MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL GOURMET FESTIVAL 2009 (MIGF)

Tactical Plan The Malaysia International Gourmet Festival made its debut in 2001 when the organizers, AsiaReach Events, brought together an intrepid group of 13 restaurants to form the inaugural KL International Gourmet Festival (KLIGF). The Malaysia International Gourmet Festival (MIGF) is a firmly established, internationally recognized event which confirms Malaysias status as the top gastronomic nation in region. It is an event focusing on fine dining, Malaysians should be proud of. Officially endorsed as one of Tourism Malaysias 50 key events in its annual calendar, MIGF is under the global spotlight, proudly catapulting food tourism in Malaysia to a whole new level. That maiden Festival was initiated in response to the industry's need for zest and a rejuvenation of the then very obscure fine dining scene. Though Malaysians have always enjoyed dining out, their overriding preference was for traditional restaurants and hawker food. Only a few fine dining restaurants existed for the simple reason there was not a large enough base of local diners to draw upon.

Standing Plan During the Festival, restaurants put aside their competitive differences, share contacts and come together in a collective marketing effort. Rather than bringing in chefs from abroad for a one-off food promotion, the Festivals unwavering focus is on the skills of the world-class chefs already residing in Malaysia and the all-year-round quality of our cuisine and restaurants.

The Malaysia International Gourmet Festival is largely supported by corporate benefactors from the private sector and industry-related organizations. This year, alongside the Main Sponsor Vision Four Media Group, Tourism Malaysia has come onboard as Principal Partner; Mercedes Benz (M) Sdn Bhd as Official Automobile Sponsor, Canon Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd as Official imaging partner; and Prince Court Medical Centre Sdn Bhd as Official Wellness Partner. Other partners include the Asian Food Channel; and World Express Travel (M) Sdn Bhd. MIGF 2009 Media Partners are ASTRO, Lite FM, Vision Four TV, Vision KL Magazine, the www.MIGF.com website, and Seni Jaya Sdn. Bhd. The organizer of MIGF deal with these organizations to ensure the plans of this festival run smoothly without any problems occurs. All the policies, procedures and rules in running this festival will be implemented so the festivals objectives and goals will be successfully achieved.
