab at the top of the page and make sure that Featured Image is ticked

Author dpthemes replied Hi, For a multi-lingual site, WMPL seems to work well. However it is now a commercial plugin. You may be able to get an older version which was free, but do check the licenses before use. With Arabic being an RTL language you may have to edit the theme a bit to enable rtl support. Its something that may be added in the future, but not being an RTL user, it would take quite a bit of time to make it perfect. Author dpthemes replied The Contact Form 7 plugin is not included in the download package, you will need to download and install it. The theme contains basic styling so that the forms the plugin creates matches the theme. After installing the plugin, on your admin you should nd a menu named Contact which is the main option screen for the plugin. Is there a way to completely disable the blog post thumbnail? It is not really suited to the type of blog posts I am doing they only occasionally have images attached. I am doing a non-prot site and while I would like to put images in posts, I dont need every single post to have a feature image or thumbnail. I bought this theme a couple of weeks ago and I have to say, its the most versatile theme I think Ive ever bought! Anyway, I have three hopefully quick questions 1. The contact form doesnt display the Message box correctly in IE9 it works ne in Firefox, but IE9 displays in very small. Any ideas? 2. Is there any way I can change the elds in the Contact Form to my requirements. Only basic changes are needed i.e. change Subject to Telephone (compulsory) and change Website to Mobile (still optional). I know I can use a different form plug-in, but yours is the best looking one Ive seen and it ts so well into the design! 3. Is there a way that the contact form can redirect to another page once the form has been submitted, rather than getting a message pop up. I have a lot of elderly customers and I know they will keep submitting the form thinking its not working! Thats it for now. Cheers, A.
Author dpthemes replied Thanks! 1. Ill take a look at that problem now; it sounds like it should be a quick x. 2. You cant edit the elds from the admin panel, but you could edit the versopress/verso-shortcodes.php le. Go to line 1285 and you can replace all instances of Subject to Telephone for the input as well as the Website to Mobile change. To make the Telephone compulsory, add the class of validate-eld to the telephone input. If you send me an email via my prole page, I can send you a version with the changes in place. 3. This is quite tricky and would require quite a few changes. I would recommend using a plugin such as Contact Form 7. Glide has the basic styling for the elds. It would be much easier to add some Custom CSS , rather than edit the logic behind form submission. http://wordpress.org /support/topic/plugin-contact-form-7-redirect-to-thank-you-page-on-submit If you decide to go the route of Contact Form 7, add it to your page and then email me a link, I can then help you to style the form as you wanted.

You could use the blog/gallery module to display a few posts (the gallery module is probably better). Author dpthemes replied Looks like you managed it. But for anyone else reading, there are three components; the menu, the social icons and the search. All three can be turned off independently. That comes from the background colour setting. I want that element completely gone so that everything moves up. If I set it to white like I want it to be, then the whole background is white. But now I feel stupid, I checked the site in another browser and yeah the black bar at the top is gone, must be the Admin bar I am seeing in the browser when logged in, but it just shows up black without the text, gured it was part of the design. Sorry!!! I have another question though, can I edit the size of the main navigation link text and add more space in-between them, as I only have 5 top level links and want to space them out a bit. Author dpthemes replied To edit the spacing and font size try adding the following to the Extra CSS section of the options panel:
nav li { margin-left:30px; } nav li a { font-size:16px; }
The margin left affects the spacing, the original is 15px, so you can have a play and see what suits your site. The font size is originally 14px, and you can try and see what works for you best.

Author dpthemes replied WordPress pulls the image from the Gravatar service. You need to follow the instructions on the http://http://en.gravatar.com/ site to upload an image. When creating an admin account on your site, use the same email address as the one you you used on the Gravatar site. The image will then appear in the About the author section

