Project organizer for Science National Honor Society

Inductees to the SNHS must:

1) Maintain high academic standing (as per induction requirements) and
2) Be involved in at least THREE DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES during the year.
3) Earn a minimum of 8 points worth of effort in the above activities.
This organizer is a document that will help you record your involvement in SNHS. It will be used by project
directors to verify your input into their projects. Once you complete your projects and show adequate
involvement in SNHS, you will be initiated into SNHS. The initiation will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd at 6:30
pm, in the LHS auditorium. Note that there is space to document your activity in 5 different projects but you
may only need 3 to earn your 8 points.
The objectives of the SNHS include, to
encourage and recognize scientific and intellectual thought, advance the students knowledge of
classical and modern science, communicate with the scientific community, aid the civic community with
its comprehension of science, encourage students to participate in community service and in turn,
encourage a dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all humankind.

Our chapter objectives also include support for the immediate chapter obligations and promotion of environmental
awareness in our school and community.

Projects that you plan to start or be involved with should address one or more of the objectives above. In order
to maintain a focus in your projects, it will be necessary for you to fill out the following document and turn it in
(paper copy please) to one of the advisors on or before Monday, April 30th, 2012. Even if you have earned
your points for induction, it will be expected that you will remain involved in continuing projects until next year,
when you can train the new Junior-level students in the process.
