INTRODUCTION
Whether a room has "good" or "bad" acoustics is an ill-defined question.
What needs to be determined is whether a room is good or bad for a particular use.
No room is appropriate for every acoustical situation. The analysis of a room depends on
several criteria. One of which is the effectiveness of transmission of
speech and information through sound waves. Echoes and reflections are to be used
constructively or otherwise be eliminated. The listener views these criteria as subjective but
many of these criteria may be linked to quantitative measurements.
The purpose of the design is not to perform
the actual improvement room acoustics but would only otherwise provide design
recommendations and as a learning application in
engineering acoustics.
