Name Product Offering

DEFINITION
The presentation of some specified item for sale, rental, or lease to the marketplace. A product offering typically specifies capabilities that are on offer to the customer (these are the customer facing services). The tangible or intangible items required to deliver these capabilities are detailed within the resource specifications that are used by the customer facing services. The cost of a product offering is defined in its associated price plans. There can be one or more price plans available concurrently for a product offering. A product offering can be further classified as being: - Basic Optional - Bundled - Account Level - Shared A sold instance of a product offering is referred to as a product subscription. A kind of product offering that specifies benefits that can be purchased by a customer and that do not take the form of a subscription. An example might be a product offering describing a handset that is for sale. Unlike other kinds of product offering, the fulfilment of an order for a non-subscription product offering does not result in the creation of a product subscription. capability or benefit that when sold, can be shared across a number of basic product subscriptions. For example, a product that provides closed user group calling capability between a numbers of subscribers. A product offering that delivers some kind of capability or benefit that can be applied at the level of a customer's billing account. For example, a product that enables electronic bills to be generated for a specified billing account. A product offering whose sale is not dependent upon the sale of any other product offering. Optional product offerings can be attached to the basic product offering. Proxifun and Proxipro are examples of basic product offerings. Typically, the purchase of a basic product offering is the means by which Customers can acquire a subscription to the Proximus telecommunications network. A type of product offering that represents a grouping of product offerings to be made available to the market. The grouping may consist of other bundled product offerings and/or basic product offerings and/or optional product offerings. Customer facing services are not offered as part of a bundled product offering. They can only be offered as part of an offering within the bundle. Specific price plans are created for a bundle. These contain other price plans which are available for the offerings within the bundle. A kind of product offering whose sale is dependent upon the sale of basic product offering. The optional product offering is typically used to specify product offerings that will provide customers with enhancements to their telecommunications subscriptions. Product rules are used to define which optional products are available for which basic products. A business rule that defines who may purchase a given product offering. Rules for a Product Offering can specify 1. which Product Offerings this Product Offering can be combined with 2. which Product Offerings this Product Offering cannot be combined with 3. the Market Segment that can buy this product (e.g. residential, SME, Corporate) 4. Whether this is a Product Offering for a given type of Party Role (e.g. Customer, Prospect, Employee, Partner, MVNO) A type of Product Offering Eligibility Rule that defines which Product Offering subscriptions must be already held by a Customer for this Product Offering to be purchased by them.

A type of Product Offering Eligibility Rule that defines which Product Offering subscriptions must not be already held by a Customer for this Product Offering to be purchased by them. A type of Product Offering Eligibility Rule that defines which Market Segments are allowed to be purchase the Product Offering. Examples include Residential, SME, Corporate etc A record of a product offering that has been procured by a customer, by means of an order. A product subscription may have one or more installed price plans, and is realized as one or more installed customer facing service(s) and their associated installed resource(s). Each product subscription may have a registered end user. A product subscription may have one or more installed payment accounts (billing accounts/prepay accounts). A Customer Facing Service defines the characteristics and behaviour of a particular service as it is perceived by a customer. Customer facing services describe capabilities that can be offered to customers in the form of product offerings. Configuration constraints for customer facing services are defined in terms of customer facing service parameters. For example, the CLIP/CLIR Management capability of the GSM network can be specified as a customer facing service that is delivered through a product subscription called ProxiFun. The default configuration of CLIP/CLIR Management capability (on/off) is recorded in the specification as CFS parameter values. The C.F.S. Dependency Rules define the technical dependencies between Customer Facing Services. The rule can specify that if a C.F.S. is used within a Product Offering then another C.F.S. must or must not be included in that Product Offering and/or any other Product Offering that a given Customer is subscribing to. A type of C.F.S. Dependency Rule that defines for a given C.F.S. which other C.F.S. it cannot be combined with either in a Product Offering A type of C.F.S. Dependency Rule that defines for a given C.F.S. which other C.F.S. it must be combined with either in a Product Offering or in two Product Subscriptions An installed customer facing service defines the characteristics and behaviour of a particular service as seen by the customer and installed within the context of a product subscription that has been purchased/obtained. Resources may be reserved (see resource reservations) and subsequently installed (see installed resources). Resources have unique serial numbers or similar identifiers. A Resource that whilst being manageable and configurable does not appear in a physical inventory or tangible asset list belonging to Belgacom, a customer or some other third party. Examples include Electronic Addresses such as MSISDNs A piece of physical equipment that can appear in a physical inventory or tangible asset list belonging to Belgacom, a customer or some other third party A specification defining the common characteristics that are applicable to a set of resources. Example resources that require specification are: MSISDN IMSI SIM Card Mobile Station Mobile Station Accessory etc Customer facing services may be associated with resource specifications in order to identify kinds of resource that might be required when they are delivered. E.g GSM Connectivity service requires an MSISDN and a SIM Card. Product offerings may be related to resource specifications in order to define the kind of resources that they comprise. E.g. the Proximus Nokia 7210i Product offering is specified as comprising a Mobile Station plus a Mobile Station Accessory. The record of a resource that has been installed within a product subscription. Installed resources are attached to the installed customer facing

Some price plans exist solely with the purpose of bundling other price plans. These are available to bundled product offerings only and contain the price plans that apply to the offerings within the bundle.
