Important points in kidney pathology 1- Marked decrease in serum complement occurs in ADPSGN (Adult male), MPGN (especially type

II), and Lupus Nephritis (female). 2- Minimal change GN is the main cause of Nephrotic syndrome in children. 3- Hematuria in children occurs in ADPSGN, MPGN, FSGS, Alport's disease, and IgA nephropathy. 4- Alport's Disease is a congenital disease showing Hematuria in children with sense disturbance (corneal abnormality & hearing problems-deafness-).Also Basket shape B.M Appearance. 5- GN lacking deposit MCGN, FSGS, Pauci-immune Crescentric GN Type III. 6- Alternative Complement pathway activation occurs in Type II MPGN (DDD), IgA nephropathy. 7- Renin is the cause of hypertension in renal lesion. 8- ANA, Anti dsDNA are diagnostic in SLE. 9- ANCA confirm diagnosis in Wegener's granulomatosis (Pauciimmune Crescentric). 10MGN may be secondary to Carcinoma.

11-Hepatitis B & to lesser extent C may cause 2ry (MGN or MPGN).

12Compare between MCGN & FSGS is important (Steroids effect & change in Glomerulus).
13-In MPGN Type II: After Transplantation the disease Recurrence occurs so it is a must to distinguish between Type I & type II MPGN before Transplantation. 14- Common cause of 1ry GN in Adult is MGN. 15-Common cause of 1ry GN in Children is MCGN. 16-Common cause of 2ry GN in Adult is Diabetes. 17-Common cause of Hematuria in Children is IgA Nephropathy. 18-IgA Nephropathy may be Mesangial or paramesangial. 19-Kilmmsteil-Wilson lesion is important (Diabetic nephropathy).

20-In FSGS IgM may appear in I.F microscopy despite its nonImmunological mediated mechanism because IgM may be Faulty Filtered in Diseased Kidneys. 21-Child, Normal BP, Protein in urine, No blood in urine, Gradual Improvement on steroidal therapy with disappearance of Oedema. It is MCGN. 22-Post sore Throat smoky Urea & hematuria BP 160/100. It is ADPSGN. 23-In nephrotic proteinuria (Nephrotic syndrome) more than 3.5 g/day protein in urine. 24-Isolated Hematuria: only blood in urine with no protein. 25-Isolated Hematuria occurs in Alport's disease, IgA nephropathy, the basement disease. 26-B.M disease (Benign Familial Hematuria) show only isolated Hematuria, No renal failure. 27-Female, 20 years, Active Nephritis (hematuria & proteinurea), Positive Anti nuclear antibodies. It is SLE. 28- In SLE there is (full house I.F) or (All Complement component & all Ig are found by I.F microscope). 29- Infantile polycystic kidney (Autosomal recessive disease) may be associated with Hepatic cyst that leads to hepatic cirrhosis if child survive (usually dies).
