D Dear friends, Y You might have noticed a few changes around the Glen Ellyn Library in recent months. In an e effort to more accurately reect the role of the modern public library, we have been working hard to improve our building, services, and collections. As of March 1, were adopting a new look as well. If you take a look at the cover of this event guide, youll notice our new logo. At rst glance, you might think, Books, books and more books. I urge you to turn back to the cover and take a second glance. Every person uses the library somewhat differently. Imagine a DVD, magazine, Kindle, CD, or mp3 player. Imagine all the reasons you use GEPL. We offer so much more than books, even though we still have more than a few reading recommendations to share if youre interested! When I think of GEPL, I think of a place in Glen Ellyn where friends, families, businesspeople and more may come together in the community to share everything from a computer class to a simple cup of coffee. (Did you know we allow drinks in the library as long as they have a lid?) Wed like to extend this community atmosphere online, where it may be enjoyed day or night. Also launching March 1 is our new website, still accessible at gepl.org. The new site now incorporates blogs from staff, robust resources and content for patrons of all ages, our online event calendar, and access to all of the great online resources that were available at the old website. For those of you who like to ease into change, the old website will still be available for a couple of months at gepl.org/legacy. I encourage everyone reading this to visit the new gepl.org beginning March 1 to see how GEPL can offer you so much more than books!