Author dpthemes replied Although there is no dened minimum, images should have a width of at least 594 pixels to stop it from being enlarged, thus causing some pixelation. The callout.button is not getting styled correctly and the body text of the callout is going behind the button instead of wrapping around the button. Without looking at your site I can suggest the following: 1. To x the overlapping text, add a <br /> tag before the word adjuster to make the text fall onto the next line. 2. Not sure what you mean about the button not being styled correctly? To change the color of the button you need the color you want to the buttoncolor attribute of the callout. If youre installing it on a local server, mail may not work correctly as local servers often do not include the mail function. Maybe ask your host if email is congured correctly? You can also try using this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ which allows you to enter your SMTP settings for example GMail. When you create a page, use the Homepage/Page Slider template. In the Homepage options box, you can select a Static Image and then add the URL to the image you want to display. My client would like the logo to be on the left, and the menu to be to the right of it. I changed some CSS , but noticed that when it is viewed on a different non widescreen resolution, the menu shifts to the right. Author dpthemes replied I actually dont have a set of dimensions. The best way is to load up your site in your browser and then take a screenshot of it. You can then use that as a template for the background or use the marquee/ruler to calculate pixel dimensions. Especially for the header and content areas which expand depending on your own content.

Author dpthemes replied Hi, The easiest way is to use a plugin such as Contact Form 7 which lets you edit the elds in the Admin Area. If you want to stick with the theme contact form, you can edit the template les. Open the verso-shortcodes.php le in the glide/versopress folder and line 1268. This is the start of the contact form. You can then go through and change the word Website to Phone Number

Author dpthemes replied You wont be able to open links in a new window using the shortcode or module unless you are happy to edit the template les. This would cause all callouts to open links in new windows. If youre happy for that to occur, then let me know and I can email you with instructions on making the change. Alternatively if youre not fussed on the shortcode, you can use the raw HTML used for the shortcode, but this doesnt apply to the VersoPress module. Again if you want to use this method, let me know and I can email you the code.

Easy to use admin panel, etc. Everything you could want. I am having a little issue and was looking for some help. With the slider I would like to have a slider similar to your galleria example you have on the demo where it has the smaller images, and the larger images sliding. When I select it to use in my page the images are just stacked on top of each other and dont do anything? I am looking at it on chrome. Any ideas would be helpful. I am using the Niviio slider for now, but would like to use the galleria version. Thanks Bill

I believe its the css value of: .header-pattern { background-position: center top; } but when I put a height parameter on it it screws up the natural ow of the page? For instance- Ive designated my h1 tags with the Goudy Bookletter 1911 font. but its not formatted correctly when viewing the page in my browser (FF and Chrome). Gallery Item pages show breadcrumbs of Home > Example Image 1 for example. Is there any way to set it so that it formats like this: Home > Gallery Name > Gallery Item Name The above would allow the user to go back to the parent gallery from the breadcrumbs. On a similar theme is it possible for the URL to act in a similar way? EG Instead of www.example.com/portfolios/example-image-1/ Could it be set up to be: www.example.com/example-gallery-name/example-image-1/ I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance for your help.
Author dpthemes replied Hi, The gallery uses WordPress Custom Post types, and as far as Im aware I dont believe its possible for the URL to show the parent gallery names. Even with the breadcrumbs, it was a bit hit and miss, the breadcrumbs sometimes resulted in errors if the category names were forced, however it technically should be possible with some modication. Hopefully I can incorporate it into a future update.

Author dpthemes replied Gill Sans is not a Google Hosted Font, you/visitors need to have that font installed on their computer for the font to load. I was under the
impression that Gill Sans was included by default on Windows PCs as well as Macs, but I guess your Win 7 machine doesnt have it. When you look at the font-selection drop down, only the fonts under the Google Fonts sections are hosted via Google. These will appear the same on all computers http://cl.ly/0l3h1d3Y173T3r0w1o32

You can change the 5px to suit your site. The original is 30px. I dont really understand what youre after in terms of the menu. Maybe describe it in more detail?

This has been discussed on page 6 alittle bit but it doesns work for me. BLOG QUESTION the picture i use for the featured pictured is autmomatically shrunk down in width and height on the front blog page. so when i click on the blog post , that same shrunk down image is the rst image in the post, i would like the full image to be posted. I would really like some help setting up the blog featured image to higher dimesions. i would like 700 width by 500 height if possible. Author dpthemes replied Hi, To change the height is actually quite easy, you need to open single.php in your editor, nd line 112 and change the number 180 to 500. It appears twice on that line. Changing the width would be a bigger job as it would require changing the CSS for various elements and the sidebar would have be shrunken so many widgets wouldnt display correctly. If you really want to change the width, your best bet is to hire someone to customize the theme. You could ask on the themeforest forums or on freelanceswitch. Author dpthemes replied What do you mean by headers? The page title and desc section? The easiest way is just to add display:none in the CSS for the sections you want to hide. You can then adjust the CSS to push the content up. Ill try to send you a more complete email tomorrow, but if you have a go, let me know if you manage to sort it.

