Provisioning Process
Absolute File Path of Oracle Fusion Application Home Directory
Due to a known limitation of the WebLogic platform, the absolute file path field in a provisioning plan for APPLICATIONS_BASE, the Oracle Fusion Application Home directory, must not exceed 59 characters. Otherwise, provisioning always fails to patch WebLogic and you cannot use WebLogic Smart Update to patch WebLogic either. This limitation applies to all supported operating systems. Workaround During creation of a provisioning plan, ensure that the absolute file path of Oracle Fusion Application Home does not exceed 59 characters before provisioning a new application environment.

If you plan to use different languages for SOA Human Workflow, perform the following steps either before provisioning a new environment or to manually enable languages after an environment has already been provisioned. Workaround Before Provisioning a New Environment 1. Create copy of the soa-hwf-configureLocaleList.py file in <FRAMEWORK_LOCATION>/provisioning/provisioning-build/ and name it soa-hwf-configureLocaleList.py.orig. 2. Edit soa-hwf-configureLocaleList.py by changing the two 0's, '0, 0' to '0, 1' in following line from: params = jarray.array([i, languageToCountryDict[i], variantFlag, 0, 0], Object) to: params = jarray.array([i, languageToCountryDict[i], variantFlag, 0, 1], Object) 3. If you plan to use the Arabic (ar) or the Dutch (nl) languages, then add the following lines after languageToCountryDict['fr']=': languageToCountryDict['ar']='' languageToCountryDict['nl']='' 4. Save the file. Then begin provisioning a new environment. Workaround After An Environment Has Already Been Provisioned To enable languages for SOA Human Workflow if your environment has been provisioning without the workaround above, follow the steps described in the "How to Change the Language in Which Tasks Are Displayed" section of the Oracle Fusion Middleware Developer's Guide for Oracle SOA Suite, 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.5.0), Part Number E10224-09. Instead of clicking the Language in the Name column, click Enable. Then set its value to 'true'. You will need to perform this workaround for every SOA cluster in every product family domain for every language where you want to enable additional languages. To ensure the changes take effect, restart the SOA clusters or servers.

1. You can ignore this error but you should review other errors in the Validate phase. If no other errors are found, click Cancel to terminate the provisioning process. The final provisioning summary file that describes the installation and includes the URL to the Oracle Fusion Applications home page is not created. Instead, you can go to the Oracle Fusion Applications home page directly at http://<address of the external virtual host for the common domain>:<external port, if applicable>/homePage. You can find the address and port of the external virtual host in the summary file created by the provisioning plan. 2. Alternatively, you may rerun the validate phase after making the following changes: a. Create a copy of the framework_location/provisioning/provisioningbuild/webgate-build.xml file and name it webgate-build.xml.orig. Then open webgate-build.xml for editing. b. Search for the line that contains the following text: <validateWebPageStatus Url ="http://${${component.key}.host.host.name}:${${compo nent.key}.webtier.port}/${${component.key}.diagnostic s.url}" responseCode="401" /> 3. When provisioning certain configurations, jobs from other configurations are needed to complete some business processes. If you select the Oracle Fusion Sales, Oracle Fusion Projects, or Oracle Fusion Procurement configuration, then you must also select the Oracle Fusion Enterprise Contracts configuration. If you select Sales or Marketing, then you must also select Customer Data Hub configuration.
Post-configuration
When you run the postconfigure phase in Provisioning, there is no process to alert you if the Node Managers are not running. Workaround To check the status of Node Managers, run the following command before running the postconfigure phase: ps -aef|grep Nodenetstat -a|grep 5556 If the Node Managers are started, you will receive a message about the status of the Node Managers on that port. For example: <Mar 23, 2011 3:09:26 PM> <INFO> <Secure socket listener started on port 5556>

