OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTION
Customer : Yetagen Field Development
: Yetagen B production Platform : LCP250A & LCP2506B Auxiliary Diesel Generator Local Control Panel

The function for the Loca1 Control Panel


The Local Control Panel is fabricated to IP66 conform to Class 1, Division 2 Group D application. Basically, it provides start and stops function for the engine and fault annunciation.

Preliminary check,
a. b. c. Ensure all field cablings are properly and correctly connected to the respective terminal block. Ensure all fuses are put on. Turn the Isolating switch (1S11) on and the 24VDC power supply indicating light (1H5) will be on.

Ensure all faults are healthy by looking at all the pilot lights located on the door of the Local Control Panel. Ensure the Manual/Off/Auto selector switch (16S1) at the Generator Control Panel is turn to manual position. Ensure the Engine the Air shutoff solenoid valve is mechanically manual reset. Turn the Electrical/Hydraulic switch (2S1) to Electrical mode. Press the Start engine push-button (2S3) to start the engine. After the engine started, the Engine stops indicating lamp (4H3) will be off and Engine running indicating lamp (4H2) will be on.

Engine is unable to kick up,


Ensure all faults are healthy by looking at all the pilot lights located on the door of the Local Control Panel. Ensure the Manual/Off/Auto selector switch (16S1) at the Generator Control Panel is turn to manual position. Ensure the Engine the Air shutoff solenoid valve is mechanically manual reset. Turn the Electrical/Hydraulic switch (2S1) to Electrical mode. Press the Start engine push-button (2S3) to start the engine. If the engine is unable to kick up regardless what so ever reasons, the engine will crank for ten seconds and rest for ten seconds. There will be a cycle of six ten seconds cranking and five ten seconds rest. At end of sixth cranking, it disables cranking and the Buzzer will sound and the Overcranking indicating lamp will be on.

Acknowledge the fault by pressing the Silent push button (2S7) to cancel the alarm. Press the reset push button to clear the overcranking fault. Lastly, investigate why the engine is unable to kick up.

Manual stop engine oDeration,


After the engine has started up and in operation, whenever the engine requires stopping then press the Stop engine push-button (2S4). The engine will eventually comes to a stand still stop and the Engine running indicating lamp (4H2) will be off and the Engine stops indicating lamp (4H3) will be on.

EmerPencv stoD engineoperation,


After the engine has started up and in operation, whenever the engine requires immediate stopping, then press the Emergency stop engine push-button (2S5). The 2301A Electronic governor will de-energised he actuator to push the fuel rack to zero position and shutdown the engine. At the same time, the Air shutoff solenoid will be energized to cut out the air for combustion of the engine. The engine will eventually comes to a stand still stop and the Engine running indicating lamp (4H2) will be off and the Engine stops indicating lamp (4H3) will be on.

Hydraulic start enmne ODeration, _. -

Ensure all faults are healthy by looking at all the pilot lights located on the door of the Local Control Panel. b. Ensure the Manual/Off/Auto selector switch (16S1) at the Generator Control Panel is turn to manual position. c. Ensure the Engine the Air shutoff solenoid valve is mechanically manual reset. d. Ensure Turn the Electrical/Hydraulic switch (2S1) to Hydraulic mode. Check the Hydraulic pressure indicate on the gauge is at least 240Opsi, then use your foot to e. step onto the hydraulic start valve to start the engine. f. The engine will start up, the Engine stops indicating lamp (4H3) will be off and Engine running indicating lamp (4H2) will be on. Note : For stopping the engine, it is the same as normal stopping procedure.

Annunciation alarm,

There are two types of fault alarms : 6.1) Common fault alarms with engine shutdown, a. Emergency stop. b. Engine overcrank. c. Engine lube oil low low pressure. d. Engine water high high temperature. e. Engine overspeed. f. CO2 Release alarm.

Common alarms without engine shutdown, a. Engine lube oil low pressure. b. Engine water high temperature. C. Radiator water low level. Diesel fuel tank low level. d. Diesel fuel tank high level. e. Generator stator winding high temperature. f. Generator stator bearing high temperature. g. With engine in operation, if any of the above mentioned Common fault alarms with engine shutdown activates, then : a. That individual fault light will flash. The alarm horn (5H8) will be activated. b. c. Press the Silence push-button (2S7) to cancel the Alarm buzzer and that individual fault light will on steadily if there is no subsequent faults occur. d. If there are couples of faults occur and the Silence push-button (2S7) is press, the first up fault light will keep flashing and the subsequent fault lights will on steadily. e. The fault reset is only done at Generator control panel by pressing the Reset pushbutton (16S8), all the fault light will be cleared if the faults are no longer existed. If the faults still exist, then the state of indication remains unchanged. f. The engine will eventually comes to a stand still stop and the Engine running indicating lamp (4H2) will be off and the Engine stops indicating lamp (4H3) will be on. With engine in operation, if any of the above mentioned Common alarms without engine shutdown activates, then : a. That individual fault light will flash. b. The alarm buzzer (5H8) will be activated. c. Press the Silence push-button (2S7) to cancel the Alarm buzzer and that individual fault light will on steadily if there is no subsequent faults occur. d. If there are couples of faults occur and the Silence push-button (2S7) is press, the first up fault light will keep flashing and the subsequent fault lights will on steadily. e. The fault reset is only done at Generator control panel by pressing the Reset pushbutton (16S8), all the fault light will be cleared if the faults are no longer existed. If the faults still exist, then the state of indication remains unchanged.

Routine check
Look out for Components and cables discolouring. Press the Lamp Test Push-button (2S6) to check all the indicating lights are working properly. Ensure no loose cable by pull test.
