COURSE BRIEF / SCOPE

With the Federal Government's recent commitment to enforcement of deregulation in the downstream sector, and the impending passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill, opportunities that will abound in the downstream sector shall translate directly to proliferations of Tank Farms by private investors, revamping of existing Refineries for possible expansion and overall plant efficiency improvement; engineering, construction and commissioning of new Refineries to mention but a few. The upstream sector will witness much expansion as well because of the high and competitive demand for the product CRUDE OIL like never before. In its simplest form, these boundless opportunities shall crystallize into enormous Engineering Projects in Nigeria and the West African Hub, many of which shall entail engineering (and/or re-rating of existing static equipment), fabrication/construction and commissioning of Pressure vessels and Aboveground Storage (shop or field erected) Tanks in particular. Pressure Vessels and Aboveground Storage (Shop/Field erected) Tanks are static equipments within the facility with so great a significance because of the enormous cost involved in their engineering, procurement and/or fabrication and erection. Both the Purchaser, the Contractor and Regulatory bodies (e.g. DPR's interest in issuing license for a tank farm) involved in the designing, construction and/or Inspection these of equipment must do so with high level of professionalism hence the need for continuous training in this subject especially as it applies to latest technology involved in designing and analyzing these equipments (models) before actual Fabrication. The demand on all stakeholders will increase. Demand in product availability; Demand on technical proficiency in designing Pressure Vessels and Tanks, Demand in Pressure Vessel and Tank Inspection amongst others. This course is to prepare participants for the tremendous opportunities that will emanate from the current direction of the Federal Government especially in the downstream sector and the high level of demand on technical proficiency in Pressure Vessels and AST Design and Analysis as well as general Tank Farm Operations. It has been carefully designed to expose participants to the basics of Pressure Vessel / AST Design and Analysis from First Principles using ASME, PD5000, Europe's EN13445 and API Standards. It covers typical design of Pressure vessels to ASME Div 1 and 2, PD 5500, EN 13445 Codes as well as Aboveground Storage Tanks to API 650, API 620, API 653, and UL 142 amongst others. The Course considers an in-depth analysis and a comparative study of the peculiarity of these codes over each other. Course prepares prospective Pressure Vessel and tank Inspector for their respective preparatory class and subsequent exams because it addresses the basic principles for these courses (API 653; Tank Inspection Course, and API 510; Pressure Vessel Inspector Course) An Introduction to Tank Farm and Tank Farm operations is a new feature in this course. To participants that have been in Tank Farm Business, this is a refresher course that will expose them to latest technology in Tank Designs and Tank Farm Operations This Course shall offer participants the classical opportunity to be trained on AMETank (ETank2000 the base version of AMETank), AMPreVA, and Sant'Ambrogio NextGen which designs to ASME Div 1 and 2 + other Codes TRAINING METHODOLOGY Course shall entail 60% of Lectures, 25% of Group Works, Project Scenario/Case-studies and Practical Exercises and 15% Videos and Hands-on work using latest Engineering Design Software. Participant will be provided with Training materials, Free Brochure, DRE Free Etank2000 Demo CD, lunch, group photograph and tea Breaks. WHO SHOULD ATTEND ?