In regards to the skin editor, I will need to match a specic color contained in a logo, to tie in with the theme, is this easily accomplished via the skin editor, or will i need to re up photoshop and edit some images? Author dpthemes replied You should be able to match the logo using the skin editor. The best way set the theme scheme is to select one of the presets which closely matches your logo and then ne tune the exact colour using the skin editor. You shouldnt need to edit any images as they are all transparent. If you want to create your own scheme and edit the CSS directly, duplicate one of the css les in the css/preset folder and change the name at the top of the le. When you refresh the options panel, your new scheme will appear in the drop down.

Ive created a child theme from Glide v1.3. When I change the h1 font in the Typography dashboard and refresh the page, the title only displays in Times New Roman. Author dpthemes replied The homepage is created the same as any other page, with shortcodes for columns, dividers etc.. When you create the page, you would use the specic homepage template with the slider if required. Also see the reply by adroyal below which also explains the process from a buyers perspective.

The easiest way to create a custom callout is to use the HTML source code and edit it manually. The cong screen for this page allows me to select Gallery Images per Page. It does not seem to work though. I have added lter tags and these work well but when the All lter is selected (which is the default when the page loads) there are too many images on the page. Please can you advise if I am doing something wrong or how to enable the pagination. Thanks for your help.
Author dpthemes replied Pagination is not enabled on portfolio lter pages as otherwise the lter would be redundant. If you only had 10 images displayed, your users wouldnt be able to lter some categories without changing to a different page. Author dpthemes replied Out of the box its not possible to display RSS feeds in the widget. If you wanted to customize it, you would need to edit the versopress/widgets /most-commented.php le to add in the RSS feed.

Currently using this theme on multiple sites, cause its like the BEST theme out there! Something you might consider in the future which I think would be very handy.. Right now we have the ability to export page layouts, which is great, but it would be cool if we were able to copy individual modules, and then paste those modules. Some pages have different layouts but use some of the same mods.. Just my 2 cents worth.. Thanx for a great theme!

Author dpthemes replied The shortcode doesnt let you edit the speed of the slider. If you dont mind editing the template les, you can edit the header.php le on line 89 to include the speed attribute.

Author dpthemes replied Hi, Generally using the sortable portfolio, you wouldnt want pagination as you wouldnt be able to see all the items on a single page and be able to sort through them. However, I do have a copy of the le with the items per page enabled, so if you email me via my prole page, I can send you a copy.

Which les do i modify and where should i place them, in order for them to show up on the Verso Typography Options panel? So far Ive changed the admin-font-options.php to add my font and it appears on the options panel, but when selected, nothing changes. I have also uploaded the appropriate font les (ttf,Eot,Svg,Woff) onto the fonts folder. IS there anything else i need to modify? Ie. the style.css?
Author dpthemes replied For a custom font, you would have to add your own font-face declarations in the style.css le. You would be unable to use the font-selector in the options panel. The fonts folder is only used for cufon fonts.

Author dpthemes replied The best way to move a site, is to rst export the data from the old site using the built in WordPress export tool. Then create the new WordPress installation and use the WordPress import tool to import all the pages/posts.

This will auto rotate the slideshow with a 1 second delay

A new button that will compliment the design will be better. Drop the bold shadows on the button text. Your youtube video on the slider has an extra /> closing tag oating on the bottom right of the video. Contact me and I will make you a decent button onn the home page. Your footer images: Left image perfect.. 2nd & 3rd image: align centre Last image: Align right. That way it wiill look like it is all perfectly ballanced. Sidebar on home page: images all align right then it looks to use up the page correctly.

Author dpthemes replied Its not the ID, I need to update the documentation. You need to use the slug of the portfolio category(gallery). If you open the Image Galleries menu, you can see the list of categories with the slugs.

