The Beaches Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization that began as the shared idea of local businessmen and educators. The concept was to develop a non-profit foundation that would be able to provide financial assistance to academically capable students at Fletcher High School who, because of financial difficulties, might not otherwise be able to attend college. Upcoming Duncan U. Fletcher High School graduates seeking a higher education at an accredited institution (community, state, private, or other) are eligible for the Beaches Educational Foundation scholarship. This scholarship is based on financial need, merit, and the ability to be successful in a postsecondary course of study. The scholarship will be awarded in an amount up to $20,000.
