Good Wheel Riders Club

Good Wheel Riders is an independent organization of all motorcycle riders right to ride, motorcycle safety and responsibility and to promote service and support within the community. Created January 17, 2002 as non-profit motorcycle association. Each year we have a scholarship fund raiser in April that goes to selected seniors at Catoosa High School.

GWR Riding Events
A Celebration of Life ride was held for Quennie Elizabeth on January 29th. Queenie was at the Cimarron Bar enjoying life when she had an embolism and was rushed to the hospital. The Celebration of Life ride included many of her children along with Goodwheel riders Rodney & Betty Greenwalt, Brian & Kim Doles, Dennis Lovett & Lisa Swanson. In all there were around 35 to 40 bikes. This was a unique ride in that everyone rode together in formation as a group. I did not know Queenie but I felt lucky to be part of it and was thanked by several children for attending. Donations were

New Business:
Applications were delivered to Catoosa High School for 2012 College Scholarships. Scholarship Poker Run & Chili Cook-Off tentatively set for April, Saturday 28th pending conflict with any other bike runs that day. (Kesha Stanton)

State Rep:
A final ruling was made by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regarding cell phone use by commercial truckers. Those who operate commercial trucks and buses will no longer be permitted to use any handheld cell phones while navigating their vehicles on the nations roadways. The new law will take effect January 3, 2012. No driver will be allowed to hold a cell phone in their hand while driving with the other, and, if they break the rule, they can face disciplinary actions. Offenses will count as traffic violations and several accrued infractions can lead to a commercial driving license being revoked. Drivers who violate the restriction will face federal civil penalties of up to $2,750 for each offense and disqualification from operating a commercial motor vehicle for multiple offenses. States will suspend a drivers commercial drivers license after two or more serious traffic violations. Commercial truck and bus companies that allow their drivers to use hand-held cell phones while driving will face a maximum penalty of $11,000. This ban follows the September 2010 ban regarding texting while operating a commercial truck or bus. (Rick Westerman) In addition it was noted by general consensus that Broken Arrow Bus Drivers Suck! Watch out.

Crazy Potter and Breeze

Memorial for Callejeros Crazy Potter

On February 11, a Memorial service will be held for Czy Potter at the Days Inn, 8181 E. Skelly Drive, Tulsa, OK. The service will start at 12:00PM. CMA Danny Talbot, Priesthood Tony G, Soldiers for Jesus Reverend Mike will officiate. Shortly after the service, we hope all visitors on motorcycles to join us on a Czy Potter Memorial Ride down Riverside Drive. We hope to see all Potter's friends and brothers at the service. March 5th (Monday), 2012 Oklahoma City ABATE State Capital Legislation Meet & Greet 8:30 till noon All motorcyclists are encouraged to ride to the Capital to meet your legislators and discuss laws affecting your rights as a motorcyclist.

Special Mention:
Thanks to ROY and PAT at the Old 33 Ice House Roy has added some nice seating in the back porch and while we were there on Queenies Ride I asked for any extra beer signs or lights for a game room Im starting up and Roy was kind enough to give me two signs and refused any money. He just asked I send a few riders his way. Thanks Roy!