Author dpthemes replied You would need to edit the template les, but it is possible. If you open the portfolio.php le, you can add the alignment attribute to the end of the timthumb query string. You (HAVE TO) add the portfolio page to a Category (+ Add New Image Gallery) on right of the edit page. Then the portfolio galleries will all be in different categories. It is those categories that will be taken from the shortcode? Just need to make sure I am on the right track now?

Took a little bit to gure out that the added step is to make sure you place a category on each portfolio item, it then makes the pagination to the bottom of each portfolio page as well. Something else I couldnt gure out. but this step ed all of that.

Author dpthemes replied Hi, The contact form is added to a page using the [contact_form] shortcode. It will automatically be styled as the demo one. The easiest way to translate the elds is to open the versopress/verso-shortcodes.php le and edit the strings manually. You could also use a plugin named Contact Form 7 which will enable you to customize a form so that you can add/delete elds as well as create multiple forms. 3. To get blog as a separate page, you need to set the blog page in the WordPress Settings>Reading panel. You can then add the page to the menu using the WordPress Menu manager. 4. WordPress allows you to password protect pages however you wouldnt be able to use the VersoPress page builder for those pages. If you wanted a membership system, Im sure there are plugins that can setup and manage members/login/signup for you. 5. Adding a store is quite simple with some e-commerce plugins, again searching Google for ecommerce wordpress will show you some of the popular plugins available.

The image is 960!350 and Ive changed the slider options to static image in the settings and set the height to 350, though its the default anyway. When I tell it what picture to use, it looks great in Mozilla Firefox, but in Google Chrome it gets cut off. Is there a work around for this ? Thanks. A little warning: It will break behavior related parts of the theme while youre doing this. Not a bad idea to make a backup of your theme les rst, too. im not too excited about doing that. have you seen this problem before? do you have any suggestions as what javascript les need to be changed? thanks so much!

Author dpthemes replied I see the problem. For some reason the shortcode slider jquery les arent getting called. Im currently in the process of rewriting that section and hopefully getting an update sorted in the next couple of days. If you email me via my prole page I can send you the les as soon as they are done. With the bar, you just need to delete the text in the Header Options tab in the Options panel under social links as well as set the Search to Off. Could you explain what you mean move the bottom closer to top?

Author dpthemes replied You wouldnt be able to use the button module unless you were happy editing the template les. This would cause all callouts to open in a new window. If you want to edit the le you can open the versopress/verso-shortcodes.php le and nd line 939 and add the blank attribute there.

Author dpthemes replied Hi, Sorry for the delayed response. Ive used WPML which supports multilanguage sites. It is now a commercial plugin, but you may be still able to nd the older version. There are also a few free plugins in the Plugin Database, which should also work.

The weird thing is that it wont do it to the top most image, but will to everyone thereafter. I see on the demo that the blog page is able to have a sidebar. However, even though in settings I have the blog set to a page, and inside the page I have selected page w/sidebar, as well as have selected right sidebar in the options on the bottom, and chosen my premium content sidebar that I built in the glide options, it still does not appear.do you know how you created this? I need a sidebar inside of my blog posts.

Author dpthemes replied In the blog page, you would manually have to remove the 0 Comments text from the meta section from the template le. However a text box should not show if you disable the comments on the page. It may be because you are logged in?

Author dpthemes replied Hi, 1) The theme support widgets in a sidebar or the footer. 2) Menus are created using the WordPress menu manager so unlimited menus are possible. There are two dened locations, the main menu as well as the quick links menu at the top of the page. You could also add menus using the Menu Widget. 3) The theme uses the HTML5 doctype as well as a few HTML tags and the data- attribute.

Author dpthemes replied Hi, 1. You have the newest version, as long as the installed version is greater than the latest version youre good to go. Its a small bug, which should be corrected in an updated le. 2. The footer copyright section, is made of a transparent gradient png which darkens the color of the footer behind it. To change the color, you would have to edit the CSS or use the Skin Editor to change the color of the whole Footer section.

Author dpthemes replied Hi, The logo is linked to the homepage of your WordPress site, as you would set in the WordPress Settings. If you wanted to link to another site/page, you would have to edit the header.php le and change it to a link of your choice.

You may also be able to use an online version such as : http://www.picresize.com/ However I have never used it before. If you could send me an example of how you would like it, I can resize it for you which might be quicker than learning how to do it yourself

Looking at the prettyPhoto FAQ , it talks about this problem being caused because the script is not being loaded before the closing body tag. Do you happen to know how to have an external link open in lightbox with this theme? Thanks!

