SIP Trunking using Optimum Business SIP Trunk Adaptor and the Cisco SPA9000 Version 3.3.

Goal
The purpose of this configuration guide is to describe the steps needed to configure the Cisco SPA9000 PBX for proper operation with Optimum Business SIP Trunking.

Prerequisites
Please follow the instructions in the Optimum Business SIP Trunk Set-Up Guide. The Set-Up Guide was left by the Optimum Business technician at installation. If you do not have the Set-Up Guide, go to www.optimumbusiness.com/SIP to download a copy.

Cisco SPA9000 Configuration

The steps on the next page describe the minimum configuration required to enable the Cisco SPA9000 PBX to use a SIP trunk for inbound and outbound calling. Please refer to the Cisco SPA9000 product documentation for more information on advanced PBX features. The configuration described here assumes that the Cisco SPA9000 is already configured and operational with station side phones using assigned extensions or DIDs. This configuration is based on Cisco SPA9000 version 3.3.6.

For static or non-registration mode (registration mode is not currently supported): a. Select Voice. b. Select Line1. c. Enter the Proxy IP address in the Proxy and Registration section of the page. Use the IP address that was assigned to the Optimum Business SIP Trunk Adaptor LAN interface. This address was configured in step 2 in the Optimum Business SIP Trunk Set-up Guide (in the LAN Interface Settings section). d. Select Register as No from the pulldown menu in the Proxy and Registration section of the page. e. Set the Make Call Without Reg value to Yes. f. Set the Ans Call Without Reg value to Yes. g. Complete the Contact List field in the Subscriber Information section of the page. This field is required for inbound call routing, and is used to map the DIDs to the LAN side phones of the SPA9000. Configure incoming call handling according to the specifics of your installation. In the example below, calls to DID 6316799182 are routed by the SPA9000 to LAN side phone extension 102, calls to DID 6316769183 are routed by the SPA9000 to LAN side phone extension 103 and so on.

To configure DTMF Mode, you need to use the AA Decode Inband DTMF drop-down box. Select Yes from the drop-down. The SPA9000 will then use In-band DTMF as well as RFC2833. This is the required configuration. To configure Caller ID, go to the Line pages and then the Subscriber Information section. The Display Name is the name displayed for Caller ID. The User ID is the number displayed for outbound Caller ID. In nonRegistration mode (Static IP mode), you may opt to have either the pilot DID or a non-pilot DID as the Caller ID for the outbound call.
