Pre-Sales Questionnaire
1. How many doors, gates or other openings need access control? 2. Will all of the doors, gates or other openings be installed at once or in phases? 3. Is there an existing budget for this project? 4. Who can authorize and sign for this project? 5. What is the bid process? a. Who are the other bidders? b. When is the bid due? 6. What is the project start date, completion date? Are there any other important deadlines? 7. Are any other security related services required beyond access control such as CCTV or Intrusion Detection, etc? 8. Are there any special installation requirements or local codes to be aware of such as electrical needs, building or work 9. Do you require a bid for installation labor or do you have your own in-house maintenance or preferred out-side contractors 10. Is training for site personnel required? If so, how many people need to be trained and where will the training be held? 11. Does the site have operating hour restrictions for the installation? Will other contractors be on site during the installation?

1. How many buildings are involved in this project? 2. How many doors in each building are involved in this project? 3. How are the doors secured today? 4. Are there specific physical security requirements that must be met? 5. Are there CAD/Electronic facility plans available showing the doors and power? Can we get a copy? 6. Is there an access control system in place already? a. If so, who is the manufacturer? b. If so, what type of database is used? c. If so, does the existing data need to be transferred to the new system? d. If so, is it being replaced or will it continue to be used? e. If so, what are its strengths and weaknesses? f. If so, what type of readers are used? Manufacturer and model? 7. If so, what type of credentials are used? Prox cards, mag stripe, PIN? ? 8. Do you want to control access to secure areas within a single building, or a group of buildings? 9. Do you want to control access for individual users, or a group or groups of users? 10. Do you have doors that should be unlocked at certain times of the day? 12. Will everyone have 24-hour access, or will different people have different access times? 13. Does the customer have specific locking device type preferences requirements such as electric locks, electric strikes, 14. How many users of the system will there be? 15. If so, does it cover all of the doors that need access control? c. If so, has a wireless survey ever been conducted? Can we get a copy of the results? d. If there is no Wi-Fi network, does the customer want a bid on installing a Wi-Fi network? 3. Is there a network blueprint available showing existing infrastructure including subnets, switches, RJ45 jacks, access points, 4. Is there a preference for Ethernet, Wi-Fi or a mixture for the door controllers 5. Are there any IT-specific requirements that must be met? 6.