To add a class to the list of existing classes would be slightly complicated. The le is the glide/versopress/admin-deploy.php and look for the dp_font_set function around line 200. Within that function near the bottom is section where the option is set. It is around line 270. You can edit this to add the class required.

Author dpthemes replied The quicklinks bar, by default is set to a transparent black/grey so that the header color shows through. This transparency is set in the css stylesheet, if you look at style.css on line 390, you should see the relevant styles. You could modify or replace them to suit your site. Let me know if you have any trouble with it.
Purchased stereopush replied I went to that section you referred to at line 390 Header Quick Link Bar Styles and the only numbers i could think to replace to change the color was the background: #222 and #747474. They seemed like color changing codes for the header quick links bar in that section you were referring to but nothing happened when I switched out the numbers with my color that I want. You may not be familiar with this, so if you can let me know what color you are after and whether you want it to be transparent, I can send you the required lines.

I love the potential of the Theme and I am hoping that these issues can be resolved: A) The menu is not loading properly and goes into an Error page. I have removed any conicting plug-ins, reloaded WP and the Glide Theme, contacted my server people, etc.., still does not work. The pages are not staying in their proper hierarchy spot, and the menu is a mess when you go to the page. When I used the lter option, even though I have ltered each image, they are not showing up when selected in the lter. C) The lters are not showing up correctly, nor can I re-order them into a more logical order. D) Plus I used your model of 2 column Filter as one of my pages, yet the VersoPress option did not work, and did not show up on the page. E) When I created the Gallery, I cannot gure out how to reorganize the images into another order. F) I cannot see how to have a link open into another window. G) I would like to use my Infusionsoft plug-in, but that was one of the plug-ins which did not play well with your Theme, is there anything that can be done so I can still use it? Author dpthemes replied Hi, A) Ive not encountered anyone else having problems with the menu system, especially as it is not a theme specic feature, however if you could send me your WordPress login details via the contact form on http://themeforest.net/user/dpthemes Id be happy to take a look. C) An image can only have 1 lter, so if you have added 3, only 1 will work on each image D) Not sure what you mean exactly, maybe clarify slightly if you are emailing? E) To reorganize, you can just change the publish date on each item. Images are shown in chronological order, Newest->Oldest, so set date on the image you want to show rst as the most recent. F) This is HTML , you would need to add the target attribute on any links you wish to open in a new window. http://www.w3schools.com /tags/att_a_target.asp G) I cant promise that all plugins will play nice, but I try to follow the WordPress guidelines, if you can leave the plugin installed, but deactivate it, I can check it out if you can send me the login details.

But it is really hard to ll out the content of your site if you cannot use the theme the way it was designed to be used. Purchased truggyten replied thanks. I was wrong. The version number that you corrected wasnt the issue I was talking about. I thought I posted a different one. That is the one with the editor. I have noticed that when you select the visual editor over the html editor, whatever content you have on the screen does not transfer between the two editors. I have to reload the page in order to get the content to show and then start over. That was the bug I was refering to. If you switch to the wordpress editor after starting with your editor, you get the same issue. Any news on xing that bug. Exellent theme by the way.

Author dpthemes replied The delay is added to prevent users from accidentally activating the menu if their mouse pointer strays over the target area. You can remove this delay if you wish, by editing the template les. Open the le glide/js/jquery.custom.js and nd line 73. Add a comma after the
speed: 'fast'
so it reads
speed: 'fast',
Then add a new line underneath and enter:

disableHI : true
Save the le and refresh your site, the menu should no longer have a delay.

Author dpthemes replied The text/button which appears on the top page is purely used as an example, it serves no functional purpose. Im sure that there are membership plugins which would allow you to allow users to sign up and login, you could then use similar buttons/text to direct new users. However Glide does not have the functionality built it.