Release Notes
Depending on your deployment topology and the order in which product families were provisioned, the actual identity plug-in endpoint varies. The search application registered as the Oracle Fusion Applications Search identity plug-in endpoint needs to be set up for High Availability. Out of the box, each of the three search applications is deployed and installed into a WebLogic Services (WLS) cluster with one server.
Note: Oracle Secure Enterprise Search (SES) provides the fundamental search capability of Oracle Fusion Applications Search.
Workaround Set up high availability by adding more WLS servers into the cluster. See the Oracle Fusion Middleware High Availability Guide, 11g (11.1.1), Part Number E10106-15, for the steps required to add more managed servers into the cluster. Use the following steps to find the search application used as the Oracle Fusion Applications Search identity plug-in endpoint. 1. Log into the Oracle SES Administration UI with the administration user name and password at the following URL. http: <host_name>:<port>/search/admin/control/login.jsp For example: http://adcdab04.us.oracle.com:7016/search/admin/cont rol/login.jsp 2. Click Global Settings 3. Click Identity Management Setup The values for HTTP endpoint for authentication and the User ID identify the search application used. For example: User ID = FUSION_APPS_CRM_ECSF_SEARCH_APPID means that the CRM search application is used. User ID = FUSION_APPS_HCM_ECSF_SEARCH_APPID means that the HCM search application is used. User ID = FUSION_APPS_FSCM_ECSF_SEARCH_APPID means that the Financial search application is used. 4. Change the HTTP endpoint for authentication and the User ID values to the other corresponding active search application.

A WebLogic server configuration setting is available to resolve this issue. Depending on the Oracle Fusion Applications products installed, the configuration change needs to be applied to one or more of the following managed servers:
CRM Search Server (crmSearch) FSCM Search Server (fscmSearch) HCM Search Server (hcmSearch)

Perform the following steps for each of the CRM, FSCM, and HCM domains. 1. Log into the administration console (of CRM, FSCM, or HCM domain). 2. Click Lock & Edit on the left side. 3. Navigate to Environment > Servers. 4. Click on <Search server name> such as CRM Search Server, HCM Search Server, or Financial Search Server. 5. Click on the Protocols tab.

Oracle Fusion Applications Search May Not Crawl All Data Correctly in All Languages
The procedure for running crawls in a given language is to set the FND_LANGUAGE Profile Option for the following three pillar-specific crawl APPIDs to the language desired prior to starting the crawl process: 1. FUSION_APPS_CRM_ECSF_CRAWL_APPID 2. FUSION_APPS_FSCM_ECSF_CRAWL_APPID 3. FUSION_APPS_HCM_ECSF_CRAWL_APPID For languages that have more than one locale (such as Simplified Chinese vs. Traditional Chinese) there is an issue with ECSF that prevents translated labels from being correctly incorporated into the body of documents for indexing.

Profile Options
Profile Option Caching
Multiple successive attempts to launch tasks for managing specific profile option values from the Setup and Maintenance work area within the same session may erroneously result in the previously selected profile option being displayed, or a blank page being displayed, due to caching issues.

81
Release Notes
For example, within the same session you execute Task A for managing values for a specific profile option A, then Task B for managing values for a specific profile option B. Caching issues may prevent task B from properly displaying the values for profile option B.
Flexfields
A flexfield is an extensible data field that is divided into segments and available for capturing enterprise specific information.

Release Notes
Workaround If value sets changed, manually redeploy the affected flexfields. In the case of key flexfields and descriptive flexfields, you can redeploy based on the deployment status having changed to Edited. In the case of all flexfields, after changing a value set check the usages of the value set by performing the Manage Value Sets task. Value set usage identifies the flexfields where the selected value set is currently used. Manually redeploy these flexfields.

Session Impersonation
Restricted Search
User Search for assigning impersonation grants does not return any results when searched for a CRM enterprise role user. The search logic is restricted to the application stripe that the search flow is hosted in, such as FSCM. For example, a search for channel_operations_manager will not return any results in the Search UI. Workaround Impersonation User search for 11g (11.1.1.5.1) checks users for the Impersonation privilege in only a single application stripe, such as Financials and Supply Chain Management (FSCM). Any enterprise roles that need the Impersonation privilege must be mapped to the FND_IMPERSONATOR_DUTY_ROLE. For example, map the CRM Channel Manager job role to the FND_IMPERSONATOR_DUTY_ROLE in the FSCM strip. To map an enterprise role to the FND_IMPERSONATOR_DUTY_ROLE, perform the Manage Duties in the Authorization Policy Manager. You can access the Manage Duties task by starting in the Setup and Maintenance Overview page and searching for Manage Duties.
Note: The environment must be centrally controlled to use the Authorization Policy Manager for this role mapping task.
1. In the Authorization Policy Manager, search for FND_IMPERSONATOR_DUTY_ROLE in the stripe where impersonation needs to be extended to other application stripe users, such as the FSCM stripe. 2. Open the FND_IMPERSONATOR_DUTY_ROLE application role and view the External Role Mapping tab. Two enterprise roles are mapped by default in the FSCM stripe. 3. To add a role to the mapping, click Add and then Search. From the search results, select the enterprise role provisioned to users who require the Impersonation privilege, such as the CRM Channel Manager job role.

