THANK YOU TO ALL OUR NEW FAMILY READINESS ADVISORS! ON 29 February, we officially appointed five family readiness advisors. Welcome Kerri Gooch, Virginia Harrison, Brandi Porter, Sara Seemayer and Jaime Sweeney. We are so excited to have them as part of our family readiness team! JANE WAYNE DAY IS COMING...CALLING ALL FORERUNNER SPOUSES! Ever look at your Marine and think, I could do that? Ever listen to the stories about shooting and think, I could totally be an Expert RifleWOman! Well here is your chance to prove it. MAG-16 presents Jane Wayne Day 2012. Saturday, March 31, we will meet at East Miramar from 0745-1500. The cost is $10.00 which includes a shirt and lunch. I must have all money and registration in hand by 1200, March 19TH, to reserve your spot and order t-shirts. We will be shooting a rifle/pistol, checking out some cool explosives, and even watch our amazing K9 dogs do their thang, so make sure you wear long pants or cammies, and tennis shoes or boots. If you require childcare, you must be registered and paid by 15 March. There will be an additional charge of $5.00, per child to cover snacks. You cant beat $5.00 per child for 8 hours of mommy time! PADRES TICKETS:

MCAS Miramar Owned- Padres season tickets on sale Thursday, March 8th at 9am for active duty and 10am for all patrons. -Tickets are sold as individual games and in pairs only. -Miramar has 4 seats in Section 103 field level behind home plate - price is $53.50 per seat. -4 seats in Section 112 field level near third base (visitors side)- price is $49.00 per seat. -These great seats are deeply discounted from the gate price. -Should you have any questions please contact the Miramar ITT/Travel office at (858) 577-4141. -Office is located in bldg 2524 next to McDonald's. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Supervise the CAHSEE - March 13th and 14th in the Serra High School Gymnasium. Volunteers are needed to help proctor the upcoming California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). Volunteers can sign up for one or both days from 7:00am-Noon. Volunteers will be responsible for supervising the students while they are taking the exam, monitoring doors, and passing out pencils. You will receive an LOA for participation. If interested, please call Kristi Terry, School Liaison, MCAS Miramar, 858.577.8625 Sunrise Senior Living Center: Volunteer to spend time with the residents of an

assisted living community for seniors! Volunteers facilitate games such as Bingo, cards, etc. and spend time visiting with residents one on one. (Thursday, 1 and 15 March 1800-2000) (15 VOLUNTEERS MAX) Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve: Come help us work in the canyon through various projects and maintenance. Projects include building fences, painting, planting trees, and constructing trails. FREE pizza lunch will be provided! (Saturday, 3 March 0900-1300) (25 VOLUNTEERS MAX) Homework Helpers: Tutor local students of all ages in a variety of subjects. Help children with their homework. Volunteers are paired with children based on subject interest and knowledge. (Every Tuesday in March 1800-2000) (25 VOLUNTEERES MAX) Father Joes Village: Father Joes Village serves over 3,000 meals a day, every day of the year, to the homeless here in San Diego. Please join us in helping serve dinner to the large number of people that come to the village to receive meals. (Saturday, 10 March 0900-1200) (50 VOLUNTEERS MAX) Feeding America San Diego: We will be sorting and stocking the Feeding America San Diego warehouse to make sure our local San Diegans in need are fed. Help sort and package food for distribution to food banks throughout San Diego. Kids are welcome ages 6 and up. (Wednesday, 14 and 28 March 1800-2000) (30 VOLUNTEERS MAX) Moonlight Beach Cleanup: The ASY is pairing up with San Diego Coastkeeper for a beach and street cleanup. All tools and equipment will be provided. Families welcome! (Saturday, 17 March 0900-1100) (50 VOLUNTEERS MAX) Neighborhood Exchange: We have partnered up with the San Diego Food Bank! Volunteers needed for organizing food for hundreds of military families for a free food giveaway. Volunteers are also needed for set up, carrying food to cars and breakdown. (Thursday, 22 March 0845-1300) (60 VOLUNTEERS MAX) Lakeside River Park Cleanup: We will be cleaning areas around the park to help restore it to its natural habitat. All supplies will be provided. FREE lunch for all volunteers! (Friday, 30 March 1000-1300) (35 VOLUNTEERS MAX)

The MCAS Miramar Falcons are looking for a few great assistant coaches (active duty/non-active duty/civilians) to help develop and kick off our base football program this year. COMMAND FINANCIAL SPECIALIST TRAINING

The next Command Financial Specialist(CFS) course is April 23-27. Please see attached flyer and agenda. The location will be at The Hub, classroom #1. Participants will be provided further details by email prior to the start of class. AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION CLASS Become an American Red Cross Lifeguard Today! The Lifeguard Certification Class takes place at the MCAS Miramar 50-Meter Pool starting March 2 through March 11. The cost of the course is $175/person for eligible military personnel (AD, Retired, Reserves, Dependents and DOD Civilians). The fee includes tuition and text. MCCS will have Lifeguard positions available. Sign up today to begin training for your next summer job. If youre not able to make this session, the next session will be held April 2 6. OPERATION HOMEFRONT PRESENT MANAGING YOUR MONEY: A financial literacy seminar with guest speaker Cathie Restivo, LFE Institute speaker. This unbiased, education-based seminar addresses important money management issues like: Manage your money without budgeting Avoid family conflicts over money Reduce debt Accomplish your financial goals without giving up "the fun stuff" Here is what one family who attended the 2011 seminar commented, Amazing job! I was a bit skeptical prior to attending because most money management seminars have some gimmick or sales pitch. The seminar was straight forward and to the point without a hidden agenda. AWESOME JOB!.Financial planning seminars will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in San Diego, CA and Sunday, April 29, 2012 in Oceanside, CA from 11:30am 3:00pm. Mother Daughter Tea

Montevista Retirement Community and the San Diego Armed Services Y would like to invite Military moms and daughters to a special 6th Annual Mother Daughter Tea on April 5th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Join us at Montevista for fun family bonding event with full tea service and desserts. This event is open to all mothers and daughters, ages 4 to 16 years of age who are military or dependants. Military mother daughters are encouraged to dress up for this fun occasion. Feel free to wear hats and fun outfits! A prizes will be given out for best hat and outfits