I noticed that ie7-8 dont seem to support the font styles and is breaking the main nav bar (the fonts rendered in ie7 and 8 are a different font and make the font size larger and spacing off thus breaking the navbar). Author dpthemes replied Fonts are not going to render exactly the same on all browsers, however the font should be the same. Ive taken a look and it seems to be the same font on IE7 +8. If you are seeing something different, could you email me a screenshot? As you have modied the spacing yourself to align the menu right with the overlapping droplet, you will need to add specic rules in a conditional stylesheet to correct the browser-specic issues. The theme already uses two conditional stylesheets, one for IE7 and IE8 . Another just for IE7

However: A) The menu items still format into two lines with the second line going under the menu bar. Is there anyway to alter this (ie: extend the menu bar to be wider/higher so that both lines are within the menu bar, or add another menu bar under it) . . .something like that or will they just have to be that way? I do have a question regarding the images. I have inserted a picture using the image modular, (not the gallery) and I would like to be able to click on the image and it go to another page I created with content. I do not want to use the gallery because the image would be too large when it goes to the page (I could not nd a way to re-size it in the gallery page). I have entered in the page URL from the page I created into the light-box URL spot, however, when I go to the view the page it says that Image cannot be loaded. Make sure the path is correct and image exist. Can you please let me know how to resolve this? I really need to know this one because this is how I am going to do the links to my other product pages as well. C) How can I get the images to be centered on the page? You have a spot for the image to be left and right justied, but not centered. Leaving it on the rst blank option does not center it either. Can you let me know how to get the images so they are centered? D) And how the heck do you get the Wikipedia hyperlink option off of the entire site it drives me crazy especially the BetterLink hyperlink. I am asking you this because it is not a plug-in, so I am assuming that it is written into the Theme . . . I apologize for bothering you if you didnt and Wikipedia has some supreme authority with just going into any and every site they want too . . . . Thank you in advance for your help!! Judie
Author dpthemes replied Hi, A) The menu appears on two lines, as you have too many items and the length of some menu links are quite long. If you take a look at the demo, you can see that the menu names are longer, and have been divided into submenus. Changing the menu size would not be particularly easy due to the gradient overlay which would have to be redrawn With the lightbox URL , the textbox is for you to add the URL to a larger version of the image, so that when you click on the image, a larger version appears as it does on the gallery page. Although it says link URL , it should appear in what is called an iframe which is not what youre after. It would possibly be easier for you to use the standard WordPress editor and use the insert image wizard to add images? If you wanted to stay in the VersoPress system, you could add a HTML module and add the following as an example:
<a href="http://google.com"> [image src="http://i.imgur.com/BkUZz.jpg" width=430 height=200 ] </a>
C) Centering images should be possible with the native WordPress image wizard, however unless you added the image via HTML its not possible via VersoPress. Ill take a look at it, and email you a couple of examples hopefully tomorrow. D) There should be no Wikipedia hyperlinking as I have not included it with the theme and would never do such a thing. The only thing, if youre sure its not a plugin is that a plugin which youve used before has made changes to the page entry manually?

I love the way VersaPress formats the pages it has a great clean crisp format. I really want to be able to use it for the entire site, without using the standard WordPress option. Please let me know how to resolve the above issues. Thanks, Judie
Author dpthemes replied The linking procedure is a standard built into WordPress and VersoPress, if you havent used WordPress before I would recommend that you do some background research and follow tutorial videos to get you better acquainted with some of its features. I created a .js from a cufon generator. I then uploaded the le (along with the .ttf le) to the fonts folder on the server but I dont see it showing up in the Typography Options panel? Author dpthemes replied Hi, It wont show up automatically in the Typography Panel, as its all custom coded for the fonts I initially added. The easiest solution for you to add Cufon fonts is to manually add the JS le to the header.php le and add the Cufon declaration to enable the font switching. The alternative would require some editing of the template les which could take a while

Author dpthemes replied Its the for the top border of the footer. The border disappears if you select a color scheme from the Full Page BG list. However an easy solution for you, as you seem to have already started playing with the colors etc. is to add the following to the Extra CSS textbox in the options panel:

Author dpthemes replied There is no way to use the image module to link to another page, unless you edited the function of the module in the template les. (This would affect all instances of the image module). The alternative is to use a standard HTML /Text Module and use HTML to add the image. If you want the resizing function, you could use the image shortcode in conjunction with the HTML . Eg

Author dpthemes replied Hi, You can add background images using the skin editor within the options panel. You can add a background image for three independent sections; the header, the body background and the footer. Alternatively you can set a full page background.

