CU Flag Football League Information


CU Flag Football League is designed for true flag football lover. We provide a fun, wide open league that is held in the comfort of our Indoor/Outdoor turf football complex. 24 total teams in the league. Separating them into 3 different divisions, I, II, and Co-ed. Division I being the most experience and Division II less experienced but competitive and Co-Ed for all teams and participants. 6 week league with a one night playoff double header. It will be held on the campus of Concordia University at Sea Foam Stadium. Conveniently located on Hamline Ave, right off of I-94. Easy, free, and close parking.

Rules & League Policys


General Rules

Game is played with 6 players vs. 6 players No more than 12 players on a team total All players must be 18 years old to play Players may not sub for another team at any time Team must wear matching color jerseys or t-shirts Shirts must be tucked in at all times to make flag visible and able to grab Game balls will be provide and unless both teams agree on another ball Game play is 2, 20 minute halfs, with a stop time college rules in the last 2 minutes. Each team get one time out per half Referees will use college rules for clock and pass interference penaltys 1st Down marker is located at midfield End lines & goal lines will be marked by field lines & cones You have four downs to reach a 1st down or score On 4th down you may choose to punt, a punt is worth a walk off of 25 yards, if that makes it a touchback the ball will be placed on the 8 yd line Each series begins on the 8 yard line coming out Extra points; you may choose to go for 1 point or two points. 1 point try is from the 3 yd line and 2 point try is from the 6 yd line Players may dive to catch a ball, reach for ball advancement, and grab for flags Flag guarding is illegal and will result in penalty Ball carriers and flag grabbers must do the most they can to avoid contact of other persons (this is a no contact league, except for hand to hand contact) You may align however you wish, but there must be one person to snap ball between legs to QB All players may release for a pass There is to be no physical blocking or combat during any pass rushing attempt by the lineman, all block must be above the waist and with extension QB, may not run unless they are rushed by the defense and ball must be passed forward and laterals are legal College Passing rules will apply in all games

The undersigned hereby gives permission for themselves and on behalf of everybody that plays on their team to attend and participate in the CU Flag Football League at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota. I hereby swear and represent that I have received the authorization and consent as to each individual playing on my team, for that individual to get any X-ray examination, anesthetic, medical, surgical or dental diagnosis or treatment, hospital care, and/or transportation for such care, to be rendered upon my decision or that of the senior member of my team, such care to be rendered under the general or special supervision and on the advice of any physician or dentist licensed under the provisions of the Medical Practice Act on the medical staff of a licensed hospital, whether such diagnosis or treatment is rendered at the office of said physician or at said hospital. The undersigned shall be responsible to inform all parties of their team that they are fully liable for any and all injuries and expenses that may come with those situations, and further to insure that any person participating on my team shall have signed the Participant Waiver necessary to permit such participation. I further represent and agree that I have informed all team members that, pursuant to the Participation Waiver, that team member or their parent or guardian must pay all costs and expenses incurred in connection with such medical and dental services rendered to the aforementioned person pursuant to this authorization. Should it be necessary for a person to return home due to medical reasons or otherwise, the participating member and/or the undersigned shall assume all transportation costs. The undersigned does also hereby give permission for the person to ride in any vehicle designated by the adult in whose care the minor has been entrusted while attending and participating in activities sponsored by Concordia University. I further give permission for any pictures or videos taken while participating in the CU Flag Football League to be used at the discretion of Concordia University, its students, faculty, staff, or other representatives. I release and forever discharge Concordia University/CU Flag Football League, their agents and servants, successors and assigns, directors, trustees, officers, employees, and other representatives against loss from any and all present or future claims, demands or actions in law or in equity that may hereafter be made or brought by me, by anyone on behalf of me, or by anyone else on their own behalf for damages or any other legal or equitable remedy on account of any injury, illness, physical condition, inconvenience, or loss sustained the person during the planned activities for which the person is registering to participate. I further agree to indemnify Concordia University, CU Flag Football League, their agents and servants, successors and assigns, directors, trustees, officers, employees, and other representatives against loss from any and all present or future claims, demands or actions in law or in equity that may hereafter be made or brought by me or by anyone on my team for damages or any other legal or equitable remedy on account of any injury, illness, physical condition, inconvenience, or loss sustained by myself or any team member while participating in any fashion in the CU Flag Football League.

Playoff Standards & Tie Breakers


Playoffs will be determined by the following set of standards for each separate division.

Game Play

Finish in the top four of the standings in your division * If there is a tie the following will be the tie breaker standards* 1. Head to Head Competition 2. Total Point Differential, this is total points scored minus total points allowed 3. Total Points scored 4. Total Points Allowed

Playoff Game Format


On the championship night double header, each divisions championship round will be held on the field simultaneously. One semi-final game will be held in the first hour. One semi-final game will be held in the second hour. The championship game of each division will be held in the 3rd and final hour.
