Pachim KTanim from Rabbi Yudin: In honor of Parashas Ki Sisa: In the familiar "V'shom'ru V'nay Yisroel Es HaShabbos": why asks the Ohr Hachaim Hakadosh, does the Torah add another Shmira- watching-guarding to the Shabbos, above what is inscribed on the second set of Luchos? He gives several reasons. (1) the term Shamor means anticipate, to pine and wait for, as by Ya'akov, waiting for the implementation, of Yosef's dreams (Breishis 37:11). Much of our character of Shabbos, depends on the preparation, and personal readiness for Shabbos. The Pre-Shabbos hour, is it calm or tense? (2) V'shom'ru is in the plural. It is not enough that each individual keeps Shabbos "for themselves" in their home. Rather, each one is being deputized to be an ambassador, to create an environment that others will come to appreciate Shabbos as well. Invite the not yet-observant neighbor for Kiddush and dinner. When you see teens playing ball, great them warmly with a friendly "Good Shabbos", and they will get the message. You're not a busy-body, Shabbos is everybody's business.