Author dpthemes replied The gallery slider doesnt allow you to link to other pages, instead just lets you view the larger version of the thumbnails. The Nivo and Anything sliders allow you to link to other pages.

I want the colored header bg to stop at the nav but I dont want to do a custom bg so I can still adjust other aspects using the skin editor. Also need to push content section up a bit. Oh I also want to have the slider ush to the nav bar on the homepage but still want to keep the breadcrumbs on other pages. Is that height controlled by separate CSS code so they can be different from homepage and other pages? Thanks!

Author dpthemes replied Hi, The theme does work with Child Themes which are denately useful when you want to make changes to the template les. The update theme link just noties you of any updates which are available. You would still need to manually download and overwrite the old theme les. If all you need to edit is some CSS , you may want to just use the textbox in the options panel. This doesnt get overwritten when you perform theme updates, however I would always recommend you take a backup of the theme options using the Export Theme Options feature just in case.

Tried using WP 3 .3, but see the uploader is only ofcially compatible to 3.2.1. Tried again with 3.2.1 but same problem. Author dpthemes replied Hi, That is supposed to happen. You then need to go to Appearance>Menus and assign the menus using the drop down elds on the left hand side box. The menus should then appear as they do on the demo.

Author dpthemes replied Hi, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, if the slider is the rst thing on the page, its most likely the padding which is causing the space. Try using a negative margin on the slider so:
.page-slider { margin-top:-25px; }

On the site http://www.bulldogstyling.co.uk Pages that have previously been created in the navigation menu have just had updated content put into them. Now if you visit for example http://www.bulldogstyling.co.uk/mercedes-vito-side-bars/ it tells you that the page content cannot be found Secondly, if you look at http://www.bulldogstyling.co.uk/opel-vivaro-side-bars/ you will see that for some reason this new page despite having the same settings as http://www.bulldogstyling.co.uk/opel-vivaro-front-grill-2 it is not displaying the content in the page correctly or the side bar but is displaying a previously unseen error relating to the WP e-commerce theme. This code works when I change it in the style CSS , but not in the Extra CSS Options tab. Other customizations work, but a few do not. I dont want to override the style.css le, because a future update would overwrite my changes. I could create a child theme and customize that way, but I would prefer to use the Extra CSS Options theme feature. Any help?

Note: If you are referring to the image slideshow that pops open in the lightbox, then you need to use the image shortcode and set the lightbox setting to true, also type in a group name, which should be the same for all images. Author dpthemes replied Hi, Sorry, I seem to have missed your message. The lightbox grouping does not have any link with the portfolio items and categories. Instead the group name is just an arbitrary name. For example:

So as long as the group name is the same for all images it should work. If not could you send me a link with the page youve added the images to?

Author dpthemes replied Hi, The group is completely separate to the rest of theme. Glide uses a script called prettyPhoto to create the lightbox.This script lets you make a slideshow if you give all the images in the slideshow a group name. You can type in any name, and as long as all the images have the same name they should appear as a slideshow, there is no need to create a group beforehand. These real a real handy way for non-coders to upload les. I also noticed that when you switch back and forth between editors the content doesnt stay? Like it does in the standard WP editor for easy styling and formatting. I am afraid I will need to go back and convert all the content in which I used the HTML editor to the text editor for the employees. Any thoughts? JW
Author dpthemes replied WordPress doesnt make it easy to include those options and editors in your own plugins. Thats why when you switch back and forth, it doesnt convert the data. If you want to convert between the two, an easyish way (Ive not tried it myself) is to open the normal WordPress editor screen in a new window and set it to HTML view. Then copy the versopress content into it, click Visual and it will convert for you. You should then be able to copy it back. With WordPress 3.3 the developers have made it easier to add the editor plus upload icons to your plugins, but still doesnt let it appear as an overlay, so its still a no-go as far as VersoPress. The VersoPress options let you convert the layout into HTML , which you could use to put back into standard WordPress which would let you use the default WordPress tools, if your client wanted.

Author dpthemes replied Hi. The images dont seem to loading due to a timthumb issue, the image resizing script. I had a quick check and because the slider images are hosted by imgur, an external site, the script seems to be blocked when using external images. This is most likely a restriction placed by your webhost, however there is a chance it could be a permissions issue. If you could email me your FTP details I can take a look and see if it could be causing the issue. The issue should not appear if you upload the images yourself onto your sever and editing the path in the Slider Groups panel.

