Pre-requisite knowledge

i) Pupils should be familiar with some uses of microorganisms in their daily lives. ii) They should be able to give examples of diseases although they do not understand how these deseases spread or what causes them.

Behavioral objectives

By the end of the lessons, pupils should be able to: 1. Name correctly 3 uses of microorganism . 2. State at least five types harmful effects

Recognize foods that made from microorganisms.

Teacher shows picture of yogurt drink, bread, tempeh and tapai to the class using power point slide. Do you like these foods? Do you know how to make these foods? Yes/ No Yes/ No

Eliciting ideas ( 15 minutes )

Restructing ideas ( 20 minutes )

Small-group learning. Uses and harmful of microorganism.

Teacher show slide shows and asks pupils to classify them based on whether it was useful or harmful microorganisms. Form four groups. Discuss whether the picture useful or harmful microorganisms.

Pupils will discuss in group. One student from each group will present the result.
