1. With your counselor's and a parent's approval, interview one person from the branch of government you identified in requirement 4a. Ask what is being done about this issue and how young people can help.
1. Share what you have learned with your counselor. . I

emailed christine gregoire on the topic of changing the drinking age from 21 to 18. 1. With the approval of your counselor and a parent, watch a movie that shows how the actions of one individual or group of individuals can have a positive effect on a community. Discuss with your counselor what you learned from the movie about what it means to be a valuable and concerned member of the community. I watched a movie called Extraordinary Measures. It was about a father with two kids (8 and 6) that had a disease called pompe a condition that prevents the body from breaking down sugar. In time, it disables the heart and the muscles, ultimately resulting in death. This disease made the life expectancy in the child a maximum of nine years. The father is determined to help his children. There was no cure to the disease so the father meets up with a man that is a scientist and was studying the disease for years. The scientist tries to prove his theory to cure the disease. Working together, they made it happen and helped children with this disease have a much longer life expectancy. If it werent for their efforts and determinations, children might still be dying of this disease. 1. Recreation Centers like YMCA they are more affordable than other exercising centers and it helps you to stay in fit. Public parks and pools If somebody wanted to go to a park with the family they could go to a public park for free. Or if they just wanted to relax in the pool they could pay a small fee and have some fun. 1.