The issue is caused by the timthumb script which does need certain permissions set on some hosts. Unfortunately its not something that I can set when packaging the theme for installation so some people do run into issues On future themes I have decided to remove the timthumb script completely, which should hopefully reduce the number of slider image issues. Author dpthemes replied I take the screenshot using the built in mac screenshot tool. The window has the toolbars removed. The image is then edited in Photoshop to add the reection and layer the two screenshots.

Has been a member for 1-2 years Bought between 1 and 9 items United States joshpodolske says Purchased Shortcodes question. Im trying to use column shortcodes. The documentations doesnt really list them out, it states that I can use the shortcodes button in the html editor, Im currently using another plugin called Shortcodes with style http://codecanyon.net/item/styles-with-shortcodes-for-wordpress/142221 which I think it must conict because I dont have that button that is listed in documentation. Back to the columns, i have tried using:
[one_third]<p>Test</p>[/one_third] [one_third]<p>Test</p>[/one_third] [one_third_last]<p>Test</p>[/one_third_last]
No luck, the spacing is all weird. do I use div tags for the column shortcodes?
Author dpthemes replied All the column shortcodes are listed in section 4.1 of the Documentation. It may be the plugin which conicts with the built in shortcodes button. Ill see if I can investigate it further. The spacing issue may be caused by the WordPress function called wpautop, which adds in automatic line breaks and paragraph tags. You can disable this in the options panel and check if the issue goes away. If you could provide me with a link to your site I can check the code that is being generated by the shortcode to make sure that the plugin is not overriding the built in column shortcodes
Has been a member for 2-3 years Bought between 50 and 99 items lukej says Purchased Hi dpthemes, how can I do to add a new font-family? I created web font with @font-face kit and I added the code in fonts in css/fonts.css and the font les in fonts folder but its not visible in the back-end font selector.
Author dpthemes replied The easiest way is just to declare the new font using custom CSS code. To add it to the drop down list would require you to modify the le versopress/versopanel/admin-font-options.php and add in the le manually. If youre unsure of the exact CSS code, let me know which font youre using as well as the tags you want to change to the new font.

How do I adjust the minimum size for a right side image on a Single Portfolio page? Id prefer the columns to be half text and half image. (e.g. http://www.densepixel.com/theme/glide/portfolios/sample-logo/) 2. How would I change the portfolio url from blog/portfolios/xyz" to "blog/partners/xyz"? 3. Is it possible to remove the gap between the top of the slider and the menu bar on the homepage? (I don't see any css for this using rebug) 4. Can I setup the lightbox feature to display an inframe webpage instead of an image/video? (I'd like to have a contact button on the homepage that brings up a webform inside a lightbox.) 5. I know you mentioned you may add a pricing table shortcode to a future release, please add my vote as another user who would love to have this feature. Thanks for your help!

Changing the width would be a little tricky as you would have to edit the template le portfolio-single.php as well as associated CSS code that determines the width of the columns. 2. Changing the url to partners is possible, open versopress/verso-custom-post.php and edit line 39 to read partners rather than portfolios 3. To remove the gap, add the line below to the Extra CSS section in the options panel:
.slider-area { margin-top:0 !important; }
4. You should be able to do this, however you would have to use some HTML code to generate it. An example follows:

Question: On a single portfolio entry page, I want to add the shortcode for the grid of other portfolio posts in the same category/gallery. My special request though is that I am using the two column style page and I want the grid to run full width across the bottom of the page. I think I could gure it out if I knew where to look for the php source of the shortcodes. Where is this le? or Can you offer a suggestion for how to do this another way? Thanks!!
Author dpthemes replied You would have to edit the porfolio template le to achieve this. The le in question is the portfolio-single.php le. It is a moderately complex addition as you would need to use the function get_the_terms to retrieve the current portfolio taxonomy ID and run another loop query based on the ID and format the posts. The shortcodes le is found in the folder versopress and named verso-shortcodes.php. You could use the shortcode on the template le running it through the do_shortcode function, however you would still need to retrieve the taxonomy ID as above
