listening to God is an art form of prayer that brings out your creativity and draws you into the presence of Jesus. It allows the Holy Spirit to work through you as you read the Scriptures to discover the treasures that are in the written Word of God. once discovered this art becomes a way of life as you journey with Jesus on your own road to emmaus. you soon discover your eyes are opened and life becomes a communion with Jesus as you break bread together. listening to God is a healing form of prayer where your expectations come from Jesus rather than from yourself. In listening you receive a personal message for, Jesus is always whispering to you.

INTRODUCTION TO THE BOOK OF HEBREWS

s I listen to Jesus through the Book of Hebrews I find this to be one of the most interesting and exciting books of the Bible. listening to Jesus brings on new meaning to the original book. It brings together the old Covenant and the new Covenant in a new and meaningful way. The Book is certainly centered on the person and work of Jesus. I find the first part of the book focuses on the identity of Jesus. It works through both His Humanity and His Divinity. Because it begins with the old Covenant the emphasis is on Jesus being the High Priest. We also see that Jesus takes on the role of Prophet and King. When a person accepts who Jesus is they become not only His disciples but also His priests. Because we are of the Royal Priesthood, Jesus begins to instruct His priests on how to live and serve in His Kingdom. We have much to learn as we wrestle with such topics as maturity, tithing, discipline, Sabbath rest, worship, and even the church. Jesus gives us words of encouragement and how to grow in our faith. He challenges us to journey to His Mountain and then move out to influence the world in which we live. There are two parts to this book. The first part is written in the form of a daily devotion. each day focuses on a special thought. you may decide to do two a day, one in the morning and one at night. In each devotional verse I have included the new living Translation so you can compare it with the listening to Jesus text. The second part of the book takes each verse and puts it in the first person so you listen to Jesus speaking to you while reading the Book of Hebrews. Keep in mind that the listening to Jesus text is not a translation or even a paraphrase. It is an attempt to listen to what Jesus is saying through His written word for todays generation. as you read you may hear Jesus through His Holy Spirit say something different to you. Be open to this. enjoy the journey.

Since the beginning of creation it has been My Fathers desire to communicate to all people. Communication reveals who He is and establishes relationships. My Fathers main means of speaking to people before My Incarnation was through prophets. Prophets are people He has chosen, people who would listen to Him for that Divine message. They then share that message to the people.

But now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he made the universe and everything in it.

LISTENING TO JESUS

Today there are new revelations and also a new way that God is revealing Himself to the world. God, My Father has appointed Me to be that new Revelation. He describes this new revelation in seven significant ways: Since I have completed the work of redemption I have been exalted by God to be the firstborn. This means that I have inherited all of Gods creation. The universe was created through Me by My Father. For this reason I am the supreme ruler over all. nothing could have been created apart from Me.
