What is Drug? Drug is any substance which chemically alters the structure and function of living organisms.

It also refers to any substance (chemical) that affects bodily functions, moods, perception or unconsciousness that if potentially misuse will cause harmful effect.

CAUSES
1. Pride. Young people who cant take criticism out of excessive pride and feel some form of inadequacy. 2. Anger. Unexpressed aggressive emotions. 3. Lust. A burning sexual desire and impotency can distort the human mind and lead it to drug abuse. 4. Avarice or Greed. For wealth, fame recognition as exemplified by people under pressure in their work or art such as musicians, actors to perform better sometime beyond their usual or normal nature. 5. Gluttony. A food trip caused by marijuana and other amphetamines. 6. Envy. In statistics, all over the world, middle child envy to the first child or the youngest who usually gets more attention from the parents. 7. Sloth or Laziness. Coherent laziness of a person manifestation outwardly as the I Cant Syndrome. 8. EFFECTS
1. Malnutrition. Loss of appetite, miss their regular meals. 2. Panic reaction. Loss of thoughts or feeling of invulnerability leading to injury or death. 3. Physical damage. In addition to those which accompany the use of un-sterilized syringes like hepatitis, AIDS; excessive use of drug may cause liver and kidney damage. 4. Probable cause of crime. Like stealing to support their habits, rape and murder due to loss of self control 5. Insanity. Affects soundness of mind or mental health or become insane. 6. Irritable, discourteous, aggressive 7. SOLUTION
1. INDIVIDUAL The primary role of individual especially the youth is to participate in any Drug Abuse Prescription Program. This is very essential, considering that he is the target of the social menace. His primary role is to improve his personality, to develop such traits and characteristics that would help build up his self concept, thereby making himself confident. Maintain good physical and mental health (sports, prayer, music). Use drug properly- most drug are beneficial when used under medical advice. Learn to say no to drugs. Learn to find new interest, meet new people, go to new places; put yourself into new and productive situations. 2. FAMILY As the basic social group where the child learn the meaning of social responsibility, develop the basic attitude pattern, ideals and style or configuration of life, the role of parents should be to: Create a warm and friendly atmosphere in the home. Develop effective means of communication with their children be open. Listen to their childrenrespect their opinion. Praise children for positive achievement. Take time to be with their children even when busy. 3. SCHOOL It is an institution designed to discipline and educate the individual and provide him with specialized knowledge and skill. Its teachers have the responsibility to: Know their student. Be sensitive to their needs and problem. Establish report with their studentsgain their confidence.
