As our industry moves forward, it will be even more challenging to find and produce the ever more difficult reservoirs. This session will explore the operators perspective on evaluation, design and implementation of these cutting edge technologies for full field developments. 3:00 p.m. 3:15 p.m. Coffee Break 3:15 p.m. 5:15 p.m. Session 4: Extended Reach Drilling With the steep rise in deepwater development cost, ERD wells are increasingly being used to tap into reserves from a distance, instead of using additional platforms. Significant technology advancement has been achieved in recent years to extend the reach from 10,000 ft (3,000 m) in the mid-90s to now over 40,000 ft (12,000 m). The challenges in ERD are in hole cleaning and managing the significant torsion in the drill string, as well as any buckling of drill string or casing that is caused by the well geometry and length. In addition to drilling challenges, there is also the issue of running the completion. This session will address current experiences and limitations as well as discussing potential areas for future development of ERD technology in order to further push its applicability envelope. 5:15 p.m. 6:30 p.m. Session 5: Poster Session 7:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. Group Dinner Tuesday, 13 September 2011 7:30 a.m. 8:30 a.m. Breakfast 8:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. Session 6: Drilling, Wellbore Stability and ECD Long horizontal laterals pose many challenges to drilling, including cuttings transport, higher torque & drag and reduction of drilling window due to a combination of increasing ECD and reduction of tensile failure/shear failure window. A number of technologies have been employed to combat these problems, including Managed Pressure Drilling, Continuous Circulation, Casing Drilling and Stress Caging, plus other new and cutting edge technologies. In this session, we will hear from speakers who have encountered these issues and what strategies they employed to overcome them. 10:30 a.m. 10:45 a.m. Coffee Break 10:45 a.m. 12:45 p.m. Session 7: Completion Technology This session will aim to explore completion technology for multilateral horizontal wells. The content will cover broad areas from optimising design, perfecting installation, dealing with failures as well as meeting the objectives of the overall concept. Presentations will highlight emerging and applied completion technologies in use worldwide, for horizontal multilateral field developments. The session will greatly benefit existing multilateral users with reflection on a variety of past installations, to share learning across operators and vendors. This will also be a forward-looking Workshop for participants who have not been exposed to multilateral completion technology. Professionals involved in fields ranging from project management, reservoir engineering, drilling, completion, and production will benefit from attending. In this collaborative environment, we will aim to focus mutual efforts on challenging projects, learning one from another, and complementing each others technical and judgmental skills. 12:45 p.m. 1:45 p.m. Lunch 1:45 p.m. 3:45 p.m. Session 8: Production Optimisation Optimisation of Horizontal and Multilateral Wells How to mitigate the effects of excess formation damage caused by drilling fluid invasion from increased ECDs in extended horizontal wells Smart/Intelligent Well Production Optimisation Effective methods to correct heel toe imbalance Integrated Modelling and Optimisation Challenges Water and Gas breakthrough management in extended horizontal and multilateral wells Implications for Full-Field Optimisation

7:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m.

Coffee Break Session 9: Stimulation and Intervention This session will address the recent practices in the increasingly prevalent tight gas and unconventional reservoirs currently being developed through horizontal and multilateral drilling. It includes multizone stimulation techniques, mechanical services on electric line, such as tractor technology, fiber optic telemetry-enabled coiled tubing, and case histories of re-entering selective laterals. Group Dinner

Wednesday, 14 September 2011 7:30 a.m. 8:30 a.m. Breakfast 8:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. Session 10: Reservoir Modelling and Surveillance Historically, production performance for multilateral and horizontal wells has been overly predicted by numerical simulation during the planning and economic justification stage. Realistic prediction can be done by applying essential well constraints derived from post drilling and completion information. However, without proper surveillance program, the information is incomplete and imperfect, leading to erratic conclusions and more importantly misguided lessons learned and best practices for future application. This session will discuss the types of information that are critical to the performance prediction and evaluation as well as good and bad experiences associated with planning and implementation of surveillance and monitoring equipment. 10:30 a.m. 10:45 a.m. Coffee Break 10:45 a.m. 12:45 p.m. Session 11: Intelligent Wells Monitoring and Control The session will cover the use of intelligent wells and will address how to close the loop from data acquisition to control. We will discuss the various options for measurement and control in subsea and platform based intelligent wells. The utilisation of reservoir data, flow measurement and control systems and their effectiveness, options associated with flow control and data management. How to handle the volume of data being transmitted from the reservoir, distribution of data and what is done with the data. In addition, it provides the opportunity for sharing of best practices related to utilising the intelligent well techniques effectively monitoring and control of intelligent wells. 12:45 p.m. 1:45 p.m. Lunch 1:45 p.m. 3:45 p.m. Session 12: Unconventional Resources The recent focus on unconventional resources has led to a significant increase in recoverable energy. Coalbed methane and shale gas plays an important role here. In order to drain the reservoirs, long horizontal wells are required. These wells often have a high initial production followed by a long term flat production rate. To optimise production, different strategies and technologies must be developed. We will present challenges such as completion technology, new technology required for massive stimulation, and methods to minimise water production. 3:45 p.m. 4:00 p.m. Coffee Break 4:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. Session 13: Case Studies, Train Wrecks and Lessons Learned This session will review the learning curves, successes and failures of horizontal, multilateral and ERD wells. Case histories will be provided demonstrating the path to success. 6:00 p.m. 6:15 p.m. Session 14: Summary & Wrap Up
