The Oracle Workforce Development Program (WDP) is a unique partnership opportunity

for institutions seeking to offer Oracle training.

This Program Guide presents an overview of the WDP partnership including benefits,
requirements, resources available, budgeting information, ordering materials, and
instructor qualifications.

Introduction and Benefits

Oracle Corporation launched WDP to address the continued global information

technology (IT) worker shortage and need for accessible and low cost IT skills training.
WDP enables participating educational institutions to deliver Oracle training in full-time
and part-time programs for students in their local communities.

WDP training will prepare students for Oracle certification testing. With the widely-
acclaimed credential of Oracle certification, WDP students are readied for a variety of
entry-level Oracle job-roles as well as career advancement. For more information on the

Requirements

WDP partners must adhere to the following requirements:

• When teaching for certification, employ instructors who have passed OCP
exams: If an instructor is to deliver a WDP course and is teaching to certification,
we strongly recommend that the WDP instructor successfully pass the OCP
exam corresponding to that course. This is a quality assurance measure that
ensures the instructor is capable to guide students toward the certification
objective.
 • Offer training to adult learners not businesses: The purpose of WDP is to
reach the individual learner who is seeking low cost access to Oracle training in
his/her local community. The WDP student candidate would not be sent by
his/her employer for Oracle specific training. WDP partners agree to provide
Oracle training for individuals seeking IT skills. These individuals can be
displaced workers, transitional workers or individuals reskilling for a change in
careers. The WDP partner cannot engage in contract training with businesses to
deliver customized Oracle training. WDP partners cannot engage in marketing
that promotes training to corporate audiences includes--but is not limited to--mail
campaigns that use information technology (IT) mailing lists and newspaper ads
suggesting that the WDP partner provides classes appropriate for business.

• Deliver WDP class instruction no more than 12 hours/week: WDP courses

are meant as a longer cycle training venue as a complement to Oracle
University's full-time 5 days or less training. This requirement enables WDP
students to access classes at convenient times and affordable prices. The 12
hours/week limit includes all class and lab time. The only exception to the 12
hour/week limit is for a fulltime degree or diploma program in which Oracle
content comprises no more than 70% of the entire program, the program duration
extends longer than 5 months, and students must be required to enroll in the
entire program of study.

• Meet hardware and operating system requirements: Hardware requirements

will vary depending upon the WDP curriculum you deliver.

** If you would like to teach the Backup and Recovery, it is
recommended that the server configuration be increased to: Minimum
runtime requirements for the database server/per student account Disk
Space - 300 MB Memory - 50 MB.
 • Meet facility recommendations: To ensure successful delivery of the WDP
program, each classroom should be equipped with the following:
o Instructor PC
o Student PCs - maximum two students per PC
o Projection equipment and screen
o Blackboard or whiteboard

• Must provide one WDP Student Kit per WDP student: Students come to
Oracle for quality instruction. As an Oracle partner, WDP members must be
committed to delivering the highest quality Oracle program. To ensure this quality
for every WDP program, we require that each WDP student receive a WDP
student kit for each WDP course s/he takes from a WDP partner. Instructors may
augment the WDP curriculum, however, each student in any Oracle course must
have a WDP Student Kit.

• Submit Planning Document and Forecast: At the beginning of the membership

year, each member department location will be required to complete and submit
two documents describing their annual WDP program. These documents request
information specific to your WDP program and a forecast of the resources you
will need throughout the year. You will be asked to submit these reports at time of
initial membership and renewal, and to maintain their accuracy throughout the
year.

• Complete online application and sign agreement: The WDP applicant must
provide all required information at time of application and accept the terms and
conditions of membership. WDP Terms and Conditions are nonnegotiable and
subject to change at Oracle's discretion.

• Provide and maintain updated contact information: Every WDP member

must provide a valid Internet address and be able to communicate via electronic
mail. This capability ensures consistent and efficient communication and
information sharing with Oracle and WDP program administration.

Curriculum and Curriculum Pricing

What's Available: WDP member departments are authorized to use curricula

developed exclusively by Oracle University - Oracle’s corporate training division.
We have made available curricula offerings that would prepare the WDP student
 to obtain widely recognized Oracle certifications including the Oracle Certified
Professional (OCP) and the new Oracle Certified Associate (OCA).
About WDP Curriculum and Certification: The WDP curriculum offerings
parallel the Oracle certification tracks and prepare the WDP student to sit for
corresponding certification designation exams. To get more details about the

• What’s Included: WDP curriculum offerings include all the instructor and student
materials needed to replicate Oracle courses as offered by Oracle University.

o Instructor materials include: instructor manuals, lab setups, PDF version

of electronic presentation teaching slides and student practices. Instructor
manuals are purchased from the order form located on the WDP Member
Pages. PDF electronic presentation files, lab setups and practices are
downloaded from the download section of the WDP Member Pages.
o Student kits include the corresponding student manuals. Student kits are
purchased from the order form located on the WDP Member Pages.

WDP instructor members can order vouchers which both students and
instructors can redeem for a 40% discount on Oracle certification exams.

• Ordering Curriculum: Curriculum is available for WDP Members via an online

order form accessible after member login.

Software and Support

• Software is ordered during initial membership application. Software is shipped

the first year only. The license is renewed each additional membership year.
Members are required to report the total number of students who willl use or
access the Oracle software during the membership year.

• Software upgrades are available free throughout the membership year via Oracle
Support.

Budgeting

Institutions preparing a budget to participate in WDP should factor program costs as

follows:

• Annual WDP membership fee. Kindly contact your local WDP representative for
further information.
• Per unit Student Kit cost per course, most tracks are comprised of 4-6 courses
• Training fees for WDP instructors.

Applying for Membership

WDP Membership is offered to teaching institutions.

To apply for WDP membership on behalf of organization, please contact your local
WDP representative.

Preparing WDP Instructors Oracle wants to ensure the delivery of high-quality WDP
training. To this end, we require that WDP instructors be qualified through the following
methods:

• Instruction at Oracle University:

o At least the lead instructor must complete the Oracle University class
corresponding to the WDP class s/he will teach. This enables the
instructor to

 ensure s/he knows the content

 able to see how OU instructors use the resources s/he will be
using including the PowerPoints, manuals, labs and practices

o Additional instructors must complete the Oracle University class

corresponding to the WDP class they will teach OR participate in WDP
training offered by the lead instructor already approved to deliver WDP
classes

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Exam: Oracle certification is a good

measure of an instructor's Oracle product knowledge. Given this, we highly
recommend that all WDP instructors pass the OCP exam corresponding to the
WDP course they will teach. (Where an OCP exam for a particular class does not
exist, this requirement will not apply.) To prepare for the OCP exam, WDP
member instructors have a number of options:

o Attend an instructor-led course: Oracle University (OU) delivers

daytime classes in a format serving customers on a 1 to 5 day, 6 to 8
hours/day schedule. OU also delivers night/weekend training in select
regions across the globe. As a WDP partner, you will receive a 50%