Data Masking
Configuration of data masking in the Oracle Fusion Applications environment requires execution of the data masking script. In the Oracle Human Capital Management product family environment, the index rebuild of index FUSION.EGP_ITEM_TEXT_TL_CTX1 is excluded from the data masking script for performance and safety considerations. Workaround Manually rebuild the index after the script has been executed. To rebuild FUSION.EGP_ITEM_TEXT_TL_CTX1, manually run one of the following DDL commands: alter index FUSION.EGP_ITEM_TEXT_TL_CTX1 rebuild parallel; or alter index FUSION.EGP_ITEM_TEXT_TL_CTX1 rebuild;

Modify oracleRoot.sh Script and Run It as root When Configuring Oracle Internet Directory Instances
in Chapter 7 Extending the Domain with Oracle Internet Directory, a step is missing from Section 7.3.1 Configuring the First Oracle Internet Directory Instance, and Section 7.3.2 Configuring an Additional Oracle Internet Directory Instance. The following step should be added before the step "On the Configuration screen, multiple configuration assistants are launched in succession. This process can be lengthy. Wait for the configuration process to finish": On Linux and UNIX systems, a dialog box appears that prompts you to run the oracleRoot.sh script. Open a Shell window and edit the script, changing the line: fi# This command path is not already provided in the existing root.sh to two lines, like this: fi # This command path is not already provided in the existing root.sh Save the file, then run the oracleRoot.sh script, as the root user.

Update Descriptions of IDSTORE_HOST and IDSTORE_PORT in the Properties Files Used with idmConfigTool.sh prepareIDStore
In Chapter 11 Preparing Identity and Policy Stores, Step 2 in each of the subsections under Section 11.4 Preparing the Identity Store lists contents of a properties file and describe the properties in Step 2. The descriptions of IDSTORE_HOST and IDSTORE_PORT should be updated to say: IDSTORE_HOST and IDSTORE_PORT are, respectively, the host and port of your Identity Store directory. If you are using a non-Oracle Internet Directory directory, then specify the Oracle Virtual Directory host (which should be IDSTORE.mycompany.com). If your Identity Store is in Oracle Internet Directory, then IDSTORE_HOST should point to Oracle Internet Directory, even if you are fronting Oracle Internet Directory with Oracle Virtual Directory.

Changes to Section 11.4.6 Creating Access Control Lists in Non-Oracle Internet Directory Directories
The section 11.4.6 Creating Access Control Lists in Non-Oracle Internet Directory Directories should read as follows: In the preceding sections, you seeded the Identity Store with users and artifacts for the Oracle components. If your Identity Store is hosted in a nonOracle Internet Directory directory, such as Microsoft Active Directory, you must set up the access control information (ACIs) to provide appropriate privileges to the entities you created. This section lists the artifacts created and the privileges required for the artifacts.
Users and groups. ACIs to the users and groups container are
provided in Oracle Internet Directory. Set them manually for other directories. The Oracle Identity Manager/Oracle Access Manager integration and Fusion Applications require the following artifacts to be created in the Identity store.
Group with read privileges to the users container (orclFAUserReadPrivilegeGroup). Configure the local directory ACIs so that that this group has privileges to read all the attributes of the users in the Identity Store. Group with read/write privileges to the users container (orclFAUserWritePrivilegeGroup)

system identifiers. If there is another container in which the users are to be created, that is specified as part of the admin.
Oracle Access Manager Admin User. This user is added to the OAM
Administrator group, which provides permission for the administration of the OAM console. No LDAP schema level privileges are required, since this is just an application user.
Oracle Access Manager Software User. This user is added to the
groups where the user gets read privileges to the container. This is also provided with schema admin privileges.
Oracle Identity Manager user under System ID container. Password
policies are set accordingly in the container. The passwords for the users in the System ID container must be set up so that they do not expire.
Oracle Identity Manager administration group. The Oracle Identity
Manager user is added as its member. The Oracle Identity Manager admin group is given complete read/write privileges to all the user and group entities in the directory.
Reserve container. This container is internally used by Oracle Identity
Manager for temporarily reserving the login IDs of users. Hence, permissions are provided to the Oracle Identity Manager admin group to perform read/write operations
