G P s trata-X
T he s trata X Method
s trata-X is a revolutionary, patent-pending polymeric s olid phas e extraction (S P E ) s orbent. T his s imple, general extraction method relies upon the unique polarity of the s trata-X s orbent to retain a wide range of acidic, neutral and bas ic compounds from aqueous matrices by utilizing a combination of hydrophobic, hydrophilic and retention mechanis ms . It is des igned to s erve as a s tarting point and may be optimized for s pecific analytes .

dilute urine with an equal volume of 100mM phos phate buffer (pH = 6.0). B e aware that the target compound maybe protein bound and may require an additional protein dis ruption s tep prior to extraction. adjus t pH to 5.5-7.5.

O ptimizes the method for more aggres s ive clean-up of the interferences during the was h s tep and to elute the s tubborn, s trongly retained polar analytes . E ns ures the pH of the s olution in the was h s tep is kept low s o that the acidic compounds remain neutralized, increas ing their retention. T his allows for aggres s ive clea n-up of interferences . B as e is added to the elution s olvent facilitating the extraction of the analytes . E ns ures the pH of the s olution in the was h s tep is kept high s o that the bas ic compounds remain neutralized, increas ing their retention. T his allows for aggres s ive clea n-up of interferences. T he pH of the elution s olvent is lowered by adding acid, facilitating the extraction of the analytes .
