We re looking for 8 Non-Profit Founders: Are you one of them?

Perhaps you ve lived your passion and addressed a social need, drawing every ounce of entrepreneurial essence you could muster to launch your organization. And then you spent a few decades laboring to grow and sustain this entity - one that truly made a difference in peoples lives. If you are among this rarified group of proven social entrepreneurs, then you may be hearing a voice asking if it s time to now step aside and let a new Executive Director/CEO take the lead. Is the voice coming from your Board? Your colleagues? Is the voice coming from within, telling you it s time? Do you know someone who is hearing the voice? A Rare Opportunity: Available to Only 8 Eligible Founder-Leaders . The Milano Graduate School of International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy, a division of the New School in New York, has been at the cutting edge of helping new Executive Directors move seamlessly into their role. Through our Following the Founder program, funded by a generous grant from Ann Tenenbaum and Tom Lee, the Tenenbaum Leadership Initiative (TLI) has worked with scores of new Executive Directors to make this often difficult transition. After winning acclaim from The Financial Times of London and The Chronicle of Philanthropy, we re now taking TLI to its next, logical extension: Helping founders step down. We are awarding eight fully-funded invitations to founders, who are at the initial stage of contemplating their succession, to participate in The Founders Studio. The Founders Studio? The Studio will consist of eight founders, joined by professionals who are experts in transition management, to explore the challenges of stepping aside and the ways in which you can make this transition as seamless as possible. With a cadre of acclaimed specialists in management succession and psychological transition, we will spend the last weekend in April at a gorgeous, private estate in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts.

What s the Catch? All expenses, with the exception of transportation to and from the Berkshires for this weekend, will be covered by the Tenenbaum Leadership Initiative. We seek a diverse group of accomplished non-profit founders who find themselves at the beginning of this succession journey and a desire to do it the right way. If selected, you will agree to keep the names of other founders participating private and, of course, the nature of conversations held over the weekend equally confidential.

Is your interest is piqued? Please contact TLI s Director, Mark Lipton, Ph.D. He will answer your questions and provide more details: lipton@newschool.edu
