Notification of Changed Content (Operation Guide and Advanced Operation Guide)

Reserve Next Priority Setting


The procedures for using the reserve copy and interrupt copy functions and for cancelling jobs vary depending on whether Reserve Next Priority Setting of the System menu is set to On or Off.

If Reserve Next Priority Setting is set to Off Follow the procedure below to use interrupt copying.

In the printing in progress screen, press [Interrupt]. The current print job is temporarily interrupted.

Reserve Copy
This function allows you to scan an original to reserve the next copy job while the machine is printing. When the current print job ends, the reserved copy job is printed. If Reserve Next Priority Setting is set to On After the machine finishes scanning the originals, reserve the next copy job. If Reserve Next Priority Setting is set to Off Follow the procedure below to reserve the copy job.

Place the originals to be used in interrupt copying onto the machine and select the Copy function. Press the Start key to start copying. When interrupt copying ends, press [Interrupt]. The machine resumes the paused jobs.

Press [Reserve Next]. The default screen appears.

Canceling Jobs

Interrupt Status

For more information on canceling jobs, refer to page 3-53 of the Operation Guide. If Reserve Next Priority Setting is set to On

Place the originals and select the Copy function. Press the Start key. The machine starts scanning the originals.

Press the Stop key on the operation panel to pause all jobs. The Job Cancel screen appears. Select the job you want to cancel and press [Cancel]. In the confirmation screen, press [Yes]. Press [Close] to resume the paused jobs.

Interrupt Copy
This function allows you to pause jobs that are being printed when you need to make urgent copies. If Reserve Next Priority Setting is set to On Follow the procedure below to use interrupt copying.

NOTE: If the machine is left for 60 seconds, the Job Cancel screen is automatically closed and the
paused jobs resumes. If Reserve Next Priority Setting is set to Off
Ready to copy.
Copy Image Copies

Press [Interrupt]. Ready for interrupt copy. is displayed. The current print job is temporarily interrupted.

Reserve Next Priority Setting


Select the operation of the reserve copy and interrupt copy functions and for canceling jobs. Use the procedure below to select the default Reserve Next Priority setting.

Press the System Menu key. Press [Copy] and [Change] of Reserve Next Priority. Select the default for [Off] or [On]. Press [OK]. 2

Default Screen
The following options are added to the selection for the screen appearing right after start-up (default screen). (Refer to page 2-31 in the Operation Guide or page 6-3 in the Advanced Operation Guide.) Item Application Accessibility Copy Description The Application screen (the screen shown when the Application key is pressed) appears. The Accessibility Copy screen (the screen shown when the Accessibility Display key is pressed in the Copy screen) appears. The Accessibility Send screen (the screen shown when the Accessibility Display key is pressed in the Send screen) appears.

Registering Shortcuts
The explanation is changed as below. (Refer to page 1-61 in the Advanced Operation Guide.) Add shortcuts to the Quick Setup screen as a quick and easy way to access frequently used functions. Function names linked to registered shortcuts can be changed as necessary. You can register shortcuts for up to 5 copying functions and up to 6 sending functions.

Adding Shortcuts
Steps 3 to 4 are changed as below. (Refer to page 1-61 in the Advanced Operation Guide.)

Enter the shortcut name and press [Register] to add the shortcut. Press [Close].

Accessibility Send

Output Tray
Step 3 is changed as below. (Refer to page 6-19 in the Advanced Operation Guide.)

Orientation Confirmation
Select whether to display a screen for selecting the orientation of the originals to be placed on the platen when using the following functions. (For more information, refer to page 1-10 in the Advanced Operation Guide.) * Duplex Margin/Centering originals Border erase Combine mode Memo mode Page numbering Booklets Stapling/Punching (optional feature) If [On] is selected as the Orientation Confirmation setting, the selection screen for original orientation appears when you select any of the above functions.

Press [Change] of Copy/Custom Box, Printer, FAX Port 1 or FAX Port 2.

NOTE: FAX Port 1 appears when the optional fax kit is installed. If you have 2 optional fax kits
installed, Fax Port 2 appears. You can specify the output tray for the second kit (Dual FAX).

Paper Selection
Step 3 is changed as below. (Refer to page 1-6 in the Advanced Operation Guide.)

Press [Org./Paper/Finishing], [Paper Selection] and then [MP Tray Setting].

Orientation Confirmation Setting


Use the procedure below to select the default Orientation Confirmation setting.

Press the System Menu key. Press [Common Settings] and [Change] of Orientation Confirmation. Select the default for [Off] or [On]. Press [OK].

Registering Programs
Steps 2 to 5 are changed as below. (Refer to page 1-59 in the Advanced Operation Guide.)

Press [Register] and press a number (01 to 50) for the program number. If entering Program screen from the Copy screen or Send screen, go to step 4. Check that [Copy] is selected and press [Next]. Enter the new program name and press [Register] to register the program.
