Public Speaking (COMM 211) The public speaking course gave me the opportunity to acquire skills in audience engagement, speechwriting, and mass communications. Public Relations Writing for Journalistic Media (COMM 315) Public Relations Writing for Journalistic Media gave me the opportunity to learn the technicalities of Associated Press Style, which were implemented in a semester long media kit project produced for Lee Universitys Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. Public Relations Writing for Organizational Media (COMM 315) Public Relations Writing for Organizational Media gave me the opportunity to learn writing organizational publications and implementing organizational communications strategies. Communication Research Methods (COMM 300) Communications Research Methods gave me the opportunity to create effective surveying tools and measure results for the elds of scholarly communications research. Media Law (COMM 410) Media Law gave me the opportunity to learn about the history of communications and media, laws pertaining to popular communications topics such as libel and fair use. Public Relations Planning and Management (COMM 430) Public Relations Planning and Management gave me the opportunity to create a public relations campaign with a team of four other public relations students for the Austin Hatcher Foundation, a local pediatric cancer nonprot organization.

Desktop Publishing (COMM 260) Desktop Publishing gave me the opportunity to gain a mastery of Adobe InDesign and the elements of print design. Webpage Design (COMM 270) Webpage Design gave me the opportunity to design a website and coding xhtml and CSS.

Political Science Research Methods and Statistics (POLS 325 and POLS 326) Political Science Research Methods and Statistics gave me the opportunity to construct a thesis and produce a 20 page research document based on a two semester long project of researching and developing my hypothesis. Lee Clarion Practicum (COMM 205) Working as a writer for the Lee Clarion, school newspaper, gave me the opportunity to implement AP style skills learned, publish articles and learn the intricacies of Wordpress. Student Leadership Development (GNST 301) Student Leadership Development gave me the opportunity to learn effective leadership skills to implement in group settings such as a group project or in the workplace. I learned conict management and group communications skills as well.

Experience
Secretary of Artistic Integration, Lee University Student Leadership Council; Cleveland, Tenn. Spring 2011-Spring 2012 As Secretary of Artistic Integration, our organizational objective is to implement more artscentered events among the Lee University campus. My main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Coordinator of Lee University Film Festival Organize weekly meetings with the Artistic Integration committee. Coordinate and assist with various campus events such as International Justice Mission's "Art in the Park." Attend and assist with student leadership conferences. Teachers Assistant, Lee University; Cleveland, Tenn.Spring 2012 As a teachers assistant, I grade papers and help prepare lessons for two classes each week. I also coordinate the 10 hour community service project required for the class.

Intern, Lorrie Walker Communications, Inc.; Lakeland, Fla.June 2011-July 2011 I was a shared intern with Lorrie Walker Communications, Inc. and the Downtown Lakeland Partnership (DLP). My responsibilities included: writing news releases, blog posts, bylined articles featured in "Lakeland Local" magazine, and DLP website maintenance. Cashier, Gardners Market; Cleveland, Tenn.September 2010- May 2011 Working as a cashier gave me the opportunity to develop my skills in building customer relationships and handling monetary transactions.

Pocket the Change, Public Relations Student Society of Americas Bateman Case Study CompetitionFall 2010-Spring 2011 Four upperclassmen public relations students and I were chosen to participate in Lee Universitys 2010-2011 Bateman Team. We worked as a team to formulate and implement a grassroots public relations campaign within the Cleveland community for the national client, Ally Financial. Our campaign collaborated with Bradley County School Systems to reach out to promote nancial literacy among the Cleveland community. Our campaign was one of 13 schools out of 49 to receive an honorable mention and it won the Public Relations Society of America Incline Award for Best Campaign in the Lookout Chapter.

Other Experience
Cross Cultural Trip, Lee University Communications Department; Berlin, Germany, Munich, Germany and Salzburg, AustriaSummer 2011 Our Lee University Communications Department took a trip to Germany and Austria for two weeks; there we had the opportunity to visit various public relations and advertising agencies and experience the communications industry from a German and Austrian perspective.

September 2011 Helped clean up the community garden, Greenway Table by weeding and pruning plants Salvation Army of Cleveland; Cleveland, Tenn.
