Reflection:

We started to work together by getting the course outline of the subject science in Grade 5 at the Vigan Central School, after which, we make the lesson objectives of the topics for the first periodical test of Grade 5 pupils. This is one of the hardest parts of the assessment; it makes you think hard in making the objectives. That was only the beginning and we will never give up. After we finished all the lesson objectives, we let Sir Frando to check our work. Unfortunately, there are some mistakes in our work and we need to revise it until all the objectives are valid. When the objectives are already valid, we are now ready to formulate the questions. We have also some difficulties in making the questions but there are some books that help us to make questions in a facile way. Before we conduct a try-out, we need to verify our work to our instructor and we need to make a request letter that will be given to the principal of the school where we will be conducting a try-out exam. Luckily, our request was approved and granted by the principal, and the following day, we conduct our try-out and our emotions are mixed excitement, nervous, and yet, blissful. Before the exam, we told them that whoever the top 5 highest score in the exam will be given a reward and that serves as a motivation for them. After the exam, we immediately checked the papers and after which, we make an Item Analysis of the scores of the pupils. All these requirements make me stressed. I dont want to depend on my group members and I want to contribute so that all of us can participate and there will be a good outcomes and results of our sacrifices. Before the start of this semester, I asked myself, why do we need to undergo with this assessment? Ive already answered my question when we finished all the requirements. I think this will be very helpful to us as future teachers. It can be a tool to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the pupils. One important thing that Ive learns is that making clear and valid directions or instructions. All the things that weve learned were very helpful when we are already in the field of teaching. Although these are very time consuming, it also gives us idea on what strategies we are going to apply in giving an examination. Because of this assessment, Id become more responsible, in a way that, I should study with myself, and learn from my own mistakes. I learned that we should not wait for the command of the teacher just to do our requirements. Instead, WE SHOULD COMMAND OURSELVES. We should act as professionals and improved our own abilities. Were not already children; we already know what the best is for us.

First of all, I want to thank God, for giving us strength, knowledge and ideas for the completion of this requirement. Our try-out examination to the grade 5 pupils has a good results and outcomes. Out 29 pupils who took the exam, only 6 pupils didnt pass and the highest score is 63 over 70, and the following pupils got more than 50 and above. Probably, our try-out was scheduled on the 3rd week of august, but because of many corrections in our outputs, we need to clarify so that it will be valid. So our try-out was conducted on the 4th week of august. A day before the try-out, we informed our cooperating teacher that we will be going to give an exam on the following day. But its too late for the teacher to prepare the pupils for the examination, so thats the reason why they are not prepared to take the exam. The teacher expects us to give the exam on the 3rd week but that was postponed. If we inform the teacher earlier, maybe they have better results on their exam and possibly no one can fail the exam. After how many weeks, we went to the cooperating school to give the rewards for the top 5 who got the highest scores, and we also gave a token to Mrs. Valdez(cooperating teacher) as a sign of our warm gratitude for her. I know that we worked as a group; we exert more and more effort for this requirement, we bring out every idea that we have and we had already applied it. Even if we have some mistakes, it serves as a lesson for us and we learned a lot. I hope that someday, we will be able to apply all the things that we have learned. We gained a lot of experience; we improved our self-confidence by dealing and socializing with the teachers. Most of all, I felt that Im already a teacher, this is my PASSION, and I really love to teach.
