Much Asphalt is southern Africas largest commercial supplier of hot and cold asphalt products to the road construction industry and also supplies airports, various municipal applications and even domestic asphalt requirements.
The company was established in Cape Town in 1965 and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Murray & Roberts in 1986. Today we have static asphalt mixing plants in all South Africas major centres and several mobile plants to service remote projects. We are able to supply a wide variety of specialist and differentiated products and maintain close contact with our colleagues globally to ensure our products and services conform to world best practice. A technical division provides specialist technical services and our SANAS accredited Central Laboratory in Cape Town allows us to develop new products, control test products, calibrate plant and offer testing services to our clients. All our plants also have their own dedicated process control laboratories. Much Asphalt holds SANS 9001 2008 quality certification and is currently a Level 3 Contributor in terms of the DTIs Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment codes. Safety and environmental responsibility are non-negotiable on our sites and regular training is carried out for our own and customer staff to ensure understanding and compliance.
