As a 3-term Willoughby Hills Councilman-at-Large with an education including an M.S. in Management and a B.A. in Urban Studies, I have a solid and ideal foundation of understanding that is unparalleled by any other candidate for this office. My service and experience in a very diverse community, and the participation in the citys recent turnaround will be vital in my approach to county government. Also, my successful property management background is an ideal fit for the role of Commissioner, as one of their chief responsibilities is to maintain the buildings of county government. Leadership in the non-profit sector also has provided an outstanding overview of how government Page 1 of 3

can work not only within but outside the organization. Problem solving and goal achievement are common threads in my management background.
Lake County commissioners office needs a person of education, experience and understanding of the job creators in our county to help them, not hinder them.

Platform My Goal
My goal is to make Lake County Job Ready. To make it a better place to live, to work, and to raise a family. A better place to retire. A better place to start or grow a business.

My Commitment
My personal commitment to you and the voters who sent me to city hall three times is unchanged: To be an accessible and accountable public servant, and to always use my common sense. Ive been successful at my business by seeking ways to work smarter and more efficiently. That is how I promise to serve as your next Commissioner. Im committed to increase, develop, and retain its job creators, taking Lake Countys employment and production to its greatest possible level.

My Plan
My plan to make Lake County Job Ready has three pillars: (1) Create jobs. First and foremost, I will work with leaders in the public and private sector to enhance the environment for private sector job growth. As your next Commissioner, I won't just talk about the unemployment problem. We must actively promote economic development and work to responsibly leverage the natural resources and competent workforce of our beautiful county to attract new businesses and retain our employers. Im Job Ready and our Lake County will be too! (2) Stop raising taxes. In tough times, we all need to live within our means, and county government is no different. As your next Commissioner, my answer to deficits won't be a tax hike. Cutting waste, rewarding those who find cost savings, and working within the limits of what you and every citizen already contribute to Lake County will bring about fiscally responsible government. (3) Conduct a county-wide assessment. Responsible government begins with openness and accountability. As your next Commissioner, I will create mission statements and measurable benchmarks for each county department. Where feasible, I will conduct a performance audit to evaluate our employees' performance and efficiency, improve services, and reduce costs. Every department and every employee needs to be accountable to the voters. Costs must be justified. I will use my management skills to evaluate, communicate, and motivate our county government team to achieve these goals. We say that Dave Fiebig is Job Ready for the role of Commissioner and after reviewing these achievements, we hope you agree.
