ABOUT The Giving Insurance Pledge is an effort to unite diverse groups of ten wealthy individuals to anonymously commit to giving one billion dollars of life insurance to the philanthropic causes and charitable organizations of each individuals choice. The designated charities will receive the life insurance proceeds precisely at the death of the group of tens last surviving insured. Each person who chooses to pledge will record an anonymous statement for public release upon their death, along with an anonymous letter while they are alive explaining their decision to pledge. At an annual event, those groups of ten who make the pledge will come together to share ideas about true unconditional sharing and learn from each other about the merits of anonymous giving.
Whereas the Buffet-Gates Giving Pledge initiative is a moral, non-binding, public pledge, the Giving Insurance Pledge is a spiritual and binding commitment to give life insurance anonymously by pooling insurable interests and money.
