ARQUITECTURA
Destaca una planta semicircular articulada en torno a una plaza central abierta alrededor de la que se distribuyen estancias con mobiliario y elementos domsticos: fotografas, vestidos. La vivienda popular tradicional de Lanzarote, smbolo de su identidad, se abre ante nuestros ojos al comps del folclore canario. Elementos constructivos caractersticos: balcones, chimeneas, eras, aljibes, lagares, puertas, ventanas, cubiertas a cuatro aguas. Verde intenso en su madera y albo en los muros.

FACILITIES

HISTORIA
Centro de Arte, Cultura y Turismo, la Casa-Museo fue un antiguo casero restaurado por el artista lanzaroteo Csar Manrique y Jess Soto. Fieles a su objetivo de preservar y rescatar el estilo canario, crean un espacio con ambiente agrario: tiles agrcolas, talleres de alfarera, carpintera, telar, palma y palmito. La obra se inaugura en 1968 con el Monumento a la Fecundidad (15 m.), homenaje simblico al trabajo del hombre de la tierra. Antiguos tanques de agua de veleros y objetos varios reciclados enlazando nveas formas geomtricas. Arte de vanguardia emergente de una aislada Pea de Tajaste logrando un gran impacto visual. Tras la muerte de Csar Manrique (1992) se realiz una ampliacin en el interior de una cantera: restaurante, centro de venta de artesana, explanada para actuaciones y dos burbujas artificiales.

Alberga exposiciones: 1) Del ceramista Juan Brito (Tinajo,1919): coleccin 24 piezas sobre la Mitologa de la Princesa Ico y Mil aos de molienda; y 2) De arquitectura religiosa: reproduccin en maquetas de ermitas (alumnos de la Escuela de Artes Aplicadas y Oficios Artsticos Pancho Lasso). Servicios: Bar (abierto de 10.00 a 17.45 h.), restaurante especializado en comida canaria (de 13.00 a 16.00 en invierno y hasta las 16.30 en verano) y celebracin de eventos (928 801 500).
